ModalPopupExtender animated gif not animating

Posted By:      Posted Date: August 25, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

Hi, I'm trying to use the modalPopup extender to show a "processing" message with an animated gif.  Everything works pretty well except that any animated gif I place in the modalextender doesn't animate.  Anyone know of this problem and a solution?

html for the popup div:

<div align="center" style="margin-top: 13px; vertical-align: middle; display: none"

class="modalPopup" id="modalPanel" runat="server">

<table border="0"

How to make expanding/collapsing CollapsiblePanelExtender from code behind smooth and animated

I've got a CollapsiblePanelExtender in place on a panel in test and it works like a champ. (I get excited about the simplest things).  When I click the panel header it expands and collapses with smooth animation, as expected and desired.

But when I change its state via code behind, it seems I am merely changing its state and somehow bypassing the javascript that controls the smooth animation.

My markup is out of the box. I have added code behind and some javascript, but I am missing the connection.  Here is the javascript:

function pageLoad(sender, args)

function smoothAnimation()
    var collPanel = $find("CollapsiblePanelExtender1");
    collPanel._animation._fps = 45;
    collPanel._animation._duration = 0.50;

And here is the code behind:

protected void btnExpand_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
    this.CollapsiblePanelExtender1.Collapsed = false;
    this.CollapsiblePanelExtender1.ClientState = "false";

protected void btnCollapse_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
    this.CollapsiblePanelExtender1.Collapsed = true;

AjaxToolkit:ComboBox not working in ModalPopupExtender

Hello,I have two nested modal popup. The ComboBox does not work as expected as you can see frome this screenshot. As you can see it misses:The list is not visible even if I think that is in the background. In fact the "SuggestAppend" works perfectly.The ComboBox arrow button is not visible. On zooming the green circle you can see that it shrinked to a size of 4x4 pixelsAdditional info: jquery is used for tabs & datePicker (in the first popup) and Buttons (always)EDIT: Forgot to include  the server side code. Here it is:<ajaxToolkit:ComboBox ID="dataPhoneType2" runat="server" DataSourceID="phoneTypeDS" DataValueField="PhoneTypeId" DataTextField="Description" AutoPostBack="False" DropDownStyle="DropDownList" AutoCompleteMode="SuggestAppend" RenderMode="Inline" CaseSensitive="False"></ajaxToolkit:ComboBox>Is this a bug?Regards

Are ModalPopupExtender and AsyncFileUpload.OnClientUploadComplete incompatible?

A ModalPopupExtender works fine with a panel as the target control and the panel has an AsyncFileUpload control. However as soon as AsyncFileUpload.OnClientUploadComplete is set to something (e.g. onclientuploadcomplete="alert('hello');"),  the panel is not hidden on page load.Is there any compatibility issue here?

Reload IFrame+ModalPopUpExtender Content

Hi all, I have a small issue with ModalPopupExtender. It opens in an Iframe initially, and shows the page: add_contact.aspx After I have entered the contact details, the IFrame redirects to the contact_details.aspx page to show what I have loaded. The problem is when I close that modalpopup-window and click again to show the modalpopup, the iFrame shows the contact_details.aspx page, and not the add_contact.aspx page. Anyways, I can resolve this, without using modalPopup.show() in code behind? Thanks

Trying to make a workaround for animated GIF in WPF

Hello. I'm trying to make a workaround for displaying, with (semi-)correct delays, an animate gif with partial frames into an Image control from a ReadOnlyCollection<BitmapFrame> (from BitmapDecoder) What I've done so far was load the same file as a System.Drawing.Image, get the delays using GetPropertyItem(0x5100), and trying to recompose the frames. The whole thing runs on a separate Task, which then calls another Task with a TaskScheduler.FromCurrentSynchronizationContext() to update the UI. Here's the relevant code as of posting:         private void AnimateTaskMethod(ReadOnlyCollection<BitmapFrame> bi, CancellationToken ct) { int count = bi.Count; int[] delay = new int[count]; int i = 0; System.Drawing.Image img = null; try { img = System.Drawing.Image.FromFile(FileList[(int)index]); System.Drawing.Imaging.PropertyItem prop = img.GetPropertyItem(0x5100); for (int x = 0; x < count; x++) { delay[x] = 10 * BitConverter.ToInt32(prop.Value, x * 4); if (delay[x] == 0) delay[x] = 100; } } catch { for (int x = 0; x < count; x++) { delay[x] = 1000; } } finally { if (img != null) img.Dispose(); } while (true) { ct.ThrowIfCancellationRequested(); Thread.Sleep(delay[i]); Task UIAnim

