Posted By:      Posted Date: October 24, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

I Published my Sharepoint Foundation 2010 with a TMG 2010 (SP1).
When I try to access my published site with https://docs.<name>.net/
it doesn't bring me to my Sharepoint Site.

When I call https://docs.<name>.net/sitepages/home.aspx
I can see and work with my Sharepoint.

What do I need/miss that my Site can be reached https://docs.<name>.net/

One thing to mention: I sucessfully published my Sharepoint 2010 (no Foundation) in tha same environment with the same TMG.

Thanks in advance for your help

Build an Easy Maintenance Intranet Site: Using Office Docs, File System Object, and OLE Structured S

If you've ever needed to build an easy-to-maintain intranet site, here's a solution based on Microsoft Office documents. Many sites require constant updating of their HTML, but the use of Word documents can simplify the process. This article details the construction of a human resources site that exploits the File System Object (FSO), OLE Structured Storage, and ActiveX capabilities of Word documents. This allows the HR staff to copy their revised or newly created Word files to the site, dynamically generate a list of links to their files, and free IS from the constant recoding of HR updates into new HTML pages.

Any decent docs on DD? All the ones I found are for .NET 3.5

I've been trying to find some up-to-date docs for DD in .NET 4 and have beens struggling. Most of the info out there seems to be for 3.5, along with a lot of comments about not using now as there's so much new stuff in the latest version.

I've seen the MSDN pages, which look typical MSDN, ie great if you want to look up a specific feature, but not necessarily the best place to learn from scratch.

Anyone know of any good learnign resources?

Limiting Search Scopes to Articles, .docs, .xls, etc.

We have a customized site with a number of workarounds, which has necessitated using multiple pages to display data. EG, a contributor might use an "AnnouncementUPLOAD.aspx" page to add data displayed through a Web Part on "Announcement.aspx". I know I can Security Trim at the page and DocLib levels which would carry over into what's revealed by Search, but I'm curious if I can handle this through Scopes. So, if I ran a search for "George Washington", I'd want to return: items in DocLibs (ie Office Documents) items from Announcements, but NOT the full Announcement List. (ie not the http://.../pages/Announcement.aspx page, but the http://.../lists/Announcement.aspx page.) Doable? Thanks!

Windows 2008 R2 Clustering docs

Evening, Can someone point me to a step-by-step doc to set up clustering on a Windows 2008 R2 server. Need doc(s) to first install clustering on the server and then doc(s) to install a SQL Server cluster on the server. Thanks!

Can edit, but can't view Word docs in web apps.

I'm having a very odd problem with the Word web app.  I can view some word docs on my sharepoint site, but when I try and view others I get the "... Unexpected Error" problem with others.  The ones where I get the error I can click the drop down and select "edit in web browser" and it works fine!  Very odd, these docs are in the same doc lib.  So, how can I edit, but not view?  Very strange and frustrating.....  Any one else see this before?

Also, I looked in all the logs and I don't see any extra infromation.  :(

CAML query to pick docs where modified is older than today.

Hi I am looking for a CAML query which will return all documents throughout the site collection
for docs which have a Modified that have past today.
I cant seem to do this.

I have a query so far as this and it comes up with an error 'The property Query contains invalid value'

SPSiteDataQuery q = new SPSiteDataQuery();
q.ViewFields = "<FieldRef Name=\"Modified\"/>";
q.Lists = "<Lists ServerTemplate=\"101\"/>";
q.Webs = "<Webs Scope=\"SiteCollection\"/>";
q.Query = "<where><Geq><FieldRef Name='Modified' /><Value Type='DateTime'><Today OffsetDays='-1' /></Value></Geq></where>";

How do you do this ??

Site export/import not getting all docs in a library

I am using stsadm to move a site form one site collection to another and for some reason a doc library in the restored site is missing docs. Any thoughts?

Import Word docs with Metadata into SharePoint 2010 from Windows Server 2003

I need to import 700 Word docs (2003 & 2007) from Windows Server 2003 into a SharePoint Server 2010 library.  I only have a test server to work with right now and want to do as much pre-work before we launch the actual server.

My goal: When we launch the shpt server, import all docs into a library so that columns propagate with metatdata automatically.

I'm not sure what the best approach is...

Can I can open each doc and add custom properties (maybe with InfoPath) to import as metadata, then import managed metadata through the term store tool and have it associate with the manually entered custom properties? I don't fully understand managed metadata, which might pose a problem.  And before I start importing terms, I thought I should find out if I've completely misunderstood how taxonomies work.

