OK, I must be missing something here.
If I turned on Alerts for one library and then decide I don't want to get the alerts anymore, how do I turn them Off?

Is there any way to send e-mail alerts to a specific user wihtout assigning them the task or having them subscribe to the list.
It's a Task List on WSS 3 on Win2k3 Enterprise'
Hello and Goodmorning,
I have one list, organized with 3 folders.
I can create a group(s), add user(s) to this group(s).
Now i need to assign access like this: group1 can only see and 'readonly' folder1, group2 can only see and 'readonly' folder2, group3 can only see and 'readonly'...folder3!
Im sure this is possible, from similar non-programming posts on the forum.
I have been looking into SPRoleAssignment and SPRoleDefinition to define Group permissions but its the mapping them to specific folders that I am missing...
Enjoy your tea.
I am running Sharepoint foundation 2010, and have created a eventreceiver projet in VS2010. I choose "Custom list" to fire an event to my one of my custom lists. But I can't choose which custom list I want to add the event to, how can I select a single custom
list instead of all custom lists?
I want to have a form where the user can specify how many items she wants to create for a custom sharepoint list? When submitting the form, that will start creation of X number of new items in a custom Sharepoint list.
Is this doable with forms?
I want to hide the "All Day Event","Recurrence",Workspace of calendar list in email alerts
I want to give a user or group read access to a folder and not be able to view or read any other folder in a site collection. How do i do this?
When i grant the user read permission to this single library he is able to read all the other libraries in this site collection
I have a SharePoint 2010 list that manages work orders, but I can't find a way to create a view that shows only one record in a receipt-like format. I have seen that there is the capability to use XSLT to create custom views, but I can't see where
I would upload/edit this in SharePoint Designer (I have Visual Studio, but haven't started using it yet for SharePoint development)
Here is an example of what I want to do...
Fields in the List:
Date | Customer Name | Description | Quote
I'd like to print out a receipt that looks like this:
Customer Name: Joe Smith
Description: Level 1 Tune-Up
I'm assuming that a View (which can be printed) would be the easiest way to do this, and that a custom Web Part would be the best but also a lot more work.
I have an external content list - for my purposes, the data isn't any fancier than a list of terms provided by a web service (read only - I don't need update/delete functionality). I want to be able to link any subset of those terms to a single document
metadata column (in other words, I need it to work like a normal content list that is defined to allow multiple values in a column) but SharePoint doesn't let me do that on an ECL. I need the content list to be externally driven since more values are going
to be added to an outside system over time, but I think it's possible that I may not need a full-fledged ECL list to make this work this way in SharePoint.
Just to clarify: I don't need the metadata values in my documents to maintain a PERSISTENT link to the web service (if someone changes an underlying value in the web service DB, it doesn't need to be updated in the document table too). I just want SharePoint
to offer up an updated set of source values from the web service if somebody goes in and edits the document metadata.
Any ideas for how I can make this work?
I've developed a custom event receiver that fires of the ItemUpdated
event for a list. While this code works fine in our dev environment, it appears to not function correctly in production. I have been told that there's another event receiver that also fires on the
ItemUpdated event for the same list.
From the behavior I have seen, it would appear the the two event receivers are "colliding" with one other. Is there anything that I can do to work around this problem? Is there a way to specify an order that the receivers are fired or some other
way to prevent them from stepping on each other?
I have a simple SharePoint 2010 list named "Tips". Each item consists of a Title and Description. I want to display a single item at a time in a sidebar on my site with arrows to advance to the next or previous item in the list. I've been able to accomplish
this pretty easily using OOTB SharePoint XSLT list view web part settings and AJAX. However, when I tell the web part to only display 1 item at a time the pager always says it's showing item "1 of 1" or "2 of 2". It won't show the total number of items from
the list. I'd like it to show something like item "1 of 25", etc. How do I get it to display the total count of items from the list? I've looked at possibly using aggregation attributes on a FieldRef but I've not been able to get anything to work. I'm
not even sure that's the right place to be looking. I'm needing to accomplish this without writing a custom web part.
I'm hoping someone can provide some insight into a problem I'm having.
I have been tasked with trying to find a way to create multiple sites within the same site collection with a standard Task list in each site. Now, I'd like to combine each of those task lists into one single task list viewable by the managers.
I know I can create a dataview, however I haven't been able to get that view into Outlook using the "Connect to Outlook" option in the Actions Menu of a task list.
Is there a way this can be done?
Any help is appreciated.
