adding content to accordion from a dataset

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 26, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

Alright guys

I am trying to add content to an accordion and create accordion panes dynamically.

I have the following accordion code...

<asp:Accordion ID="Accordion2" runat="server">
        <HeaderTemplate><asp:Label ID="Label12" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("Name") %>'><%#DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "Name" )%></asp:Label>
 </HeaderTemplate>
 <ContentTemplate><asp:Label ID="Label12" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("Name") %>'></asp:Label>  </ContentTemplate>
        </asp:Accordion>

And I was trying to add content to it by using the following...

DataSet dst = new DataSet();
        dst = rubbish.GetCompetitions();
        Accordion2.DataSource = dst;
        Accordion2.DataBind();

Obviously that did not work, and I'm sure its not as straight forward as that. Does anyone know how I can do it?

Cheers

Accordion Control Renders Content Incorrectly

Hey Guys i'm using an accordion control with one pane. In all browsers it renders and works fine - except IE8. in IE8, it looks fine at first, but after collapsing and reopening the pane the text in my pane appears garbled. When i zoom in, i can tell it's in the original font, but it's almost as if it's an image that's blow up too big...

adding a SharePoint content source using powershell

Hi I'm trying to create a content source using powershell and (I'm not a programmer) I've got this far -   [System.Reflection.Assembly]::Load("Microsoft.Office.Server.Search, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c") [System.Reflection.Assembly]::Load("Microsoft.Sharepoint, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c") [System.Reflection.Assembly]::Load("Microsoft.Office.Server, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c") $site = new-object Microsoft.SharePoint.SPSite("http://breakfast/ssp/admin") $searchContext = [Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration.SearchContext]::GetContext($site)  $content = new-object Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration.Content($searchContext) $Content.ContentSources; --> and now I'm stuck! I think I can use the Create method with type and name parameters but I can't work out how to translate this into powershell This is the code I'm looking at: ContentSource contentSource_com = content.ContentSources.Create(typeof(WebContentSource), "www.someurl.com"); WebContentSource webContentSource_com = (WebContentSource)contentSource_com; webContentSource_com.StartAddresses.Add(new Uri("http://www.someurl.com/index.html)); webContentSource_com.Update(); and $contentsource = $content.ContentSources.

WPF: Adding checkbox with content Textblock at dynamically - width width returns NaN

I want to add set of checkbox at runtime one by one in one column. So i am creating check box object with content Textblock (Textwrapping = wrap) and adding to wrappanel but width of controls is NaN so i am not able to set location(Y co ordinate) of next checkbox. int lastheight = 10; private void btnadd_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { CheckBox chk_add = new CheckBox(); chk_add.MaxWidth = 100; TextBlock tb_add = new TextBlock(); tb_add.MaxWidth = 100; tb_add.TextWrapping = TextWrapping.Wrap; tb_add.Text = "Here is long text so that text block will get split over two lines....... blah blah blah"; chk_add.Content=tb_add;     chk_add.Margin = new Thickness(10, lastheight, 0, 0); wrapPanel1.Children.Add(chk_add); lastheight += (int)chk_add.Width; } Can any any one have idea how can i tackle this issue.

Adding a web part to "My Content" page causes error

Under a "My Content" personal page, a user (me) chose to add the "SQL Server Reporting Services Report Viewer" web part to a page. This was repeated with a test account and the same thing happened. Is there a way to fix this? Prior to this, adding a Content Editor Web Part seemed to work just fine.

Feature Upgrade Functionality - Adding a new Content Type and List Instance

I've successfully used the upgrade functionality in SP 2010 to upgrade my list structures as needed. So far, these updates have been adding new fields to existing content types. Now, I have some new fields, content types and list instances to add, and am having trouble getting this accomplished. The scenario is this: - A new content type with a single custom field (also new), and a list instance for this new content type - A new field that is a lookup back to the new list instance defined above. This new field is added as an existing content type. - In my feature.xml, I have the Element Manifest specified with both new fields and an AddContentTypeField element for the new field being added to an existing content type:   <ApplyElementManifests> <ElementManifest Location="V1_04\Elements.xml"/> </ApplyElementManifests> <AddContentTypeField ContentTypeId="0x0100..." FieldId="{8028A1C8-1147-4DF7-B5C3-8A1F84A30360}" PushDown="TRUE"/> The result of running the update on this feature is: - My new field that is part of an existing content type is added - My new field that is part of a new content type/instance is added - My new content type and list instance is NOT created, therefore my lookup is broken Any idea why my new Content Type and List Instance is not being created? Do I need to specify there

Accordion control access in Javascript using Content page

Hi, I struggled with some javascript issues, and discovered that the problem seemes to come from a failed ajax control access.Here's my problem:I have a master page and a content page.In my content page, I have an accordion with 2 panes.1rst pane: a textbox and a validation button;                     I want the button to fire javascript function without reloading page (using "return false;");In my master page, I put my ToolkitScriptManager.In my content page, I put my script containing the functions.The problem is that it seems like I can't access the accordion control in my js functions, whereas I can access my textbox value...Here is my source:<%@ Page Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Default.master" Title="CLEOR RH | Home" CodeFile="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="Default_aspx" %> <%@ Register Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" TagPrefix="cc1" %> <asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="Main" runat="server"> <script type="text/javascript"> var step1 = false; function pageLoad() { var accCtrl = $find('AccordionCtrl_AccordionExtender');

