Help with bad AjaxControlToolkit setup in SP2010

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 26, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

I am having issues with the AjaxControlToolkit. I started with the 3.5 version and backed up hoping for some love but I am still stuck in quiet desperation trying to meet my impossible deadline. :)   I have changed my masterpage to use the ControlToolkitScriptmanager.  System.Web.Extensions references v3.5.0.0 throughout the config. Version of the toolkit referenced in the VS2010 webpart project verified as 3.0.30930.28736

The issue is that no matter what control or extender I try to use I receive the following error:
The base class includes the field '(control/extender name)', but its type (AjaxControlToolkit.(control/extender)) is not compatible with the type of control (AjaxControlToolkit.(control/extender)).

If it would help I would post the entire web.config.  If anyone has a working setup with a version of the toolkit I would love to get a copy!  I will have to get Silverlight going next.

How to setup a Mobile Browser Emulator in Windows Mobile 6:

In the following tutorial, I cover the process of Setting up Windows Mobile 6 for Mobile Browser Emulation using the Microsoft Device Emulator. This enables a user to experience Windows Mobile 6 on a PC via Emulation without even owning a Windows Mobile 6 product. It can be a great way to test drive Windows Mobile 6 before purchasing a product with it installed. In our case, it allowed us to Emulate Windows Mobile Browsing so that we could optimize our sites for the Mobile viewing audience. Installation and Emulation is simple and fairly straight forward.

Need help, ASP.NET AJAX, AjaxControlToolkit

Hi, please forgive me if this question already answered before. I need help urgently.

I'm developing a web application (not website) which can be created under "New->Project->ASP.NET Web Application". I'm using Visual Studio 2010.

My problem is, all AJAX working fine except for the AjaxControlToolkit. I try to include the ValidatorCalloutExtender and it failed to work as in it won't display. However I created same thing using "New->Website->ASP.NET Website" instead and it works.

Question: Is AjaxControlToolkit only work on website but not web application? Is there anyway to use it on web application?

Can this code be setup to run against the whole database instead of just 1 record at a time?

We have made some changes to this code to start capturing 1 new field of data and updating it as new records are added. But there is currently about 120,000 records more or less.. those records of course dont have the new field populated with anything..

We would like to run this logic that already in place and run it against the tables to update the fields 1 time. I think to make it easier, if it can be setup to expect the "valueTwo" variable, so that we can run it againt the individual codes instead of doing all the records at one time.. there are codes that only have a few records, so it would be best to test initially against the small code group.

thanks.

            strSqual = "insert into trans (trans_type_name, trans_date,sys_id,mod_user_id,show_ind, remoteCode, techName) values('" & valueTwo & "','" & TransDate & "',"&strSystemID&", 1,'T', '" & dbQuote(strUser) & "', '" & strTechName & "')"

            getStaticRecordSet(strSqual)
            'get the new transaction_id out for just inserted alarm
            strSqual = "select max(transaction_id) as transaction_id from trans"

Best Way to Upgrade Using Web Setup Project

Hi there,

I am using VS2005.

I don't have much experience with web setup projects, but I now need to create a decent windows installer in order to allow customers to install one of our web applications. I have created a simple web setup project and it works fine, but not when it comes to upgrades of the application.

If for instance I install version 1.0 on a machine, and then later I try to install version 2.0, I don't seem to have the control that I would like... I can specify in the web setup project that the installer must enforce an uninstall of previous version, but then all application files and logs are uninstalled as well. If I let the application just install itself over the older version, it seems to leave some old DLL's there - it then causes issues in the application because DLL version conflicts.

My basic requirement is that I would like th installer to upgrade the old version with all the files required, but leave any application and log files in tact - this way the customer won't have to reconfigure the application after install.

What is the best way to handle this?

Data Deployment: Streamline Your Database Setup Process with a Custom Installer

Database setup can be a tough and time-consuming process and sometimes fall victim to human error. Microsoft Installer or InstallShield can help, as can your own custom installer. In this article, the author tackles one approach to writing database installers and demonstrates the process with a working code sample.

