Rendering Issues when embedding Notepad inside a WPF Window

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 24, 2010    Points: 0   Category :WPF

My end goal is not to embed Notepad inside of a WPF window. I am using Notepad to demonstrate this issue because I am having the same problems with Notepad that I do when I attempt to embed a Labview Virtual Instrument into a WPF window.

The primary problem I am having is that there are rendering problems with the embedded Notepad window whenever I move or maximize the window. I am looking for advice on how I can make it so that the embedded window will not have these rendering issues.

My second problem is that I would like the embedded window to take up the full size of the form whenever the form is resized. If this is not possible, I'll just prevent resizing of the WPF window.

You can download my VS2010 C# 4.0 WPF solution from here: http://rapidshare.com/files/426808705/Win32Fun.zip

Does the ReportViewer control print button work inside of a modal MSIE window?

I am getting the following two error messages when using the new ReportViewer v10 control after pressing the toolbar print button. I am only seeing this error inside of a modal popup window in MSIE. The print button in a normal popup window doesn't have this error. An error occurred trying to get the current window Error: Could not complete the operation due to error 8007f305. If anyone knows of a quick fix, please let me know. Thank you. VS2010, MSIE 8, SQL Server 2008.

Ribbon rendering issues - Bug?

I am trying to implement a Ribbon menu in my application, but I am running into some issues. If I "manually" code everything in XAML, it is fine, but if I use ViewModels and Templates, the Label on the RibbonGroups is placed incorrectly. An example:   <ribbon:Ribbon.Resources> <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type vm:CommandViewModel}"> <ribbon:RibbonButton Label="{Binding Label}" SmallImageSource="{Binding SmallIconPath}" LargeImageSource="{Binding LargeIconPath}" ToolTip="Placeholder Tooltip" /> </DataTemplate> <HierarchicalDataTemplate DataType="{x:Type vm:CommandGroupViewModel}" ItemsSource="{Binding Commands}"/> <ribbon:RibbonGroup Header="Test"/> </HierarchicalDataTemplate> </ribbon:Ribbon.Resources> <ribbon:RibbonTab Header="Home" KeyTip="H" ItemsSource="{Binding RibbonCommandGroups}"/>   The correct elements are rendered, meaning that my ViewModels and Templates are correctly bound, but the Text "Test" is rendered half way below the RibbonBar buttom. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?

How can a popup a window containing the data inside my TextBox?

Hi all, I have a DataGrid which has a  Multiline TextBox. I only display 3 rows and the user can scroll down to see the rest of the data.However I'd to open up a window, baloon, whatever every time the user hover the mouse over the TextBox area. And when he moves the mouse out, the window should close automatically. Any ways to do that? some nice samples? I rather have it all in Asp.Net but Javascript is cool too. Thank you all!

How to create a window a user can move around inside of a flow panel?

WPF WebBrowser Control on x64 machines Launches new IE window instead of staying inside of control.

I have a WPF app that uses an embedded WebBrowser control.  I have been using this as a video player (i would have used MediaPlayer, but it doesn't support H.264 in XP)  Anyway, I am using a 3rd party video player to display the h.264 videos, and this has been working fine.

We started testing on 64 bit Windows 7 and now whenever we attempt to play the videos, the WebBrowser launches a separate IE window and plays the video there instead of within my app.

I have googled this bug and have seen hints about handling the NewWindow2 event, but have yet to see a decent example that isn't a total HACK..

Does anybody know a way to stop the WebBrowser control from launching separate IE windows on a 64 bit OS?

Thanks a lot,

Pie Charts rendering outside chart window

I hope someone can help me.  I have a report that uses several charts and while they render fine in SSRS, when I deploy them the Report Manager shows the pie charts that are too big and fall outside of the chart window. Also, when I run them though our report.aspx page I am getting charts that duplicate and fall outside the entire parameters section.  Now I can't get to the export drop down option because the duplicated charts are covering it.  Not sure if this makes any sense.

Anyway it is my guess that the charts are fine (since they look ok in ssrs) so it is something in my report.apsx page or some configuration that is messed up.

Again thank you in advance for any help...

Modifing ".ajax__tab_xp-theme" for "ajaxToolkit:TabContainer" inside asp:wizard known issues ???

This Post comes  from: http://forums.asp.net/p/1609311/4116646.aspx#4116646

I'm using ASP:Wizard with two pages and a TabContainer inside each wizard step. I need to change "ajax__tab_body" default background-color:#ffffff to transparent color.

I have the following scenario:

- AJAX copied and added to project from "D:\AJAX Control Toolkit\AjaxControlToolkit\.."

- My stylesheet.css which contain the ".ajax__tab_xp-theme" modified theme as class: ".MyTabStyle" located in "~\css\stylesheet.css"

- A copy of AJAX Tab images in "~\images\tab.gif" "tab-hover.gif", "tab-active.gif" ...

1. What happens between first and second load of wizard cause I can see it takes different syles css?

2. Most important: When I load the wizard the first time everything is OK, if I go to second page of Wizard It comes the rendering issue:

  - The right image of each tab "tab-right.gif" appears separated from the tab see here: Why ?

This is the class I modified:

Issues with rendering patial view

I am totally a new bee in asp.net mvc. Let me now explain my issue. I have a strongly typed view which inherits from a view model Document. I want to have a partial view in that view itself. My code for this purpose is :

<%@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/Site.Master" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<HexsolveMVC.Models.Document>" %>

Virtual Keyboard wont write to a textbox on the parent Window, but will on an external app (notepad)

I have a window (window1) it has a textbox (debugging purposes)..

The code behind creates a new Window PDFViewer. This window has a button that triggers a virtual keyboard control.

If I run the application and click the keyboard button and then open notepad.. All works well. It writes into note pad. So that tells me the virtual keyboard works.

However, if I click into the textbox and type nothing happends. It appears that the textbox looses focus, cursor disappears when I click on the virtual keyboard.

If I type into the textbox with my regualar keyboard it types into the textbox.

Why is the virtual keyboard not able to type into the textbox on the parent window?? agggggh

 <Window x:Class.....

<TextBox Width="150" Height="50"></TextBox>

private PDFViewer pdfCntrl;

   pdfCntrl = new PDFViewer();
   pdfCntrl.Owner = this;

Now in the PDFViewer  code..

What are the steps or any known issues with rendering MP4 files within MOSS 2007 enterprise/WSS 3.0

Rendering controls via Loop inside Render

I am creatin a server control where
some controls are being rendered inside  `protected override void Render(HtmlTextWriter writer)`

    writer.AddAttribute(HtmlTextWriterAttribute.Type, "button");
    writer.AddAttribute(HtmlTextWriterAttribute.Id, this.UniqueID + "butto_Foo1");
    writer.AddAttribute(HtmlTextWriterAttribute.Value, "Button1");
    writer.RenderEndTag(); //button
    writer.AddAttribute(HtmlTextWriterAttribute.Type, "button");
    writer.AddAttribute(HtmlTextWriterAttribute.Id, this.UniqueID + "butto_Foo2");
    writer.AddAttribute(HtmlTextWriterAttribute.Value, "Button2");
    writer.RenderEndTag(); //button

This way buttons are rendered on design view as well.
The problem is that number of buttons to render is dynamic based on data in xml file (even if the data was static, the number of button is about 12 and I don't think it is wise to copy paste the same code above 6 times...).

I thought by using loop

Accessing the different controls inside a GridView control

how we can access a particular control which resides inside a GridView control. In this article I will show you how you can access different controls inside a GridView control. We will see how we can access a TextBox control, a DropDownList control and a ListBox control.
