Sharepoint list NewFormUsr form page gives HTTP 404 error

We have main SP list say X, within that we have other child SP list say A, B and C. When I view all available list in the SP site I can view all list here (http://server/sitename/_layouts/viewlists.aspx?Basetype=0)

When trying to add new item individually to child list the NewFormUsr.aspx page opens with popup message "You are only allowed to add new items from the [Main List Name] Screen".

Going back to main list DispFormUsr.aspx page I can see a form with all columns of the main list and at the bottom all child list with a link to add new items to them. However, when we try to add new item to child list from this page the NewFormUsr.aspx for child list gives webpage cannot be found error. I'm not sure why this suddenly started to happen as it use to work before. Can someone advice if they had similar problem and how was it solved?

I enabled Failed Request Tracing for the 500 status code, which gives me the following information:

Javascript error when attempting to switch page layouts in SharePoint 2010

I hope I put this in the correct forum. I am experiencing the following error when attempting to change the layout of an existing SharePoint 2010 page. But it does not seem to happen on all page types, just publishing pages. This error is happening on both the development server and both test servers. I have look in to the logs, since if it a javascript error there was nothing, which would be expected but I had to try. I have look at the cui.js file but was unable to spend enough time trying to figure out what exactly is going on in this file. Error being received ... A customized EditForm.aspx page giving error because it has a "People and Group" field with a "Allow

My customized EditForm.aspx which has a "People and Group" column with the "Allow multiple selections" property as "Yes" was working fine until the Agusust cumulative update was applied into the MOSS server. Now it's giving me the error: "An unexpected error has occurred". Needless to say, when I change the "Allow multiple selections" property to "No", the customized EditForm.aspx page works fine.Forgetting whyMicrosoft introduced this error for now, is there a workaround that you are awre of?

SharePoint Designer 2007 - Customize List View - Error when saving view ASPX page

We have a custom list definition that includes custom site columns.  When we try to open one of the list view aspx pages in SharePoint to update the view query we get an error when trying to save the page in SharePoint Designer 2007.  We receive a warning that the operation will customize the page from the site definition, which is fine.  And then get a general "Server error: ServiceRequestorID" alert.  ServiceRequestorID is a custom site column used by the list definition.

ServiceRequestorID field definition:

<Field ID="{FA39D24D-AB40-4b1d-BD80-94ABE34A7578}" Name="ServiceRequestorID" DisplayName="Service Requestor ID" StaticName="

Opening SharePoint List Attachments - HTTP 500 Internal Server Error

We are getting "HTTP 500 - internal server error" upon opening list attachments. The list attachments are added programmatically to the list item.

This doesn't happen for all the items in the list, but only for few items.

There is no error in the SharePoint logs and the event viewer.

Has anyone encountered this issue/error?

Opening SharePoint List Attachments - HTTP 500 Internal Server Error

Hi All,

We are programmatically attaching documents/attachments to the list item through a web-part.

I'm using the below code to accomplish this. (Fileupload control is rendered in the webpart)

Stream inputStream = this.fileUploadCtrl.PostedFile.InputStream;

byte[] buffer = new byte[inputStream.Length];

inputStream.Read(buffer, 0, (int)inputStream.Length);

spListItem.Attachments.Add(this.fileUploadCtrl.PostedFile.FileName, buffer);

The attachments are getting added fine. But in some cases, only the file is attached but not the contents. when we click on the attached file name, we get the following error:

Has anyone encountered this issue? Any help is highly appreciated.

Server Error in '/' Application on a personalised sharepoint page

I have a login to a sharepoint subsite where the default.aspx has been modified to show a personalised page. Unfortunatley it is now showing an error relating to a datasource for a report. This has been fixed but the personalized page stillthrows an error on login so I cannot get to the settings to remove the problem.

Is it possible to remove the personalised page via the back end? Either via the sharepoint database or by Sharepoint Desiginer.

Thank you.

Sharepoint Checked Out Word Document Cross Reference Error on Page number Only

I see the same error as RHABALA reported in an earlier thread, after I check out my Word Document from Sharepoint into Word 2010.

When I Control-click on any of my Cross References to Page Number, they fail with the warning prompt, they seem to be incorrectly pointing at the Sharepoint path. But when I Control-click an any Cross References to Paragraph Numbers,  they still work. I've added my Sharepoint Site to the trusted list in Internet Explorer, as recommended in that thread, but no difference, the error persists.

Grateful for your assistance.

Reset back to SharePoint Friendly Error Page

I have used current environment for debugging error message, by setting CustomError to Off and CallStack to true. I have fixed the issue and now try to set back this CustomError to On and CallStack back to false. However, when the friendly SharePoint error page never come out, it shows 500 Internal Server Error text instead.

There are a few errors that should show in SharePoint friendly error page, like "You are not allowed to respond again to this survey", but it shows 500 Internal Server Error page. Any idea how to reset it back?

Changing the graphics on the home page of a SharePoint site

When you create a site in Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services by using the default Team Site template, the home page includes two default graphics. A Windows SharePoint Services graphic appears in the body of the page, and a picture of a house in a circle appears near the site title. You can change these graphics to customize your site. Changing the smaller graphic requires a Windows SharePoint Services compatible Web page editor
