InfoPath 2010 Submit Problem

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 25, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

I am new to InfoPath and have just started developing InfoPath 2010 forms.  I'm encountering problems where the Submit button I created on the form has to be clicked on twice to actually submit the document.  The first time I click on the Submit button it jumps upward which requires a second click on the Submit button to actually save the document back to a SharePoint 2010 form library.  All of the Items on the form have been placed inside a table structure including the Submit and Close buttons and I have adjusted the height of each row in the table to its lowest setting, but the buttons still move upward on the first click.

Infopath 2010 submit problem

Hi,

This is my 3rd post and I am newbie to Infopath 2010.

I have a question about 'submit' button on the form.

Right now I have a form with one dropdown, one textbox,  and 2 buttons which are <Run Query> and <Submit>

I have a SQL database table (ITEM) which has 4 columns; ItemNumber, Quantity, Location and Name.

Senario: A user is going to choose a location from dropdown menu that is populated by another table in the SQL database. He is also going to type in his name in the textbox.

When he clicks <Run Query>, the ITEM table that is in SQL displays with only two columns, ItemNumber and Quantity.

The table will have Item Numbers already filled in, but all of the quantity fields will be blank, so the when the user clicks <Run Query> it will display a list of Item Numers, and the user will fill in the quantities for those specific items.

After they are done filling in the quantities, the user will click the  <Submit> button.

When the user clicks the <Submit> button, I need all of the Item and Quantity data to populate the database, but I also need their location and name to go into every record that they submitted. So if there are 10 Items in the table, they will fill in quantities for those ten items, and the

InfoPath 2010, People Picker Control - problem with sharepoint group targeting

Hello!

I have developed InfoPath 2010 web form with People Picker Control. I want to set sharepoint group which would be used in People Picker Control to search people. Ok, I set sharpoint site url and aftet that - select sharepoint group 'Test InfoPath group' I need. Everything works fine - I can select only people inside sharepoint group 'Test InfoPath group'.

Now I deploy my solutions (wsp package) on different site collection and sharepoint server installations. In this case People Picker Control can't find right sharepoint group 'Test InfoPath group'. Sometimes People Picker Control select another group, not that I have select in InfoPath Designer and sometimes People Picker Control select all users.

What's wrong with it and can I configure People Picker Control to select sharepoint group?

Problem with InfoPath 2007 Form opened with InfoPath 2010 - whole number integer not coming into dat

I found an issue when testing existing InfoPath 2007 forms via the Infopath 2010 Designer client.  Integer fields in the form template are publishing to a SharePoint Forms Library and show in the default view.  However, if that library is then used as a Data Connection in another or same form template those integer fields are not displaying or available for selection.

This is not a problem using the InfoPath 2007 client.  It is not an option to convert the field to text as it could affect existing forms in existing libraries.  Also, existing integer fields are no longer appearing in previously defined SharePoint-based secondary data connections.  Only the ID field still appears.  But, those existing fields still work in the form and are selectable for functions, etc.

Is there a solution to this?

Thanks much!  Mike - www.ProgramNetInc.com

Infopath 2010 - submit options

I have been successful with creating a new form and it publishes to the form library in SP.  How can I using submit options have the form close and direct the user to the main home page?  Can I use SPD 2007 to add a work flow?  We have not yet upgraded to SP2010 so I still need to use SPD 2007.  Thank you

Problem opening an attachment from Infopath 2007 form in SharePoint 2010

I have an InfoPath 2007 form that is opened as a web based form in SharePoint 2010 that has an attachment control.  In Windows XP with IE 7 when you double click the attachment there is a warning message presented and after you click OK you get a prompt that asks if you want to open or save the file or cancel.  In Windows 7 with IE 8 when you double click the attachment there is a warning message presented and after you click OK you get a prompt that asks if you want to save the file or cancel, no open option.  I already set the SharePoint browser permission to permissive for the site and it doesn't help.  How can I get this to work in Windows 7 and IE 8?

Formatting problem with Email from an Browser Enabled InfoPath 2010 Form in SharePoint 2010

I'm creating a form in InfoPath 2010 to be filled out in the browser within our SharePoint 2010 instance. It's pretty simple, four columns with total table width of about 650 pixels, textboxes, checkboxes, datepicker and one multiselect list box. The form is working fine up to the point where I invoke a data connection which emails the form to myself. When it arrives in my inbox, the format of the form included in the body of the email is funky. When I open the email and set it to a full screen viewing window (1440X900) the area that takes up the form exceeds the width of my viewing window and requires scroll bars to see all the fields on the form.

When printing the form from my email the area is so large that no data will show up in the printable area (it appears to be centered on the form and it is cutting off the "extra content" to the left and right which contains the form data as the user entered it). I'm using Outlook 2007. I also forwarded the email to a person who's using Outlook 2010 and they experienced the same problems as myself.

Things I've tried to fix it: Setting each column width, setting each control width to a pixel length (instead of using %). I added some code behind to switch the view to a two column view with a table width of 400px before it sends out the email. It's closer to being at a state where it's

Can I remove it and configure it to send an email automaticlly.

Installation problem with VWD 2010 on XP sp3.

Multiple Submit Connection Problem

Hello everyone,

I have an InfoPath form with two Submit Connections. One of them is a regular submit connection to a SharePoint Document Library. The other is a submit connection to the UpdateListItems web Service.

I have one button using rules that submits the forms fields to the Document Library. Some of those fields have data validation rules like entry must be four digits, and field cannot be blank.

The other submit button uses rules to submit an XML template to the UpdateListItems Template. My problem is that even though this second button does not have the first submit connection as an action, the form will still check all of the forms fields to see if they violate the validation rules before it will submit to the Web Service.

How do I tell InfoPath to ignore the validation rules when I only want to submit to the Web Service? I want the user to be able to enter data into the XML template fields and submit to the Web Service, even if some of the rest of the fields are blank. Right now if any of the other fields fail validation it prevents submittal to the web service even if the fields that failed validation are not being submitted to the web service.

Thanks for any advice that can be offered,
