SQL Assertions

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 24, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

Hello Everyone,

I know how to create assertions.

for instance,consider the following:

CREATE ASSERTION quota_valid
  CHECK((OFFICES.QUOTA<=SUM(SALESREPS.QUOTA)) AND
            (SALESREPS.REP_OFFICE=OFFICES.OFFICE))

This is just a simple assertion.

My question is how to use it?I mean do we include it in an sql statement?I know that we do not create an assertion during the time we create a table.Like domains,it is specified outside of the table.So where do we create it exactle and how do we call it??

many thanks
