Why JQuery menu does not work for pages which are in a separat folder pages?

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 25, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

I have added a jquey menu in my master page its working fine for those asp.net pages which are at the same level as master page.

But this menu isn't working at all for all of those page which aur in Editor's and Admin's folder. In these pages menu is displaying as simple html menu and unfortunately no jquery effect is shown on it.

I'm very confused why this menu isn't working for the pages which are in a seprate folder while the master page is added at the root level outside of all these folders.

Please let me know why its doing so?

Logout doesn't work on all pages, and also User.IsInRole, UrlRewrting ?

I can't logout from my main page and also from the other pages when I'm using UrlRewriting rule without file extension. If I open the page with .aspx at the end, logout process working just fine. For example:

www.mydomain.com => logout impossible

www.mydomain.com/contakt => logout impossible

www.mydomain.com/contakt.aspx => logout working fine

Also when I log into system, the User.IsInRole method doesn't work for all pages used in application. It's working properly for the pages placed in main folder, but it's not working for the page placed in /folder/subfolder/somepage.aspx . Url showing in browser for this page is www.mydomain.com/somepage . How can I check If user is in role for that page ? It's always return false.

Does anybody got this problem ? How to solve it ? Please share any knowledge..

jQuery and Master Pages - Object expected

Here is the layout of my problem: I have a Master Page that is referenced by pages in the root of my site, as well as some pages in an 'Admin' folder. All of that works just fine. I added some jQuery to add some features to an auto-search textbox, and placed the code referencing the jQuery file and the script in the head section of the Master Page. The script looks a little like this:

       SelectText(this); // Function to call on click event.

I just used the actual id generated by ASP.NET to grab the textbox to avoid the "what's the actual id?" issues. When the home page loads, all is well. When I try to navigate to one of the pages in the 'Admin' folder, I get an 'Object expected' error. At first I thought it was due to a possible renaming of my textbox, but I checked the source of the page and this was not the case. In fact, I removed all of the script code except the:

part, and the 'Object expected' error still occurs. I am only setting up the jQuery here, and it still throws an exception. I have no idea what is causing

Create Work flow application integrating with domain user and asp.net web pages

Hi, I am WF 4.0 learner. I want to create a work flow application where there will be a request web form to fill out the information lets say request for Books order. There will be couples of primary approver who can approve or reject that request. If approve by primary approver it goes to seconday or final approver who also can do approve or reject the request. Only after appove by secondary approver the flow will be successfully end.

In this flow, all users from the domain can request. some users will be primary approver and some are secondary approvers. Can we develop this scenario in WF 4.0? Your idea will be most welcomed. Thanks

Unable to get pages from a folder in pages library

I have a Pages library, there are some pages in it. Inside this pages library I also have a folder called "crawl", and there are some pages in this folder too. Now I want all these pages(i.e. pages in pages library and pages inside the "crawl" folder) to be returned to me. I am using below code

SPWeb web = site.OpenWeb();

publishingWeb = PublishingWeb.GetPublishingWeb(web);

PublishingPageCollection pages = publishingWeb.GetPublishingPages();

But here the pages collection returns only the pages present in the pages library and not inside the "crawl" folder. Any way I can get pages from both the sources???

Cannot access pages using /_layouts//.aspx

I have a development server on which we have implemented a number of application pages. We can access these using the url format:

Cannot access pages using http:/<site>/_layouts/<folder>/<page>.aspx

This also works for subsites:

Cannot access pages using http:/<site>/<subsite>/_layouts/<folder>/<page>.aspx

Now I am trying to implement these pages on our production server and I am getting file does not exist errors. Any thoughts on why this might be?

Allow a person to edit a single page in the pages folder.

Is it possible to set edit permissions on one page in the Pages folder for a single person.  We are able to set contributor on the page, but the user is still not able to edit the page properly.  If we set contributor on the Pages folder, the user can edit any page in the folder.  We want to have the user only edit a single page in the folder.

We are using MOSS 2007 with Publishing feature turned on (of course).

ASP.NET Menu with jQuery Superfish

Choosing the right type of menu for a website is not easy at all. The ASP.NET Menu Control is definitely NOT a good starting point due to the horrendous markup it renders, nor is it good for SEO because of the Markup/Content ratio, neither can it be easily styled.
