Accessing Client Devices & Upload to Server

I'm in the process of creating a ASP.NET page that will allow the user to upload PDF files stored on a CD onto the server. I have written a piece of code that checks for an .ini file and then goes into a specific folder that will save the PDF files to a folder I have specified on my computer. Now that works fine in localhost, but when I uploaded it to the server it stopped working.

I get a 404 error everytime I click on the button to upload. I suspect i'm not correctly accessing the client's cd drive because the path to their drive isn't correct.

Accessing ASP.NET Development Server web.config

I have an application that manages a web site.  As such it need to read [and write] to the web.config.   During testing, I would like to access the web.config on the ASP.NET Development server site [on my machine it is http://localhost:1694] instead of the production site [at http://localhost].

The method System.Web.Configuration.WebConfigurationManager.OpenWebConfiguration( path ) works fine to open the production site.

Is there any way to open the web.config file on the ASP.NET Development Server site?

Accessing SQL Server via ODBC on 64-bit Windows 7

I inherited an app written in Visual C++ 6.0 Pro and it uses ODBC to talk to a SQL Server 2005.  This works fine on XP and 32-bit Win7 systems.  I've installed the app on my Win7 x64 system and it also works fine except that when it tries to open any of the same SQL Server tables it dies.  This is also true on a remote 64-bit Win7 system.  This happens when the app tries to make a connection to SQL Server on a CDatabase::OpenEx due to an Unhandled Exception with an "MFC Application has stopped working" error message.  Not surprisingly, when I build and run the app on the Win7 system the same thing happens.  Another piece to the puzzle is that on my Win7 system when I try to add a new CRecordset class for a DB on the server, the New Class wizard can't "see" any of the DBs there even though I have my system data source correctly defined in my ODBC Data Source Admin.  I can see the databases when I try to create a new class on my XP system though.  I can access the DBs on the server via my MS SQL Server Management Tool on both Win7 and XP though.  The version of ODBC running on the Win7 system is 6.1.  When I go to my Control Panel for adjusting my computer settings it lists "ODBC (32-bit)" which is where I set up my System DSN.  I'm wondering if it really is 32-bit.  Any idea

Accessing response of HttpWebRequest, even when request returns 500 Internal Server Error

Hoping someone can point me to a solution, haven't been able to find one yet.

I'm using the standard way for send HttpWebRequest

		webRequest = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(request.URL);
webRequest.Method = "POST";
webRequest.ContentType = "text/xml";

postStream = webRequest.GetRequestStream();
postStream.Write(requestBuffer, 0, requestBuffer.Length);
webResponse = (HttpWebResponse)webRequest.GetResponse();
responseStream = webResponse.GetResponseStream();
responseReader = new StreamReader(responseStream);
string response = responseReader.ReadToEnd();

This is all fine, working correctly, no poblems.

However the actual webservice that i'm calling returns a 500 Internal Server Error code for standard faults

SQL Server 2005 SP2 - AppDomain was unloaded by escalation policy. Out of memory while accessing a c

I am posting this in the .NET Framework inside SQL Server forum as I assume the issue is related to CLR / SQL Server.  Please let me know if this is the incorrect forum.

I am receiving the following error in the event log:

AppDomain [DB_NAME].dbo[runtime].5253 was unloaded by escalation policy to ensure the consistency of your application. Out of memory happened while accessing a critical resource.
System.Threading.ThreadAbortException: Exception of type 'System.Threading.ThreadAbortException' was thrown.

The system that this is occurring on is a Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 (32 bit), SQL Server 2005 SP2 with 8 GB of RAM:

SELECT SERVERPROPERTY('productversion'), SERVERPROPERTY ('productlevel'), SERVERPROPERTY ('edition')

9.00.3042.00	SP2	Standard Edition

The CLR assembly is relatively simple and is referenced by both store procedures as well as by a table trigger (update).  Essentially the CLR assembly instantiates an object (in a referenced webservice on a separate&

Accessing Excel\Access files through Sql Server 2008 R2 Stand 64 BIT

This has been just such a pain with 64 bit! Data Access!!  I have been unable to use linked servers from SQL server to access files because there is no Jet 64 bit. Now, I have been using bulk insert statements.  These are working ok, but for some uknown reason, for a certain .csv file I am getting unexpected end of line errors.  I have tried many things to no resolution..

How can I get linked servers to work with SQL Server 64 bit for excel and access?  Why would microsoft leave this out??
