portrait and landscape orientation in the same report

 I am trying to format a report that is oriented in 'landscape'.  I have set the report properties page setup for 'landscape' but the program formats the report in 'portrait' mode.  The program recognizes the margin settings but does not recognize the 'landscape' orientation.  Has anyone else had this problem?

        I have created a report in SSRS 2008, In the report properties I have selected Orientation as Landscape but when i Export the report to Word it prints the report on middle of the page and cuts the rest of the report.

I need some help.

If I create a Report with a Matrix Tablix (with row Groups and column groups) in landscape layout and preview it in print layout, the report generates me some extra empty page every 2nd page.

I don't understand the rule, why it's doing that.

My Report settings are:

• PageSize: width: 29.7 cm, height: 21 cm
• InteractiveSize: width: 29.7cm, height: 21 cm
• Margins : 0cm,0cm,0cm,0cm
• Report Body : widht: 25cm, height: 10cm

According my Report settings this shouldn't happen, should it. The width of my Tablix is max 22cm.

What I noticed is, that when I shrink the width of my Report Body to 21 cm (to the width of the portrait layout) or less, the emtpy pages disappear.

Or when I delete the column group, it also renders the report without some empty pages.

I think this problem has something to do with column groups.

Is this a bug or am I missing a setting?

Hi, I'm using VS2008 and SSRS 2008 R2 and server-side report, we run into an issue with the native Report Viewer seems to always display the report in portrait, but when printing it prints in the correct orientation of the report as it's designed. The problem is that in the report viewer it shows a different number of pages than when it prints. For example if the report is designed in landscape, the report viewer will say the report has 4 pages (because it displays in portrait), but when printed the report is actually 9 pages (because it's landscape). Is there a way to set the report viewer to display the report in the orientation of the report as it's designed?

Hi, We are developing an ASP.NET web application, and we're using VS2008 and SSRS 2008 R2 with server-side reports. We have a number of reports, some designed to be landscape and some in portrait. We have an aspx page containing the ReportViewer control, but when run, it seems the ReportViewer always displays the report in portrait, even for the landscape reports, but when printing it prints the report in the correct orientation as it's designed. The problem is that when shown in the ReportViewer it shows a different number of pages than when it prints. For example if the report is designed in landscape, the report viewer will say the report has 4 pages (because it displays in portrait), but when printed the report is actually 9 pages (because it's landscape). Our landscape reports are set to landscape, also the paper size and the Interactive size are both set to 11 inch in width and 8.5 inch in height. Is there a way to make sure the ReportViewer display the report in the correct orientation of the report as it's designed (so the page numbers will match when viewed and printed)?

I'm horrible at math, or the formula simply eludes me.I need to replace a program I bought years ago that resized my photos, so I'm starting from scratch with this, that mimicks the program I was using.

I'm just trying to center a landscape or portrait image in a square, but coming up with the correct X or Y against the canvas size is throwing me off. I'll sleep on it for tonight and try again tommorrow. The image quality is fine.

is there a way to make the first column of a report use the an alternating background color? 

I have the background color set for the entire row however it does not work for the first column if the color is set to an expression.  If I just set it to a color i.e. red it works just fine. If I insert a dummy column to the left it works just fine (but the dummy column does not work, presumably because it is first??).

In the file below only the textbox for part number does not show an alternating background.  All others work correctly.