Or I have an excel spreadsheet with info about each doc in columns that can act as metadata. I could upload this as a list then associate each doc with the list.  But it seems wiser to enter the metadata into the documets.

Is it possible to update my docs in advance so that uploading goes smoothly? I have help now for data entry that I won't have later.

I have no resources to spend on tools, and have to figure out and build this&nbs

Create CAML for listing docs from a document library which has subfolders as well.

Hi imagine a doc library in sharepoint holding PDF's called DocA.
DocA has subfolders e.g DocA\sub1, DocA\sub2
I am writing a CAML query to extract PDF's which were created older than 7 days.
My issues is i cant get the PDf's items in CAML query and it just shows the folder only.

Here is my code.

SPSite site = new SPSite(Site);
SPWeb web = site.OpenWeb();
SPList list = web.Lists["DocA"];
string querystring = "<Leq>" +
                     "<FieldRef Name='Created' />" +
                     "<Value Type='DateTime'><Today /></Value>" +

SPQuery query = new SPQuery();
query.RecurrenceOrderBy = true;

query.Query = querystring;
DataTable table = list.GetItems(query).GetDataTable();
return table;

wrong action: http://docs.oasis-open.org/ws-sx/ws-trust/200512/RSTR/Issue

I have developed a sample using WS-Trust 2005 (securityMessageVersion WSSecurity11WSTrustFebruary2005... ) and now I want to use WSSecurity11WSTrust13...  as I got the requirement to use WS-Trust 1.3.

I have my WS-Trust 2005 sample running, but unfortunately, when I try to migrate to WS-Trust 1.3, the following error occurs when the client receives the RSTR message:

The negotiation security message has the wrong action 'http://docs.oasis-open.org/ws-sx/ws-trust/200512/RSTR/Issue'.

I've got configured the client to use WS-Trust 1.3, so I don't know what's missing. Any idea?

Here's the client's app.config

2. If it not possible through OOB how can I achieve this ?

SharePoint Server 2010 - API to convert word docs to FILTERED HTML

Using word automation services, we cannot convert a doc/docx to FILTERED html, which can be done on client side using "saveas".

Is there any unexposed API through which one can achieve this using SharePointServer2010 + c# programatically.

or any alternative way to get FILTERED HTML format file from doc/docx?

I knew the way to do this as a client side application. This can be acheived simply by recording macros.

Using WebDav & RoboCopy to copy docs between Document Libraries

I am trying to automate the process of copying documents between SharePoint 2010 document libraries using a RoboCopy job which calls WebDav. My Farm is running on Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V.

What is most puzzling (and annoying) is that I have a development environment where the job works perfectly - it is in staging and production where I am having problems. Throughout all of the environments I can successfully browse to the document libraries in question using Explorer View.

This is the command I am running:

ROBOCOPY \\%serveralias%\DavWWWroot\sites\%library1% "\\"serveralias%\DavWWWroot\sites\%library%

And these are the error messages I'm receiving:

Error 1 - The specified network name is no longer available

Error 2 - A device attached to the system is not functioning

I can confirm that the following are running:

Desktop Experience (via Server Manager), WebClient (Via Windows Services)

Does anyone have any suggestions?

The Quick Launch item for the Wiki is no longer bringing up the Home.aspx page

I created a new Wiki Page Library a couple of days ago called "Team Wiki". After playing around with the wiki pages a bit. The default Quick Launch item for the wiki was called "Team Wiki" on the left navigation bar in the default theme. The link when I hover over the "Team Wiki" text points to ".../Team%20Wiki/" which it always has. However, when I click the link it takes me to the URL ".../Team%20Wiki/Forms/AllPages.aspx" instead of the URL ".../Team%20Wiki/Home.aspx" which it used to by default a couple of days ago. Is there any way for me to get my default Quick Launch item to point back to the URL ".../Team%20Wiki/Home.aspx"? The default Home.aspx page is still in the same location as the How%20To%20Use%20This%20Wiki%20Site.aspx page is.

Unable to copy Office docs

I cannot copy Office docs from a SharePoint server to a local drive using the WebDAV client.  If I rename the file extension it can be copied.  I can also open the file and then Save As locally.  Copying docs from a local drive to the SharePoint server works fine.  The problem seems to be isolated to .doc, .xls and .ppt files accross all sites on the server.

The Windows XP error is "Cannot copy ....: The parameter is incorrect".  In Vista the error is "The file name you specified is not valid or too long."  Mapping a drive and using xcopy: "File creation error - The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect."

The server is running unpatched MOSS 2007.

Any advice?
