Hi all, I installed microsoft sharepoint designer 2010. It was working perfectly up until yesterday when I create a new site, it gave me an error that said " This web site must be created on a server that is running Microsoft Sharepoint Foundation. Please choose another Location " Now I can't create any sharepoint site and it freaks me out. I tried repairing, unistalling and reinstalling but still i get the same message.

Hi,

I had a simple site in a SharePoint 2010 server, and I backed it up. That server is not available anymore, and all I have available is a SharePoint 2010 Foundation server. Can I restore on that server? I got an error message saying that the versions of "SharePoint Foundation" on the two servers are different. Note that only one of the servers (the destination server) was running SharePoint Foundation, the other one had full SharePoint 2010.

I don't think I am using any features that are not part of SharePoint Foundation... it's an extremely simple site. Just a list with custom list forms edited in SharePoint Designer.

Thanks!

Leon.

The Select Microsoft SharePoint Foundation search server drop down is greyed out.

I am trying to select a server that is running the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation search service but the drop down is disabled.  I have verifed that that SharePoint Foundation Search V4 is started.  But when I go to Central Adminstration > Manage Content Database Settings > and choose my content database it won't let me select a search server.  I only have one SharePoint Server so the search service is local.

Thank you

My Site not accessible, getting error "The evaluation version of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server

Hi,
I am facing this problem from last couple of days and I am not able to figure out the root cause or find some solution. When I try to access My Site. It gives "The evaluation version of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 for this server has expired" error.

I tried creating different web application for my site, and created the root site collection by selecting MySite Host template. After site collection creation when tried accessing it ended up in same error. but when i tried creating site collection of different template it worked. Only for My Site I am getting that error.

I have tried all options mentioned in the below URLs. still not able to resolve.

Publish Sharepoint Foundation Server to Internet

Hi guys, first of all I don't want exactly to publish SPF server to Internet, but place it in DMZ and make available from Internet. So I won't have any dedicated web server, only one server with MSSQL and SPF on it. Is there any practices to make it more secure? So far I'm only came up with form authentication... Any ideas or links are highly appreciated!

Sharepoint Foundation 2010 to Sharepoint Server 2010

Hi there, We have Sharepoint Foundation 2010 already installed on Windows Server 2008, which uses SQL Server 2008 R2 Express (64 bit). There are sites already created and Custom lists and workflows. We then purchased a Sharepoint Server 2010 license. Is there an easy way to upgrade our current sharepoint using the same Database (Content DB). How do I deploy this new Sharepoint (on top of the Foundation) Worst case scenario: I have to remove Sharepoint Foundation and then install the licensed "Sharepoint Server 2010" version Please advise