Adding Trigger To UpdatePanel from Content Page

Hi guys,    I got an updatepanel which contains a normal panel on MasterPage. The updatepanel does not contain content place holder. On the content page, I have to add triggers to updatepanel for buttons that are dynamically created on "page_load" event. The problem is that, since the page_load event of content page is being called before master page's page_load event, UpdatePanel is not being created. So that, whenever i try to add triggers in page_load event of content page, i got an error like "A control with ID 'ctl00$editableContent$ctl42' could not be found for the trigger in UpdatePanel 'up1'." How can I resolve this problem? The code below is for adding triggers to updatepanel for buttons.MasterClass master = (MasterClass)Page.Master;            AsyncPostBackTrigger trig = new AsyncPostBackTrigger();            trig.ControlID = button.UniqueID; // i have tried button.ID but that does not work as well :)                        trig.EventName = "Click";            master.UpPanel.Triggers.Add(trig);Regards,Kemal

Convert Xml content from a Dataset to another Dataset for SSRS report?

Hi All Does anybody know how to convert xml field from SQL Query to Dataset? For example I have a table T with Fields A(VARCHAR), B(INT), & C(XML). Field C has <test><row>ROW 1</row><row>ROW 2</row></test> I make a query to get this data and call this Dataset1 Now I want the Column C content to be converted into a dataset  call it Dataset2 so that I can drag and drop tables from there to make my reports. Is it possible to do it without using webservice?Another limitation I have, I should not have to connect to DB again, so this boils down to use the already data contained in Dataset1. I was trying to somehow embed this XML content in the query at runtime dynamically? I am currently looking for a way to use the Dataset1 as the datasource and and parse the XML content of Dataset1 to Dataset2. Also, is it that XML content needs to hardcoded in the query, can't we do it dynamically and run the query?

Activating an approval workflow on adding a new content type

How can I associate a workflow with the content types list? My scenario is that I allow users to add newcustom content types but they are needed to be first approved before they get added to the list of site content types. I couldn't find a way to associate a workflow with the site content types in Site Settings -> Site Content Types.

Adding content to 3 sharepoint lists in a single form/workflow

Hi Folks,

I know there has to be a better way of doing this.

I am setting up a staff training intranet site. the main objectives is to keep a history of what training has been undertaken by company employees.

the solution I have at the moment is

1) create a SharePoint list item on a list called training provider ( for the provider of the training course )

2) create a SharePoint list item on a list called training ( one of the columns is a lookup on the training provider list )

finally

3) create a list item on a list called training schedule which links the employee and the training course.

Going forward I would like the employees themselves to be able to enter the details of the training courses themselves.

I'm concerned that the above process is unwieldly/cumbersome.

Is infopath the way to go ? would a solution involving workflow be better ?

regards,

Counie

Issue with Announcement content type and adding a new item

Hello,

I have the following issue with the (Silverlight?) form to add a new item:If the screen has many fields so scroll bars appear (i.e. it's longer than the screen), you can move up and down. YET, if you press to attach a file, the scroll bars dissapear, so you can't see the rest of the form.

To reproduce:

a) make an annoucement list

b) Add a choice field, add many choises and enable multiple values - in order to have a longer-than-the-screen input form.

c) Go to the list , press add-new-item and attach a file: After that, you won;t be able to see all the input form.

Error adding image to Rich Content Area - Missing ContentPlaceHolders

Hello forum

I've recently installed a standalone SharePoint Foundation, and it seems to be working well. But today I tried to edit a Rich Text field /SitePages/StartPage.aspx file, and it threw an exception complaining about a missing ContentPlaceHolder. So I've tried comparing the "faulty" master page to a working one, and they're identical. I've searched the master page code for the ContentPlaceHolder - it's nowhere to be found.

What I've found is, that the page that fails resides in the /_layouts directory and a master page with the same name exists there as well.

Does anyone know what I can do to make this error go away?

PS.: I haven't modified the v4.master or any other master page for that matter.

This is the stack trace:

Server Error in '/' Application.

Dynamically adding content to page outside of the aspnet form from within a UC

I have a uc which generates a html form  that should auto-submit when the browser loads the page, so I need to add the form to the page before the </body> tag - outside the asp.net form, id like my UC to work without having any requirements on its parent page / masterpage.

i have managed to add a literal inside the body tag by calling the following inside CreateChildControls on the parent page
Me.Form.Parent.Controls.AddAt(0, ltl)
however this required the body to have runat="server" and the code to be added to the user control's parent page. ( this also seems to cause the viewstate to be lost after postback)

Is there any way i can append the string to the rendered html inside the body but outside the <form></form> from within the UC code

Incase it makes a difference the UC is being added dynamically to the page.