Dear All, after long term searching on google for a solution of my problem, i couldnt find any result, the idea im trying to achieve: 1- create image buttons by reading images from folder 2- add eventhandler on each image button so that it retreaves the sponsor data and display it in datalist + adding trigger on my update panel. the problems are: 1-the code works fine BUT the cancel control id in the modal popup extender not closing the panel. 2- the below code not working with firefox and chrome. the code: NOTE: the script manager in the master page. <%@ Page Language="VB" MasterPageFile="~/MainMasterPage.master" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeFile="testing.aspx.vb" Inherits="testing" title="Untitled Page" %><%@ Register Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" TagPrefix="cc1" %><asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="ContentPlaceHolder1" Runat="Server"><script type="text/javascript" language="javascript">                    //  register for our events            Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_beginRequest(beginRequest);&nbs

Dynamic Content In A ModalPopupExtender & Open A New Browser Window

Ok, after searching on how to do this and trying many different ways and failing, I finally got something working.  So, I decided to post it here to help anyone else that might be trying to do the same thing.  If anyone sees a better way to do this then please let me know. I want to populate an update panel with addresses so I use a repeater.  I want the user to click a link and that causes a modal popup to appear for the user to enter thier address so that they can get driving directions to the address listed in the Repeater.  I needed a way to get the address the user was driving to, to also be inside the modal popup because I need to pass it along later.  The reason the list of addresses are in an updatepanel are for paging purposes.  I've used a simple version of the repeater in this example though.<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <HTML> <body> <form id="Form1" method="post" runat="server"> <asp:ScriptManager ID="ScriptManager1" runat="server"></asp:ScriptManager> <asp:UpdatePanel ID="myMainPanel" runat="server" EnableViewState=false> <ContentTemplate> <asp:Repeater ID="rptItems" runat="server" EnableViewState=false> <ItemTemplate>

modalpopupextender with frameset

Hi I have a typical frameset page that separate the page into Top, Left and Main. I want to add modalpopupextender on the frameset page so that it covers the WHOLE SCREEN. ------------- Default.aspx file --------------- <form id="form1" runat="server"><div>    <div style="display: none">        <asp:button id="btnPopup" cssclass="ms-button" runat="server" />    </div>    <asp:toolkitscriptmanager id="ScriptManager1" runat="server">        </asp:toolkitscriptmanager>    <asp:panel id="Panel1" runat="server" style="display: none" cssclass="modalPopup">            some text here.                    <asp:Button ID="btnClose" runat="server" Text="Close" OnClick="btnClose_Click" />        </asp:panel>    <asp:modalpopupextender id="Panel1_ModalPopupExtender" runat="server" dynamicservicepath=""

ModalPopupExtender in a Gridview

Hi all, I have a gridview with a template field containing a Button and a modal popup extender. I would like to populate the panel with the information from the row ... is there any way to do this? Thanks in advance.

javascript to hide ModalPopupExtender not working

Hello, I've seen some other posts about this but never found a resolution to it. I have a gridview control with another gridview inside each row. I'm using a masterpage and I have a TabContainer to boot and of course updatepanels. I'm showing my gridview child via a modal popup extender. It shows great and other JQuery operations are working as expected. I have a pageLoad javascript that does the following: function pageLoad(sender, args) {      $addHandler(document, "keydown", OnKeyPress);   } And, function OnKeyPress(args) {      if (args.keyCode == Sys.UI.Key.esc) {         var mp = $find('<%=mpe1.clientid%>');         mp.hide();      }   } The var mp seems to be returning an object as '<%=mpe1.clientid%>' returns the clientid, and the mp.hide() line executes without error. It doesn't hide the popup however. What can be the problem?S

ModalPopupExtender hides behind iFrame

I am working with .Net 2.0 using Visual Studio 2005 and the corresponding AjaxControlToolkit .  I have a master page with a ModalPopupExtender that appears some number of seconds before the browser session times out.  Everything works perfect, except for one condition.  One of the web pages has an iFrame used to display a PDF.  If the user is on this page and the modal popup is displayed, the modal popup hides behind the iFrame and the user cannot see it. I have seen a few posts regarding this issue, but no resolution.  Maybe the problem is fixed in .Net 3.5 and above, but I cannot migrate to the newer version just yet, so resolving the problem as it is would be awesome and much appreciated!   Thanks.

Animated Gif that does not animate.

I have two animated gifs that display nicely. I put them in a div with style="display:none". When the user submits the form will display the div with animated gifs. I use Jquery to display my dialog. The animated gifs and text will display fine, but my animated gifs does not animated when I do a form submit. What I am doing wrong?