AjaxControlToolkit requires ASP.NET Ajax 4.0 scripts. - Error being thrown while building asp.net si

Everytime I build my site in VS2010 Beta I recieve a few ajax errors before the site loads here they are in order as they pop out on the build;

throw new Error("AjaxControlToolkit requires ASP.NET Ajax 4.0 scripts. Ensure the correct version of the scripts are referenced. If you are using an ASP.NET ScriptManager, switch to the AjaxScriptManager in System.Web.Ajax.dll, or use the ToolkitScriptManager in AjaxControlToolkit.dll.");

And then Next this line is throwing an error, I have a watermark ajax field on the page that I created a long while ago;

How can i add it to the editor?

With a override class i can add some buttons, but how can i add the posibility to set <h1></h1> on the selected text?
And what if i change the H1 to H3...

I'll got stuck in this, i know how to add a button and javascript to it, but don't know how to add the H1 to it.

Coding to add a button:

                AjaxControlToolkit.HTMLEditor.ToolbarButton.MethodButton b = new AjaxControlToolkit.HTMLEditor.ToolbarButton.MethodButton();//= new AjaxControlToolkit.HTMLEditor.ToolbarButton.ImageButton();
                b.Visible = true;
                b.Attributes.Add("onclick", "javasciptcode");
                TopToolbar.Buttons.Add(b);

AjaxControlToolkit v3.0.20820.0 with SP 2010

First let me say sorry if this is the wrong forum or place for this question.  I followed a link from Roy Tian of Microsoft Online Community Support to post here.  If I'm in the wrong place please let me know

I've been working on a project using MOSS 2007 for quite some time and I've been using the Collapsible panel extender successfully.  After installing the same assemblies on SP 2010 I've found an issue with what I think is the CollasiblePanelExtender.  I receive the following JavaScript error:

FAST Search for SP2010 scope setting works but not getting results.

Hello,

I am trying this from last two days , but it does not work. I have created two scopes for FAST Search Query SSA , they appear in search center , but I am not getting any results back. I see them being fired in the FAST query log.

First one is a simple one:

New-SPEnterpriseSearchQueryScope -SearchApplication "FAST Query SSA" -Name DCO -Description "All DCO Documents" -DisplayInAdminUI 1 -ExtendedSearchFilter "ContentSource:DCO"

Content source is a managed property. and i can just query "contentsource:dco" from the text box which gives me results.

When I fire the query i see it in FAST Search query log

"GET /cgi-bin/search?qtf_keyword:context=ssgid%3a%3a4d020606-8532-45d8-b09a-db11283cccb4%7cSPS-Location%3a%3a%7cSPS-Responsibility%3a%2c%3a%7c&rpf_navigation:hits=50&rpf_navigation:enabled=True&spell=suggest&qtf_parsekw:timezone=10&type=kwall&qtf_teaser:dynlength=185&resubmitflags=8192&language=en&query=CASHIERING&sortby=%2bdefault&qtf_lemmatize=True&offset=0&version=14.0.0.0&collapseon=batvdocumentsignature&collapsenum=1&rpf_sortsimilar:enabled=False&qtf_parsekw:locale=eng&hits=10&rpf_navigation:navigators=format(cutoff%3d0%2f0%2f20%2csort%3dfrequency%2fdescending)%2csitename(sort%3dfrequency%2fdescending)

Proper setup using Infopath and Custom Workflow using VS 2008

Hi,

I have been struggling for a couple of days, trying to set up a decent
structure for an Infopath project using a custom workflow using Visual Studio 2008.

I had a solution with two projects:

1) Sharepoint 2007 Workflow

2) Infopath 2007 form w/code-behind.

I included the xsn, in the VS solution, but after a day or two,
something went wrong, and I lost some work. I still do not know what
happened, but I could not get my changes to persist afterthat  Doing research I have read that this
stucture, using Infopath xsn, within VS does not work correctly with Source
Control. I am using VSS.

So I since made a change to the set-up so that the .xsn (form template) is separate from
Visual Studio. However, I need to leave the code-behind in VS, since I need to debug
it.

