Problem adding it to my project.

Posted By:      Posted Date: August 25, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

I tried to add Modal Popup to my project. I tried the Sample Site, it worked there, when I added it to my toolbar, and followed the tutorial, I couldn't use it. Then, I tried something simplier just to test, I added a Confirm Button, when I try to execute the page it goes back to Visual Studio and show me this:

Problem adding .NET 3.5.1 feature on Server 2008 R2

Having an issue with a 2008 R2 64-bit Server becoming unresponsive/locking up when trying to activate the .NET 3.5.1 feature.  Did not have any previous version of .NET installed but ran the .NET Cleanup utility and completed successfully but still have same issue.  It installed .NET 4 via the Microsoft Updates OK but still hangs part way through the 3.5.1 install via the Server Manager/Add Features.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

WPF startup problem using Josh Smith's MVVM example project

  Hi folks I am teaching myself the MVVM pattern in WPF, with the help of Josh Smith's legendary article found here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/dd419663.aspx I decided to try the sample code, and then build my own WPF application from scratch, incrementally adding features based on the sample so I understand how it all fits together. I am having a few problems just getting a simple window to show and I was hoping somebody could indicate what I am doing wrong. I created a basic WPF project and used the code from the sample's Application.xaml and Application.xaml.vb, so I could use the special method for project startup that the sample illustrates. The code for Application.xaml is as follows:   <Application x:Class="JoshTest.App" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"> <Application.Resources> </Application.Resources> </Application>   The Application.xaml.vb class is as follows:   Imports Microsoft.VisualBasic Imports System.Globalization Imports System.Windows Imports System.Windows.Markup Imports JoshTest.ViewModel Imports System Namespace JoshTest Partial Public Class App Inherits Application Private viewModel As MainWindowViewModel Private window As MainWindow Shared Sub

Visual Web Developer does not support creating Web sites on a SharePoint Web server. I hope that one expert can help me to solve this problem? Thanks.

What's the difference between a dynamic data project and adding a gridview to a "normal" project?

Hi,I'm having difficulty understanding what dynamic data actually is.There is an option to specifically create a dynamic data project, but I don't understand the difference between this, and just adding some kind of data control, like a gridview or detailsview for example.If someone can help me understand this better I'd really appreciate it.

Problem when adding items to a listbox from different threads

I have an application in which different threads add items to a listbox throughout the application's execution (not at startup). But when one of the threads tries to add an item to the listbox, a System.InvanlidOperationException is thrown and the error message is: "The calling thread cannot access this object because a different thread owns it." (In my scenario the "calling thread" is one of the worker threads that add items to the listbox, and the "different thread" is the UI thread.)

So basically I just need a simple way to allow the threads to share the listbox object, or, failing that, some other workaround.

Problem adding a Service Reference

Hello all.

I am developing a Web Application using Visual Studio 2010 in witch I have to add a Service Reference to http://dev.virtualearth.net/webservices/v1/geocodeservice/geocodeservice.svc?wsdl.

The problem is that my company's network requires a proxy authentication. So when I enter the "Add Service Reference" dialog, paste the url and click "go" I get a "(407) Proxy Authentication Required" error and cannot add the service.

I also tried using svcutil but the result, obviously, was the same.

How can I work around this? Is there somewhere I can specify the required proxy? Googling around, I found some comments that it can be specified in the Web.config, but I can't find more details on how to do this.

Thanks in advance.

How to invoke c# function from another project without adding reference?

There is a C#.net libraray project whose dll name is customer.dll. It has a class name customer with a function name show(). I want to call this function from another project but dont want to add reference to the caller project. Can this be done? Is there any C#.net class that can acheive this?

Problem seeing all Web Part Categories When Adding a Web Part

I have a development page that a one of my users is currently working on.  When he tries to add a web part to the page, the only web part category that he can see is the "Lists and Libraries" category.  When I go in, I see every category.  I have set him as an owner of the site, but that still has not given him access to see the other web parts.  I am convinced that this is a permissions issue, but I don't know what permission set he seems to be missing.  Anyone have any ideas?

Problem with adding custom propety to a data class using Linq.

I tried to add a custom property to the data model:

public partial class Department
        public string ExtensionIdName
                return Extension.ExtensionName;

It seems that it works, but when I bind the data to a ListView it shows all the properties except the property I added manualy (ExtensionIdName).

Am I missing something or is there something wrong?

Problem adding Sharepoint Web Share to My Network Places (Help Please!)

I'm having a unique problem I think... I've googled this every which way I could think of but haven't seen anyone have the same problem.

Here is what is happening. I have a client uses My Network Places and have created sharepoint webshare "shortcuts" in my network places. However on one particular computer instead of it creating a webshare it is creating a UNC shortcut.

What I am doing is the following.

1) Open My Network Places

2) Click the Add a Network Place

3) Choose the option for "Another network location or website"

4) I enter the URL of the webserver: Http://webserver/development (copied directly from IE)

5) I confirm the name and finish.

Here is the problem. Instead of the shortcut reading as Http://webserver/development it reads as \\webserver\development and has basically converted it to a UNC share. On most of the PC's it creates a folder with a globe icon and when the users go to save or attach files the format is very similar to sharepoint. When this PC attempts to open the shortcut they get your standard windows folder structure.

Has anyone seen this or been able to fix it?
