I may be at searches, but I couldn't find anything related to this... Honest, I looked!
Is there a way to move a file from library to library and make sure that the versions make the trip also?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Hello,
We have a document library on a site created off of the Report Center site template. We uploaded a Word 2007 document with the word zebra in the text. Using the search bar at the top of the page we selected This list: Our document library and searched for zebra. We received no results.
We tested the same thing on another site (site template Team site) within the same site collection and search worked fine.
Does the Report Center search function differently then the search functionality on the Team site?
Hi,
I am receiving the error "Cannot complete this action. Please try again" when trying to add a document library to one of the sites. This is Sharepoint 2007 SP1. I seem to be able to do it thru designer but not the web interface.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I have document libraries with the following settings: major & minor versioning enabled, checkout required & 'only users who can edit items' can see draft (minor) items. The problem is when a user uploads a document (the first document), the library appears empty. However, looking at the summary in 'view all site content' we see that the number of items in the list has incremented by 1. Typically, if the user selects explorer view they can also see the document they just uploaded.
Similar behaviour occurs using the 'New document' option. Before checking in the document for this first time it is visible in the library. If it is checked in as v 0.1 it 'disappears' if it is checked in as v 1.0 it is visible.
I have noticed that if I toggle the Draft Item Security setting by setting it to 'any user who can read items' then set it back immediately to 'only users who can edit items' that the previously hidden items become visible. And any new minor versions created subsequently are also displayed correctly. I can of course do this for existing libraries, but if new libraries are created based on my template this behaviour reoccurs.
Has anyone seen this before?
I'm trying to create a site page containing a part of a document library. I've added a data view web part to my page and then I can see all documents and folders of the library on the site page.
Problem is that I only want to see documents and subfolders that are in a specific folder of the library. I've tried to set the folder scope in designer to "Show only files of a specific folder", but I don't know where to specify the folder. Then I tried to do the same using a filter on the path, but this doesn't work with a "greather then" filter.
Has anyone tried to do the same and how?
Thanks a lot!
I have a situation that has foxed me!! I have a site level content type that has 8 fields... I use this to create more content types at the site level and use these in multiple Document Libraries (I have 40 doc libs). This works fine for 38 of the libraries. But for 2 of them... 2 of the columns are not showing up on the document libraries. These are user lookups fields. I am not sure why it's not working in these libraries only! When I use the same content type in another library... the inheritance does not break for these fields!
Anyone please provide some guidance on this? I am using WSS 3.0 and SPD to do workflows.
On another note... the content type has a template (in excel) attached to it. When I create the content manually using the content type from the New menu option, the template is used... however, when I try to add it using an SPD workflow, it creates a blank template... the content type template is not being used.
Please help... I am in a fix and need to release this application today!!!
We have created one document library in a web application and also added some documents in it.
Now we want to copy same document library to another web application with all content.
We have tried list template option but it is not working as document library is exceeding size quota(greater than 50 MB)
Please help.
Thanks in advance.

Jayashri
Autonomy WorkSite has a capability called iManage that allows a user to select two documents and view the blackline / redline version of the document hightlighting the differences between the two documents. Does anyone know if this capability has been extended into SharePoint?
I know I can perform this function from the Compare button on the Review tab of Microsoft Word 2010, but I am interested in performing this capability right from SharePoint.
Thanks in advance!

Hi all,
found a strange bug ...
Created a site in SharePoint 2010, added the document set content type to a document library. I then created some standard document sets within the document library to use in a site template.
However, when I created a new site from the site template the document sets appear as folders, with no document set info section when you go into them. However when you do the drop down on the name in the library it shows "Document Set Version History".
It is as though the document sets were only half recreated. I can create a new document set in the same library and that shows as it should.
Anyone else come across this? Anyone have any tips or solutions? Incidentally the document sets are also not working when a new library is created from a library template. They have the correct icon, but the link that has been automatically created does not work.
Oh, you can create new document sets within the newly created library (within site template or from a library template) and they work fine. It is only document sets that are saved within the templates.
When looking at a document library from a template that included a document set the link to the document set itself has been recreated completely wrong.
This is the link on the original document set
