CLR Inside Out: Handling Corrupted State Exceptions

There's a danger in using one-size-fits-all exception handling, and you need to know how to avoid it by being as specific as possible about how you handle errors.

Infopath cannot load this form. Either the signature is corrupted, or the certificatie used to sign

Hello:

I have a whole bunch of forms contains errors like whenever you try to open it up.

Infopath cannot load this form.  Either the signature is corrupted, or the certificatie used to sign this form is expired or revoked.

The forms were orginally created with digital signature with it.  But we were in the middle of transition from one company to another company.  The digital signature was no longer valid.  Actually, the certificate should have been expired by now.  I removed all the signatures for all of the forms.  So they can continue using the forms to fill in the information.  The problem right now, is trying to open the old forms with digital signature on it.   Not only the company has changed.  We also moved sharepoint from the old server to the new server.

Any idea to resolve th

User Account Corrupted

Dears,

I'm having this problem for quite sometime now. I'm using SQL Express for my DB.

First i thought it's because of Web Server 2003 so i migrated to 2008 but it did'nt solve the problem.

Some of my users suddenly cannot login anymore not All were affected and almost same user

encounter account corruption. My solution right now is to delete their account and create a new one.

I dont know if it's how they use the web service or something wrong with the browser.

My plan right now is to create a new "ASPNETDB" if i cant find any solution.

Hope some can asist me if in case you have already encountered this. Also thought that maybe

because i'm using SQL Express MS intended to do this to force me to buy licensed version.

BTW, normally i only have 20 users accessing Web at the same time.

Thanks,

Dref

SQL2008 Standard setup failed. The performance counter registry hive is corrupted.

OS: Windows7 Ultimate 64bit (Traditional Chinese HKSAR) SQL: SQL Sever2008 RC2 Standard English (either x86 or x64) I have searched for answers on the web, tried all of them and still cannot get pass. 1. manually rebuild Performance Counter Library values as suggested in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/300956/en-us 2. string test = string.Format ("{0,3}", CultureInfo.InstalledUICulture.Parent.LCID.ToString ("X")).Replace (" ", "0"); which shows "31748" for me, added it under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Perflib (with values from 009) 3. C:\windows\systrem32\lodctr /r to rebuild counters.   The error just won't go. Actually, I just want to use the management studio to connect to SQL Server2008.. Is there a way to install only the management studio? I am willing to give up installing SQL Server2008 on my Windows7.   Thanks in advance.

Directory.Move leads to corrupted 'file'

Hello All,

I have earlier used Directory.Move to move one folder into an existing sub folder. The path I specified happened to have a slightly different case to the existing directory (temp vs Temp), and the result is two folders, one called temp the other Temp. Normally we can't do this through windows as it recognises the two folders to ultimately have the same name regardless of case. I expected the .NET class to handle in the same way.

I've deleted the original Temp folder, but this 'temp' directory still remains... it's recognised by Windows as a directory yet also reported as not existing! Whilst I could probably live with a redundant corrupt file somewhere on my disk it's really causing some problems with recursive functions that, like the rest of windows, get confused by the directory which exists but doesn't exist.

Has anybody had this same problem? Or rather, how can I fix this?

Running VS2008 on Win7.

Regards,

Chris

The file or directory is corrupted or unreadable

Hi,

I have installed a two node active/passive sql 2005 cluster on windows 2003 in vmware workstation environment . the cluster installed successfully (configured the cluster according to the link "http://www.bradspace.net/blog/kb/?p=91&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1"). but when I try to move sql server resource group to passive node, it gets fail by logging following error message in event log "initerrlog: Could not open error log file 'G:\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\LOG\ERRORLOG'. Operating system error = 1392(The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.)."

I have taken sql resources group offline and manually moved only sql server shared drive to other node and i have found that i am not being able to access error log or any other folder including data on node 2. the operating system shows a error saying that disk is corrupted. I have run chkdsk which delete's all the files of sql setup.

I re-installed sql server, but again found the same problem . by wo

The state information is invalid for this page and might be corrupted.

I have read the full 6 pages (90 posts) of the thread http://forums.asp.net/7/1173230/ShowThread.aspx and tried just about every single suggestion. nothing has fixed this error.
Sorry for duplicate posting this, I posted this question in that forum thread as well but i have since realized that thread has the "answered" icon so i doubt i will get much help from posting in that thread...

My c# asp.net 2.0 website has not been upgraded from a 1.1 or 1.0 project. I built it from scratch, using 2.0 the whole time. (It would seem most people have this error due to an "upgrading from 1.1" issue, which isn't the case for me)

The error I am getting is:

The state information is invalid for this page and might be corrupted.

and my current web.config file looks like this:

<pages

enableViewStateMac="false"

enableEventValidation="false"

viewStateEncryptionMode="Never"

maxPageStateFieldLength="90"

validateRequest="false" >

The page(s) that produce this error are all on Firefox. I simultaneously run IE on the same pages to test things at the same time and find that IE has no conflicts whatsoever, these errors are occuring in Firef

SQL gets corrupted with 'WITH' command and rubbish when editing query containing derived table

When my colleague makes any change to a query containing a derived table, the word 'WITH' followed by a lot of graphical characters appears after the alias, rendering the query unusable.  We have tried this with various existing and new, simple queries, all to no avail.  We are editing the queries in Visual Studio 2003, and he does not get this effect when using Visual Studio 2005.  I can edit the query in 2003 on my laptop with no ill effects.

save XML document became corrupted?

Hi all, I am experiencing a strange issue with my program: My program needs a simple data storage so I used a xml file. first, I read the data upon page opening, when user enters/modifies the form it saves the data back into the xml file.

Here is the pseudo code:

public partial class _Default : System.Web.UI.Page{
     public XmlDocument doc; //xml document
     protected void Page_Load(args)
    {
        doc = new XmlDocument();
        doc.Load(path);
        /*reading data from xml doc*/
     }
   protected void Button1_Click(args){ //When button clicks
        /*appends form data to xml doc*/

         doc.Save(path);
    }

}

The symptom: When I am running on my local machine it runs perfectly fine, However, when I run it on my web host,  the Save process seemed to terminate before the file is finished writing. The point it stops is completely arbitrary... here is an example of corrupted xml:

<root>
<a attr="attribute 1"></a>
<a attr="attribute 2"></a>
<a attr="attribute 3"></a>
<a attr="attribute 4"></a>
<a at <--- file terminates here, randomly, no exception thrown.

Any ideas what might have caused the problem?
