I know there are many articles on the net regarding this topic however im not quite sure how to implement it. Most of the articles hard-code the url in the web.config but I want it to be dynamic.
Here is my situation and the most common scenario . I have a list of products displayed in a grid in say www.mydomain.com/products When an individual product is clicked, you are redirected to it's details page e.g (www.mydomain.com/products/productdetails.aspx?id=8) So basically I want it to be rewritten with the category name plus the actual product name something like this:
This article http://dotnetguts.blogspot.com/2008/07/url-rewriting-with-urlrewriternet.html is the closest to my requirements. It uses UrlRewriter.Net however one tiny thing that I don't like is that it appends the id to the generated url.
