Invalid object error on temp table on a particular environment

Hi, I am using a temp table in my sp. I have written the following tsql before and after using the temp table. IF OBJECT_ID('tempdb..##TEMP') IS NOT NULL DROP TABLE tempdb..##TEMP; Data will be inserted to the temp table consecutively using a cursor. I use SELECT * INTO tempdb..##TEMP FROM EXEC('query') to fill this temp table for the first time and INSERT INTO tempdb..##TEMP(<fields>) EXEC('query') for the remaining times. The SP is working fine in my laptop, but I am getting an Invalid Object error on this temp table name in the production server. Could anyone tell me the possible causes please? Thanks Sree

Update producing invalid object name for temp table

If IWantThisDSN = 0 Then SQLString = "SELECT importparamsID, ESubmitType, Description, ImportFileName,ClientCode, Notes00, Notes01, Notes02, Notes03, Notes04 into #t0 from Importparams " Else SQLString = "SELECT importparamsID, ESubmitType, Description, ImportFileName, ClientCode, Notes00, Notes01, Notes02, Notes03, Notes04 into #t0 from Importparams " End If cn.Execute(SQLString) SQLString = "UPDATE #t0 Set Description = ' ' WHERE Description IS NULL" cn.Execute(SQLString) I'm getting the error in the last cn.Execute(SQLString) line...   Message=[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Invalid object name '#t0'. I'm using VB 2010 and SQL Server 2008. This worked fine before with VB 6 and SQL Server 2000 but with the "upgrade" it's not working... Invalid object name error

Hi Experts,

I create a simple controw flow task with the following code:

UPDATE Production.Product

SET ProductLine = 's'

when i insert the SQL task object into a Sequence container and run the debugger i get the following error: "failed with the following error: invalid object  name Production.Product".

Can anyone tell me what im doing wrong?

bcp queryout using $PARTITION fails with Native Client error: Invalid Object $PARTITION

Using bcp queryout, in-line queries of the following form fail with the invalid object error on the $PARTITION keyword:

bcp "SELECT S.* FROM Support_Prod.ADSK.Session S INNER JOIN ##Session #S ON (S.SessionId = #S.SessionId AND S.LastInquiryId = #S.LastInquiryId AND $PARTITION.AdskInqPF(S.LastInquiryId) = $PARTITION.AdskInqPF(#S.LastInquiryId))" queryout I:\Data2\AdskBCPout\ADSK.Session.dat -fI:\Data2\AdskBCPout\ADSK.Session.format.xml -q -t\t -r\n -SINTDEVSQL1\DEV1 -T

Here, AdskInqPF is a well-formed partition function used to partition Support_Prod.ADSK.Session.  ##Session is a table of semi-joins derived from the former, but is not partitioned.  LastInquiryID is the partitioning key on the Session entity.

The resulting error is:

SQLState = S0002, NativeError = 208
Error = [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Invalid object name '$partition.AdskInqPF'.
SQLState = S0002, NativeError = 208
Error = [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Invalid object name '$partition.AdskInqPF'.
SQLState = 37000, NativeError = 8180
Error = [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Statement(s) could not be prepared.

The platform is SQL Server 2008 SP1 and the bcp is

upgrading from 2000 to 2008 - invalid object tempcatalog

I'm guessing a missed a step somewhere. I'm trying to upgrade an existing 2000 reporting service database to 2008.

I took a backup of the reportserver database and reportservertmpdb database. I restored both copies. I backedup and restored the encryption keys. I used the reporting services config manager to change the current database to the one i just restored. Everything seemed to go ok.

When i try to open the url, i get the following error:

Invalid object name 'ReportServerTempDB.dbo.TempCatalog'. Could not use view or function 'ExtendedCatalog' because of binding errors.

Any idea what i've missed?

Invalid object name 'dbo.Import_SymbolsNames'.

I am the administrator for the database. I have a database with 21 tables and 65 stored procedures that were created in SQL Server 2005 and all work flawlessly. I recently installed SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise and imported all the data and stored procedures. Everything still works fine.

I created a new stored procedure and it creates fine and I can see it in the databases stored procedures along with the others. When I go to modify the stored proc, the code comes up fine, but I get the red error underline and shows the error "Invalid object name 'dbo.Import_SymbolsNames'." I can ALTER the sproc and it still saves it. If I try to run the sproc, it does nothing, I get a return value of 0 and I get the error "Could not find the stored procedure 'dbo.Import_SymbolsNames'. Not sure what's going on here, maybe a config problem. I tried it with an existing sproc and changed the name with the same results. It's a very simple bulk insert routine. Below is the code.

Invalid Object Name, dbo.NewPoll

Hi there,

I'm completely ignorant when it comes to SQL Server, so bear with me.  I'm following a tutorial on writing a poll - http://www.beansoftware.com/asp.net-tutorials/poll-application.aspx - and when I try to save the Stored Procedure I get "Invalid object name 'dbo.NewPoll'".  I'm using Visual Studio 2010 and SQL Server 2008 Express.  I'm the systems administrator of my production server, infact I have the "box" downstairs.  So I can do any changes and all that.  I read that someone suggested it was a permissions problem; being familiar with MySQL, maybe I'm not twigging on to something yet.

Hope someone can advise.

Invalid object name 'HG_AX09TempDB.dbo.PersistedStream' while running the report

when i run any report it gives the following error

  • Invalid object name 'HG_AX09TempDB.dbo.PersistedStream'.

Thinking about new C# method prototypes: object as dictionary

I recently had to write a small Flickr API. I know many .Net API for Flickr already exist but I needed one for a Silverlight application. Whatever, it's only about building some querystrings so I did it by myself. It's been an opportunity to think again about a classical question: how to pass parameters to a method ?

Imagine you have a generic method to call some Flickr functions.

C# Object Oriented Programming

So far in C# Essentials we have looked at the basics of programming in C# such as variable types and flow control. Although it would be possible to write a functional program using these techniques, there is much more to becoming a proficient C# programmer. C# is, above all, an object oriented programming language and as such any C# programmer will be expected to create object-oriented applications using this language.

This is the first in a series of articles describing the use of object-oriented programming techniques as implemented by the C# programming language. This series follows the C# Fundamentals tutorial that beginners are advised to read first.

Overview of SharePoint Object Model

SharePoint offers a set of structured server-side objects those are widely used to program SharePoint Applications. These objects are hierarchically arranged and you can drill down through the object hierarchy to obtain the object that contains the components of SharePoint Application you need to use in your code.
