SQL Server 2008 SP2 Windows 7 UAC Prompt Print Control

We recently installed SQL Reporting Services SP2.  When we run Report Manager (i.e http://myserver/reports) and attempt to print a report using the Print control we get UAC prompts for both Vista and Windows 7.  This may not be relevant but if we click Show Information About this Publishers Certificate under UAC prompt it indicates the certificate expired on Feb 22, 2009.  Were the correct CAB files for installing the print control included in SP2?

Most of our clients are running Windows 7/Internet Explorer 8 and are fully patched.  Logged on users are members of local administrators group and the UAC settings are set to default settings.

If we right click IE 8 icon and then "Run As Administrator" we don't get the prompt.  My question is can the UAC prompt somehow be disabled if IE is started without using the "Run As Adminstrator" option and without turning off UAC?

"Unable to Load Client Print Control" after applying CU8 to 2008 SP1

In our environment, users are unable to Install ActiveX controls themselves. Primarily, this is particularly true in our Citrix environment. Upon applying CU8 to our 2008 SP1 SQL Server that we use to run reports, I'm no longer able to manually register the rsclientprint.dll to register the rll's and ActiveX control for users. Is this a known issue? Is there a new method to acheiving this same task?

Due to the size of our citrix environment, manually installing the activeX control through internet explorer on every one of our Citrix servers is NOT an option.

Any assistance is GREATLY appreciated.

How to print more than 15 columns of data in SSRS 2008?

Hi,

I have a report with 15 columns of data (each column is approximately 1inch~2inch), when I preview the report and click PRINT icon (which is very next to refresh icon) then save it as Microsoft xps document writer, it shows only first 5 columns of data, even data is truncated at end of each page in .xps.

I have selected A4 paper type in report properties, So please assist me how to print all 15 columns (along with header and footer) of data ? If I change the width and height in report properties then it affects rendering to PDF, DOC etc ..

Any suggestion is also welcome

Using Conditional Split data Transfer in SSIS 2008

This article uses the Integration Services Conditional Split Data Transformation element to filter and transfer data from a set of flat text files to SQL Server database table. The concept can be easily extended to apply to any other source or destination such as Microsoft Excel. This scenario is useful in creating denormalized database tables in a reporting and analysis situation.

Seven reasons to care about SQL Server 2008 R2

Microsoft begins to fully realize its vision of SQL Server as an information platform and not "just" a database. Hence the main theme for this release -- at least according to Microsoft -- is self-service BI. The PowerPivot plug-ins for Excel 2010 and SharePoint 2010 are easily going to make the biggest splash of all the new features, not least because they're the most complete. But then, SQL Server 2008 R2 isn't strictly necessary for PowerPivot for Excel, which works with plenty of other data sources.