This is my latest problem. I have been unable to attach to the correct
process, as VS generates cachse files, and who knows what else.

My question is simple. What is the supported method for debugging InfoPath
code/behind, which uses a Sharepiont Workflow?

I just also want to say that one should not have
to spend a few days just trying to setup a working development environment.

This should be trouble-free, but it is far from being so. I

WSS 3.0 Search Setup Help

To Anyone that is willing to help me out, I would appreciate any guidance that is given to me.  We are currently running WSS 3.0 and have the search server started in the central administration area for our web application.

maxserver = The web application

sqlserver = sql database

content db = WSS_Content_3dbbdcc81761405cb6e9d983a88d59bd

When I go to Central Administration > Application Management > Content Databases > Manage Content Database Settings and choose the content DB above to setup the search the following settings are set:

Database server

sqlserver.internal.domain

SQL Server database name

WSS_Content_3dbbdcc81761405cb6e9d983a88d59bd

Search Server
You can choose to associate a content database with a specific server that is running the Windows SharePoint Services search service.

Select Windows SharePoint Services search server

Select one... maxserver

My question is, should the SharePoint Service search server be the Maxserver or the sqlserver.

The reason i ask this is it is set to maxserver currently and no results show up. I know for a fact that the timer jobs are running!  Shouldn't the server be the database server, sqlserver?  or does it spider maxserver?

I cannot get any se

Using tabs from the AjaxControlToolkit causes error: ...control contains code blocks (i.e. <% ... %>

I'm getting the error:

The Controls collection cannot be modified because the control contains code blocks (i.e. <% ... %>).

When attempting to add the tabs from the AjaxControlToolkit.  A little background..Theres an existing aspx page in a microsite which used the accordion control and the tabbed control ...I need to modify this page to use a different masterpage.

The original site was .Net Framework 2.0 and the page in question used AjaxControlToolkit 1.0. which I manually installed originally.  Some of the site has been further developed using the .Net Framework 3.5.  (Come with AjaxControlToolkit) Now I have come to update this aspx page and I get the error above.

I have narrowed the down to the TabContainer (I think)  Does anyone have any experience with this sort of problem?  Also what version of the AjaxControlToolkit should be with the .Net Framework 3.5? I have 1.0.20229.20821.

I also tried to browse to the AjaxControlToolkit.dll to add the tools to the tool box as they're missing... thinking this may be an indicator as to why it wasn't working. I get the error: 'There was an error loading types from assembly C:\inetpub\wwwroot\project\Bin\AjaxControlToolkit.dll Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web.Extensions. Version=

AjaxControlToolkit.HTMLEditor Please Help

Ok, so this has been driving me mad for 2 days. I have a AjaxControlToolkit.HTMLEditor named Editor1. I created a custom button, but how do I get the contents of that button into my editor?

If I do Editor1.content = MYBUTTONVALUE it over rides everything i currently have in my content box.

Please don't point me to WYSIWYG applications either, b/c non are free.

Thanks

Specify [TARGETDIR] in Setup project (msi) runtime

I am not sure if here is a proper place to ask this question. I look for other forums, and don't feel this question can fit in any. If this is not a correct place to post, I appologize. Please let me know where I can get answer for this question. Thanks.

Here is my question.

I wrote a website, and not I am trying package it with a setup program (msi), so I created a "Web Setup Project" and specify outputs as the standard tutorial on this. And then I'd add custom action to msi which modify Web.config file during msi installation. Output looks ok, but msi install the website under "C:\Inetpub\wwwroot" folder, and I don't have control on it. I followed an example (http://www.codeproject.com/KB/install/ChangeVDirWebSetupProject.aspx) use orca.exe to remove WEBCA_EvaluateURLsMB, WEBCA_EvaluateURLs and WEBCA_EvaluateURLsNoFail from corresponding tables in msi and provides TARGETDIR value while calling the msi file. And then I fall in a problem, either the custom action is not called any more or I get a error "Configuration file cannot be created".
