Unable to select any stored procedure while creating TableAdapters in wizard

I'm using VS 2008 and SQL 2008.

I have created the tables and the stored procedures in SQL 2008.

In VS 2008, I created DataSet1.xsd in App_Code and created the connectionString in web.config file.

Then when I go into the DataSet1.xsd and try to add a TableAdapter, strange things happened.

First I chose the data connection, then selected "Use existing stored procedure", then there was nothing listed in the dropdownlists (in Select, Insert, Update, or Delete).

I'm sure the connectionString is correct because if I choose "Use SQL statement" and type in a "select * from mytable1", the TableAdapter can be created without any problem.

Any suggestions?

Problems creating a BDC file that use a unique select statment

I'm trying to build an BDC file that will pull information back from two tables in an Oracle database, I can import it without any errors, but then it tells me I do not have a filter when I try and select an item.  When I add a filter I get an error when I import the file.  The error I get is the following.
"Application definition import failed. The following error occurred: The IdentifierName Attribute of the TypeDescriptor named 'TestDate' of the Parameter named ':TestDate' of the Method named 'Get_TestTwelve_List' of the Entity named 'TestTwelve' does not match any of the defined Identifiers for the Entity. Error was encountered at or just before Line: '133' and Position: '16'."

Problems with FileUpload _only_ on a second page of wizard

Hi, I have a wizard wrapped in UpdatePanel.  Second page of the wizard contains FileUpload.  I have a button on the page that causes a full post-back.  The weird thing is that the first post back triggered by the button results in empty FileName of FileUpload on the server side (HasFile is false).  The second and following clicks on the same button work as expected (i.e. FileUpload contains a valid FileName). Also, if I move the FileUpload control to the first wizard page then everything works fine. Could someone please let me know what might be causing this strange behaviour? Thanks. Sample code: <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="TestAjax.aspx.cs" Inherits="TestAjax" %><%@ Register assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" tagprefix="asp" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><head runat="server">    <title></title></head><body>    <form id="form1" runat="server">    <div>          <asp:ToolkitScriptManager ID=&qu

Problems with creating a set or filter

I have a cube with several measures in it. I also have 2 time dimensions called Repoting Date (RD) and Business date (BD). The reporting date dimension is pretty small only containing the dates as the end of the month. The business date dimension is a normal time dimension on day basis.

Now I want to create a set  or filter where the reporting date is the same as the business date. And that should apply to all measures.

So I should get (BD.Date.2010-01-31, RD.Date.2010-01-31), (BD.Date.2010-02-28,RD.Date.2010-02-28)

Any thoughts on this one ?

Problems with creating webs (some pages and lists doesnt exists)

I am trying SP2010 and I have main web collection. In collection anything seems allrigt. But if I create a new site (for example team site), I can't reach site settings and some other problems. When I try site settings, sharepoint returns me his 404 Error. File cannot be found. If I use directive ServerRelativeUrl in some webpart via Visual Studio, webpart returns only root "/". If I want to show and manage lists, all lists are linked to the root site in collection. For example I have collection http://share2010/ . In this site I have Lists Pages and Images. In this collection I create new site Subpage with address http://share2010/subpage . In http://share2010/ site settings works fine. In http://share2010/subpage dont. And in http://share2010/subpage "list of lists" linking http://share2010/Lists/Pages and http://share2010/Lists/Images. But I need http://share2010/subpage/Lists/Pages. Can anyone help me?

Having Problems creating a development copy of a fairly complex live site, sharepoint 2007

Hi All,

I have inherited a sharepoint distribution from a previous set of contractors, which I am now trying to set up for a developer hired to fix a few bugs in custom code.
This sharepoint installation consists of a farm that includes the following: - Not Configured - Windows Sharepoint Services Incoming E-Mail, Windows Sharepoint  Services Web Application - Central Administration / Excel Calculation Services / Office Sharepoint Server Search / WSS Incoming email / WSS Web App - Office Sharepoint Server Search / WSS Incoming email / WSS web app

SQLCluster - WSS Database

I have a development machine with a single install of sharepoint / mssql 2005 that I would like to set up as a test server for code/database changes

I set out thus to export (stsadm -o export etc.) a copy of the live site, and import it into my test server. This gave me a lot of errors regarding features, which I looked up to be custom solutions that were not installed, so I installed those, and attempted the import again, this time another error regarding features missing. I checked the features/template directory and noticed on live there are a few features that are not listed in the solutions panel, these look to be mostly custom webparts

Problems Creating Age Bands After Calculating The Age From DOB Field

SELECT     CASE WHEN Client_Details_New.CliDOB IS NULL THEN 0 WHEN dateadd(year, datediff(year, Client_Details_New.CliDOB, getdate()),
                      Client_Details_New.CliDOB) > getdate() THEN datediff(year, Client_Details_New.CliDOB, getdate()) - 1 ELSE datediff(year, Client_Details_New.CliDOB,
getdate()) END AS Age, CASE WHEN Age BETWEEN 17 AND 25 THEN '17 - 25' ELSE 'Other' END AS AgeBands
FROM         Client_Details_New

My query is above ^^... when I execute the query it just says "Invalid Column Name 'Age'" - this error is showing for the 2nd case statement... not sure why im getting this error when I have set the column name "age" when doing the age calculation on the DOB field :S

any help is much apprecited!

A better way to reference your wizard steps using named steps

Note: this article uses the plain vanilla but the concepts apply equally well to its popular counterpart .

By far the most common way that I see wizard steps reference in code snippets is by their index.

Creating your SharePoint Governance Plan

One of the most common questions that I get from prospects as I'm talking to them about the creation of a governance plan and process is what does it look like. In other words, there are materials available which describe what should be in a governance plan but there isn't a ton of guidance on what the process of creating a governance plan and process are.

Creating Paging for a Repeater Control

A common question is "How do I implement paging within a Repeater?" Although the beauty of the Repeater control is its flexibility, you're on your own for building most functions. ASP.NET 2.0 has included some new controls that provide paging, as does the DataGrid in ASP.NET 1.1. However, this tip shows you how to roll your own paging for a simple data viewer.

Creating an AJAX Repeater in ASP.NET MVC

The "TaskList" is a tried an true example of the most basic thing that you can do in any framework. Unfortunately, I had some problems finding a really good example of all the steps necessary to get a task list to work in ASP.NET MVC 1.0.

Publishing SQL Server Database using Publishing Wizard : Tips & Tricks

We can use SQL Server Publishing Wizard to deploy our local Database to remote hosting server/production server. This feature is available in SQL Server 2008/VWD 2008.

Below is the complete step by step guide of this process.

Creating a Generic Entity Framework 4.0 Repository

With .NET 4.0 right around the corner, I thought it would be cool to download Visual Studio 2010 beta 2 and start playing around with the next release of Entity Framework.

The initial release of Entity Framework came with a great deal of criticism. To make matters worse, there was a large uproar when it was rumored that Microsoft would be abandoning LINQ to SQL, in favor of Entity Framework. This was because, at the time, many developers felt Entity Framework was an inferior technology to LINQ to SQL. To set things right, Microsoft proactively moved forward with improving Entity Framework, in time for the 4.0 release of the .NET Framework. This is good news because my initial impressions, so far, have been nothing but positive.

Top .NET Performance Problems and how to avoid them

Every time I work with one of our .NET customers to help them with managing their application performance I come across the same problems as seen with other clients before: lots of ADO.NET queries, many hidden exceptions in core or 3rd party .NET libraries, slow 3rd party components, inefficient custom code
