cmisProperties = objectService.getProperties(strRepositoryId, objectid, null, ocms);

cmisActions = objectService.getAllowableActions(strRepositoryId, objectid,ocms);

Metadata: Create a Database Schema Repository with Meta Data Services in SQL Server 2000

SQL Server 2000 Meta Data Services is a repository technology that stores and manages metadata for SQL Server. Instead of building database schemas over and over, Meta Data Services allows you to freeze an entire schema for use in other projects. You can also use these schemas for training, testing, or debugging. In this article, the authors will review the various components of Meta Data Services and show how it can be programmed using a Visual Basic client, XML, and XSLT. They will also show you how to manage and manipulate your metadata by generating a simple database schema using a SQL Server repository.

SSAS 2008 Metadata Repository data - User Knowledge base

Hello, We have the SQL Server 2008 Analysis services instance with some databases, cubes, Dimensions, Measure groups, partitions, etc. The business users are find difficulty to search for a particular measure. I mean, it is difficult for them locate a measure from the available cubes; again finding the respective Measure Group/ Folder is not an easy task for them. Also, they need to know the source system of a particular attribute in a dimension, formula for the calculated measure and etc. So, we have planned to develop a knowledge repository, which needs to store the business metadata for the SSAS databases. The user needs to be access this information using the SharePoint site and should help them locate and understand the data. The User Interface needs to be user friendly too. I need your valuable suggestions for the design of this system. Note: I have referenced the below articles http://dwbi1.wordpress.com/2010/01/01/ssas-dmv-dynamic-management-view/ http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlanalysisservices/thread/c610850f-16b4-4eaf-9b91-a2d32816f40e

Client Object Model - update metadata

Is there a way that I can update the metadata for a document in a document list using a UniqueId without having to speciify the library name? If I know the library name and the ID I know how to update the metadata but what I was hoping was that there would be a way of doing it using a UniqueId without knowing exactly which Library the document is in.

.NET COM Exposed Assembly Interface update

Hi, I am trying to extend a COM Class I wrote some time ago. Following the instructions I found in this post by Heath Stewart http://blogs.msdn.com/b/heaths/archive/2005/03/09/391358.aspx I have create a New interface INetList01 :  INetList that inherist from my original one INetList, and I have added few methods. Then I have changed the Class so that instead of Class : INetList will do Class: INetList01 The problem is that now in COM I can only see the only method I have added to INetList01 and not all of them (the one coming from INetList) Is that the right way to follow to update COM components without breaking with the old code? Thanks Here you can find the code.   [Guid("b7268589-97e3-4189-9687-54298ddbb3a4"),  ComVisible(true)]     public interface INetList : System.Collections.IEnumerable     {         [DispId(-4)] //Enumerator         new IEnumerator GetEnumerator();                [DispId(0)]  //Default Property         object this[int index] { get; set; }         [DispId(3)]         int Count { get; }         [DispId(4)]   &nbs

Managed Metadata Term Set Update

Is there a way to update a term set by importing over the current terms?

Publishin page layout, that add/update values in a metadata of the page not working

We have custom control on Publishin page layout, that add/update values in a metadata of the page. Code is written in 'Button click' event that update/add new values to the metadata. Following is the code snippet, which is working fine in Stage and Acceptance servers. Publishin page doesn't update Draft version with SPListItem.SystemUpdate instead it updates to last published major version.

currentPublishingPage = PublishingPage.GetPubl

SharePoint tool - update metadata, permissions of sites, lists,listitems

Hi All,

I am setting a SharePoint test environment with loads of data.

I could some how manage to use tools to populate data in Sharepoint.

But I couldn't find a way to

1) Modify the sites/lists/listitems in an easy way without me havng to manually perform that

As I had 200GB of data with some thousands of sites and lists, I am not able to manage this data manually.

For my testing to run smoothly, I need to be able to add/delete/modify the metadata, permissions of many objects easily

Can someone suggest me  a tool which allows me to do this kind of functionality

Thanks

Carol

SharePoint 2010 CMIS Repository Web Service returns site collection repositories

Hi. Recently configured the 2010 CMIS Producer for a SharePoint Site Collection. I have enabled the Producer at each site under the collection e.g.
 CaseManager (Master Site)
   Europe (Sub Site)
   Asia (Sub Site)
   etc..

If I configure the CMIS repository service URL as http://CaseManager/_vit_bin/cmis/SOAP/

Auto-Update Managed Metadata Term Store from External DB or List

Hi all,

I have been able to import terms using the .CSV file within the MMSA Term Store, but is there a way to auto-update the terms from an external list. Example: An external database already has terms and adds terms on a regular basis. Is there a method for updating the Term Store automatically when terms are added in the external source. Perhaps creating a SharePoint List populated with external data and somehow linking this up to the Managed Metadata terms? I know that System keywords are added to the term store when a user tags an item, but is there a way to tie into this functionality for managed metadata?

Windows 7 Phone Database Rapid Repository Create Read Update and Delete

Download the code and a fully working example application from http://rapidrepository.codeplex.com/

  2. Set up the Rapid Repository
  3. Create, Read, Update and Delete
  4. ASP.Net Gridview Edit Update Cancel Commands

    In ASP.Net 2.0, GridView Control also provides the functionality to edit and update the data retrieved from the database using CommandField template. You can cancel the action using Cancel Command of the CommandField. GridView consists of events that can be used to perform the actions like edit, update and cancel upon the Data items displayed in the ASP.Net GridView Data Control.

How to format and update GridView and DataGrid rows using JQuery

The behavior described in this question is as expected. When you set text of a cell in grid, it directly affects HTML that is going to be rendered. When you set text value of a cell, it means that you are setting innerText of the cell. The column that GridView creates for command fields (Edit, Delete and Select) are a (anchor) or button elements. So you can see what will happen if you set text value in that cell. It will wipe out those link or button controls and replace them with simple text string.

Creating a Generic Entity Framework 4.0 Repository

With .NET 4.0 right around the corner, I thought it would be cool to download Visual Studio 2010 beta 2 and start playing around with the next release of Entity Framework.

The initial release of Entity Framework came with a great deal of criticism. To make matters worse, there was a large uproar when it was rumored that Microsoft would be abandoning LINQ to SQL, in favor of Entity Framework. This was because, at the time, many developers felt Entity Framework was an inferior technology to LINQ to SQL. To set things right, Microsoft proactively moved forward with improving Entity Framework, in time for the 4.0 release of the .NET Framework. This is good news because my initial impressions, so far, have been nothing but positive.

Update Vs SystemUpdate

Many of you might noticed that share point ListItem has Update() method as well as SystemUpdate().

What is the difference between these two methods and why MOSS has two different APIs for updating an ListItem
