XML with PrimaryKey values to delete rows in database table at a time

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 25, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

 Hi,

I'm having a gridview in my aspx page with checkbox, User can select one or more than one record(s) at a time and clicks on delete button, Then i'm constructing an object of my DTO and adding all the checked row's Primary Key (DataKeyNames - GUID's in my case) to a serializable class and generating an XML and sending it as parameter to the Stored Procedure.

My Doubt is, can i bulk delete all the rows from database table those are present in my XML document??

If it works, I can do bulk update with XML only, i already did bulk insertion by generating an XML..

My Another Question is, Will it affect the performance? Each time when i construct an DTO object and adding it to the Generic List??

WHich one is better, I mean ObjectDataSource or SQLDataSource or my XML method??

Can anyone please help me out clarifying my doubts and also XML Delete Query..

My XML will be like this

<root>

<Customer>

<CustomerID>GUID1</CustomerID>

<CustomerID>GUID2</CustomerID>

<CustomerID>GUID3</CustomerID>

 ...

 ...

</Customer>

</root>

Will bulk delete happen in the above case?

Thanks,

PAvan

Infopath 2007 Repeating Table - Multiple Value Column Text - Hiding Rows based on Column text values

Infopath 2007 browser based form Full Trust Example: I have a repeating table (FruitChoice) that has multiple columns. Both drop down list point to sharepoint list data sources. Choose your tree ft. drop down list – 6Ft Choose your Department drop down list - 103 This repeating table is conditional on the drop down values. This works great. Trees     Fruit       Cost   Date Ordered    Date Delivery Department 6Ft        Peaches                                                        103 3Ft        Apples                                                          102 3Ft        Peaches         &

InfoPath Forms : Adding rows dynamically from a SQL table along with a 'Delete' button per row

My requirement is something like this:

In a Task Approval form, I want to have a view which shows all the rows in a particular SQL table (in a infopath repeating table?). Along with each row, there should also be a button, on clicking which the row should disappear from the infopath view table. Do you think InfoPath can handle all this? :)

To summarize:

1. How do I add rows to a table dynamically?

2. Per row, how do I create a button dynamically?

3. How do I remove the row from the view when the button is clicked?

Delete selected rows from Table

Hi

I need to delete all rows from Table A that :

1. equal in year column(tbl A) with Date column from Table B

2. A.policaNum = C.PolicaNum (from TABLE C)

THOSE tables deals with large data amount, so I'd like the best solution to this.

I tried only to select before delete, but it takes too long and throws exception of memory

SELECT   A.*
FROM    A left JOIN
           C ON A.kod_lakoha = C.kod_lakoha INNER JOIN
           B ON A.YearItra = year(B.TarichNechonot)

thanks

Copy table values from one database to another

Dear All,

I am stuck with an issue. I have around 200 rows in a table with a particular database. I want to copy those values to another table in a different database.

Pls support

Values in repeating rows being replaced after opening the form a second time

I have a couple Infopath forms and recently they started behaving oddly.

In each of them there is a repeating row. In each row you enter a work order as the first value/column, this then filters the second column which is a drop-down with the various items on that work order. The remaining rows are then descriptions of those select items respectively. This information is all retrieved from a single SQL connection.

It all looks great, you click submit (It submits those values to a SharePoint list) and is then saved in the document library. However if you open the form after the values in each of the repeating row has reverted back to the first item for the selected work order.

For example: I enter work order 3344 which consists of items x, y, and z. In the drop down I can select item x, for the second item, I select y, and then z for the third for a total of 3 rows I then click submit.

If I open the form again the correct work order is still displayed but the three rows are all showing details for x, the first item in the work flow.

Does anyone have any idea what could be doing this? Thanks in advance!

Export Visio Database Table Names to Excel

If you use the Enterprise Architect edition of Microsoft Visio for data modeling regularly, then there is a good chance that at some point you've wanted to export just the table names into Excel. You might want to do this to map logical ERD entities to physical data model tables, track project status by entity, or track overlap between database versions.

Adding Dynamic Rows in ASP.NET GridView Control with TextBoxes and with Delete functionality

In my previous examples, I have demonstrated on how to add dynamic rows in GridView control with TextBoxes and how to save the values into the database. Now, seems that most of the developers are asking if how to add a delete functionality with it. So in this example, I'm going to show on how to delete a certain row in the dynamic GridView with TextBoxes.

Using jQuery to Filter Table Rows

The project is using the .net GridView control, so I had limited control over the output HTML code. Still, I think this code can work for most tables. One thing to notice: you should use the class "filterable" on your table or on one of its parents for the code to work.
First, we need a text box:

RadioButton Groups, Table Rows And NamingContainers in asp.net

The RadioButtonList. Very handy for inviting users to select just one item from a list although because of the screen real estate it takes up, used less and less in favour of the DropDownList. In plain HTML, the browser knows to enforce the unique selected value amongst a list of radio buttons because they all have the same value for their name attributes.

RadioButton Groups, Table Rows And NamingContainers

(In which AJAX-enhanced CheckBoxes become more useful than RadioButtons but inheritance saves the day, and a simple RadioButton-derived control establishes the purpose of a control's naming container)

huge number of data from database ... so how to minimize load time

Hi ...

I have used the above method to configure my crystal report ...

Its working fine , But i have huge number of data in database ....

So , it take long time to load the report ...

So , i have decided to show only the last 50 records inserted into the database , not all the 500 records to be loaded every time.

Plz help me with this issue  ...

Also , Plz explain me abt index legend in crystal report.

Can this code be setup to run against the whole database instead of just 1 record at a time?

We have made some changes to this code to start capturing 1 new field of data and updating it as new records are added. But there is currently about 120,000 records more or less.. those records of course dont have the new field populated with anything..

We would like to run this logic that already in place and run it against the tables to update the fields 1 time. I think to make it easier, if it can be setup to expect the "valueTwo" variable, so that we can run it againt the individual codes instead of doing all the records at one time.. there are codes that only have a few records, so it would be best to test initially against the small code group.

thanks.

            strSqual = "insert into trans (trans_type_name, trans_date,sys_id,mod_user_id,show_ind, remoteCode, techName) values('" & valueTwo & "','" & TransDate & "',"&strSystemID&", 1,'T', '" & dbQuote(strUser) & "', '" & strTechName & "')"

            getStaticRecordSet(strSqual)
            'get the new transaction_id out for just inserted alarm
            strSqual = "select max(transaction_id) as transaction_id from trans"
            set rst = getStaticRecordSet(strSqual)
