I am using a function to save dataset tables to excel files (some xml method http://www.codeproject.com/info/search.aspx?artkw=xls+to+xlsx&sbo=kw ) in xls format(excel 2003) but the excel file which is created taking 10 times more file size than conventional one.

Now can anyone tell me how to convert excel 2003 file format to excel 2007 file format programmatically through asp.net

We need to schedule an SSRS 2008 report to run every night at midnight, then have it converted to Excel and emailed to 4 predefined users.
SSRS Export to Excel is popular in our office but has been failing a lot recently- at the beginning of the year there were a few occurances a month until June, then they steadily increased until now it is nearly every time (44% of the events happened this
month.) Few software changes (just MS and virus def updates) No configuration changes until troubleshooting this issue began. Policy changes on both server and clients is possible as that is controled by contractors and we are not notified of changes.
Upon exploring I discovered export to tiff and web archive also fail, but csv, PDF, and xml seems to work most of the time. Some of the reports failing have not had any design changes in months. Reports are not particularly large- 2 to
4 tables with under 200 rows each. No more than 6 pages and then mostly because of page breaks between tables. no more than 5 levels of drill down- most have fewer than that. The failure happens very fast- about 4 seconds. If the data
is filtered down to very small sets so that the export process can complete inside those 4 seconds then it succeeds.
I have seem many questions on lots of forums with similar issues with SSRS but no solutions that worked for me. All the timeout values I know of (about 6?) are set to between 120 and 3600 seconds. None of my reports sh
I've read about Document Converters in Sharepoint, and using xslt and xml mapping.
What is the best way to convert InfoPath form with data in sharepoint form library (in xml format) to Excel format?
And how to do it?
I am developing a web page for users to input data records. I am seeking the fastest way that users can upload their MS Excel files and the system can help data insertion into one data table. I know XML can insert data records into SQL database easily. Could any one give me some ideas how to perform this issue? Thanks a lot.
I have a urgent requirement i want to convert .tiff image to .pdf file
Thanks in advance
i have a few Spreadsheets that have been converted to CSV to get around the 65k row limitation (we have 3.5million lines of data). unfortunately when they were converted the date has been saved in serial format (i.e. 40789 etc)
i have stried using substring to reformat in a derived column but it doesn't work. i have also tried settin the data type in the Flat file connection manager to date, this still doesn't work.
does anyone know how i can convert this format into an SQL Friendly format?
I want to convert a multipage TIFF file into a JPEG or PDF file.
If I use the Save method of System.Drawing.Image then only the first page of my TIFF file is put into the JPEG. All the other pages are lost.
If there is a way to convert it into a PDF that would also be ok.
Does anyone have an idea/sample?
