Adding a 'send meeting notice' button to the calendar.

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 25, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint
I'm attempting to add a button to allow users to send meeting notices when they create it in sharepoint.

I am using the following framework of Java to implement the creation:

The part I'm caught on is that instead of having it beign created as a button under a standard list view, I would like to either have the Java snippet execute when a meeting is created, or, to have a button appear under the meeting in the calendar that someone can click.

Any recommendations as to the approach?

ReportViewer Calendar button Click does not show calendar

I have a reportviewer on a page which is grabbing a report from a report server. the page is basically just a dropdownlist and a reportviewer control. The problem I have is that in the report the user have to provide the dates for teh report. The reportviewer automatically adds the textbox for the date entry and a calendar icon in front of it so the user can select the date. if I look at this page  in FireFox, when you click on the calendar button created by the reportviewer, the calendar control show up momentrily and dispappears. If you look at the same page in IE 7.0 nothing happens other than the page appears to be submitted. Does any body have any ideas on how to go about troubleshooting this bug?

Adding a button to the Report Portal

Hi everyone, I am using SSRS 2008 and would like to know if there is a way to customize the Report Portal?  I need to add a button that the user can click on when they find a bug or the report doesn't work.  The button would open an email window for the user to type in the problem they are experiencing and it would be sent to our Ontime system.      Thanks for your help!  Youngmon...

Adding multiple holidays to a SharePoint Calendar

I have a need to add US, Canadian and UK holidays to a corporate wide calendar. Is there a way to have SharePoint auto input these holidays for me or do I have to add them into a calendar overlay by hand. I can have outlook add holidays automatically it seems odd that SharePoint can't. Any suggestions?

In a group calendar, can items be made visiable to all users by default without adding them as atten

Well the title says it all really. We have a functioning sp 2010 site, setup this weekend, that's working great so far.  Primarily its being used for the company manual and procedures (a wiki site).  Search is working well and so on. I added a calendar with the intention of showing key company activities, plus holiday information and who's out at meetings.  We're a small company and this is unlikely to get ridiculously except on exceptional days. As it stands, when i create an item (for example someone out for a weeks holiday) unless another user adds one of the 'attendees' of the holiday event to the calendar it doesn't show up.  If I add all users as attendees then they can all see it by default. However, if I show that our chairman is attending a meeting at a client, then I can't explicitly say that the chairman is an attendee because for everyone to see it, they have to be attendees as well. I nsoed around a little and thought target audiences might be the way to go.  I configured all users and manager relationships, compiled the audience (it shows the right number of users).  However, if I setup a meeting with the chairman as an attendee, and the whole company audience as the target audience, then people still can't see it. Back to square one. So, is there an actual answer to this?  A different type of calendar, a query that

[Sharepoint 2007] How to send a task from calendar on a weekly basis ?

Hi all, I have created a sharepoint calendar. I would like to create a task every week. This task should show the details of a meeting. Also a document should be uploaded every week to this meeting by the adminsitrator.   Every week a user should receive a new weekly remainder in the tasks list at 9 am.   I have been using the workflow but it is sending just one task for all the series. I would like to trigger a new task every week based on the calendar.   How can i achieve that ?   Thanks

Adding functionality to the Toolkit Calendar Extender

Folks, I have not yet done a deep dive into the Toolkit code.  I need to try and make a couple of changes to the Calendar. The first one feels like an "it can't only be me that needs this" problem.  I have EarliestDate and LatestDate parameters floating around.  The requirement is to prevent the user clicking (ie they display as text rather than hyperlinks) any dates which fall outside of the two date limits.  An extension of that (not essential, more of a luxury) would be to prevent the user moving to months or years where the dates within that month/year are completely outside of the allowable range. The second one relates to when the initial view of the Calendar is Years.  I need to either be able to specify that the initial display starts for a given historical year (without showing that year in the textbox); or [better] to be able to squeeze a larger number of years onto the display, so that the user can move back a greater number of years with fewer clicks. I hope the questions make sense - all pointers welcome. Thanks,  Nick.

SharePoint 2007 Calendar - add an event to a recurring meeting workspace

Hello all,

I was wondering if someone can answer this problem I am having.

Simple Question: Are you able to add an additional event into a recurring event which is linked to a meeting workspace?

Long version:

I create an event in a calendar with the recurrence of every monday for the month. (4 dates lets say)  We have a special meeting to add to the meeting workspace, so I add an additional event in the calendar and try to add this date (15th lets say) to that previous meeting workspace series.

My problem is that the ability to add the new date (15th) to the series doesn't show me any options to add to that previous meeting workspace, I can only create a new meeting workspace.

My colleague who has used SharePoint 2003 at another workplace is 100% sure she could do this, however I am at a loss where SharePoint 2007 allows this functionality.

In a new calendar, I tested this theory by creating 3 events with recurring dates and creating an associated meeting workspace with each of them.  Not once did I get the option to add the event to another meeting workspace.  I added an event with no recurrence with an associated meeting workspace, the very next event could add to that meeting workspace which is what I want except to a recurring meeting workspace.

From my analysis, any event that has a recurring series

InfoPath Forms : Adding rows dynamically from a SQL table along with a 'Delete' button per row

My requirement is something like this:

In a Task Approval form, I want to have a view which shows all the rows in a particular SQL table (in a infopath repeating table?). Along with each row, there should also be a button, on clicking which the row should disappear from the infopath view table. Do you think InfoPath can handle all this? :)

To summarize:

1. How do I add rows to a table dynamically?

2. Per row, how do I create a button dynamically?

3. How do I remove the row from the view when the button is clicked?

Dynamically Adding button in GridView

I am using the following to dynamically add button to the cell of gridview, condition is that if the value of the fourth column is empty, then in place of empty cell add the button. But nothing is happening.  I am making use of the following logic in  RowDataBound event in gridview.

protected void gdvEmployee_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e)

for( int i=0;i<=dataSet.Tables[0].Rows.Count;i++ )
                if (dataSet.Tables[0].Columns[3] == null)

                    button.Text = "ADD";

When adding new calendar item the title field is missing - MOSS 2007

A staff member just noticed that when adding a new item to a vacation calendar we have set-up - the Title column is missing.  They will finish creating the new calendar item and then when they go to edit it the Title column appears and they can fill it in.

Can figure out what caused this or how to fix - any ideas?

When I create a new test calendar the title column is displayed properly when creating new item - so not sure what happened with this calendar.

Hope someone has come across this before.

Thanks so much!

Adding Button in StatusBar !

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to have a StatusBar in my application which has a button in one of the panels.

I am doing

StatusBarPanel panel = new StatusBarPanel();

Which I know is wrong because I get

"Unable to cast object of type 'System.Windows.Controls.Button' to type 'System.ComponentModel.IComponent'"

as button is not IComponent.

What is the right way to do this?

P.S. I don't have a XAML file but doing everything through code.

Thank You in advance :)
