Problem in accessing resource file dynamically.

Steps I have followed are
1.I have created myres.en-GB.resx file at C:.
2.then created locale specific myres.en-GB.resources using resgen at c: only,
resgen c:\myres.en-GB.resx
3.Linked the Resource File to Assembly using AL.exe which is giving me assembly at c: only.
Al /t:lib /embed:myres.en-GB.resources /out:ClassLibrary1.dll
4.I have created one web application using vs 2008 & then build it.
5.Then placed both resource file & dll in web applications Bin\en-GB folder.
6.Anf finally written code at page load like

Why can't I load an an external resource dictionary that contains type converters?

Basically what I'm doing is putting a bunch of type converters as resources in a ResourceDictionary contained in an externally referenced assembly. Let's call the assembly WpfCommon. I'm directly referencing the assembly from my main application. In the App.xaml:       <Application.Resources>         <ResourceDictionary>             <ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries>                 <ResourceDictionary Source="pack://application:,,,/Common.Wpf;component/Wpf/ResourceDictionaries/Converters/Converters.xaml"/>             </ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries>         </ResourceDictionary>     </Application.Resources>   Converters.xaml:   <ResourceDictionary xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"     xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"     xmlns:Common_Wpf_Converters="clr-namespace:Common.Wpf.Converters">     <ResourceDictionary>         <Common_Wpf_Convert

Problem with MVC and Resource file Localization

 Hello, Having a bit of an issue trying to get localization to work with MVC. I have created a resource file Account.resx under App_GlobalResources which contains my localized strings. Within my view model I am referencing the resource string in the Dispay attribute. public class LogOnModel { [Required] [Display(Name = "USERNAME", ResourceType=typeof(Resources.Account))] public string UserName { get; set; } [Required] [DataType(DataType.Password)] [Display(Name = "Password")] public string Password { get; set; } [Display(Name = "Remember me?")] public bool RememberMe { get; set; } } However when I run app the following exception is displayed from my razor cshtml file.   Cannot retrieve property 'Name' because localization failed.  Type 'Resources.Account' is not public or does not contain a public static string property with the name 'USERNAME'. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Exception Details: System.InvalidOperationException: Cannot retrieve property 'Name' because localization failed.  Type 'Res

Setup Error - Failed to load resources from resource file

I tried to install The Lord of the Rings Online, but it always gives me the message (translated in english) that i need to install Net Framwork v1.1.4322. "ok, that's no problem" i thought, but every time i try to install Net Framework (any version) there are errors when trying to install it. With the 1.1 setup, it tells me "Setup Error - Failed to load resources from resource file", the 2.0 setup tells me that it is already installed (o.O?) but i can't see it in the "uninstall programs" list and the 3.0 and 3.5 just won't start. Nothing happens. I tried to install Net framework 4.0 beta which works fine but LotRO keeps telling me the same error message (i think because version 1.1 isn't included in higher versions)I'm running Windows 7 32 bit Ultimate: 2GB Ram, Intel Core duo e6750, GeForce 8800 gts (512 mb)Please help me :)

The component does not have a resource identified by the URI - problem

I know this has been asked before, but I haven't found any solution to it.

I have an assembly with multiple CustomControls defined in it.

Now when I added a UserControl to the assembly I get this error on launching the control.

I have made sure there is no duplicated dlls ofthe same assembly, there are only 2 copies, the assembly obj\debug output folder and the apps bin\debug folder.

Any suggestions?

I have a WPF application that has a UserControl called 'Address' which sets up a simple form with a grid some labels and some data input controls (TextBoxes..etc.)

I made a little style resource to add a gradient to a grid row background for my headings like this:
        <Style x:Key="GridHeaderFade" TargetType="{x:Type Grid}">
            <Setter Property="Grid.Background">
                    <LinearGradientBrush ColorInterpolationMode="SRgbLinearInterpolation" >
                        <GradientStop Color="#FFFFFFFF" Offset=".3"/>
                        <GradientStop Color="#B0a0a0a0" Offset=".85"/>
                        <GradientStop Color="#FFFFFFFF" Offset=".99"/>
Then in my address control I use:
<Grid Grid.Row="0" Style="{StaticResource GridHeaderFade}" >
            <Label HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="0,-7,0,0"  FontSize="

Visual Studio can't resolve static resource in WPF window, even though it works at run time - why?

I have a WPF window and am using the MVVM pattern. I set the view model as a resource for the window as follows...

  ...other stuff removed for clarity...
  <mvvm:DhrTemplatesViewModel x:Key="viewmodel" />

I want to set the window's data context to use the resource, and found that the following XAML works...

<StaticResource ResourceKey="viewmodel"/>

The problem is that I can only do this by typing the XAML manually, Visual Studio doesn't show the resource anywhere. I can go to the window's properties and click the little icon next to the DataContext property, click the "Apply resource" option, but it doesn't show "viewmodel" as a resource, static or dynamic. If I enter the XAML manually and then open the "Apply resource" pop-up window, it has the "viewmodel" underlined as an error, and hovering over it shows a tooltip "cannot resolve resource reference"

However, when I run the application, it works fine, so the resource is being resolved at run time.

Printing resource files

I have some resource files for localization and would like to print them. When I try to print them in Visual Studio (with File -> Print...) the button is disabled. Does anyone know how to print them? (Without copying each into word or excel)

Thanks and regards,

set messageTemplateResourceName from resource file in Validation appication block.

  I am using Validation application block in my project and want to set validation message from resource file, but not able to do that. I tried giving the path of resource file in messageTemplateResourceType and name of resource in messageTemplateResourceName. But it did not help as I only receive the message if I have set something in messageTemplate even after setting the resource file.

Here is my code:

<validator lowerBound="1" lowerBoundType="Inclusive" upperBound="250"
              upperBoundType="Inclusive" negated="false" messageTemplate=""
              messageTemplateResourceType="Asurion.jCare.Common.Resources.UIResources.PerilTypeAndDetailsSection, Asurion.jCare.Common.Resources, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null"
              tag="" type="Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Validation.Validators.StringLengthValidator, Microsoft.Practices.Enterpris
