In the past we have always executed a static or dynamic queries to limit the amount of data that came back from the server. We then worked with the subset of data. Currently most of the wpf, mvvm, entity framework articles that I have seen return
and work with full sets of data. Is the historical method of limiting data now passe? I've found articles about dynamic linq but havent found a simple way to add dynamic parameters to linq queries. A trivial example being, "If the name field is empty do not
query on the name, if the name field has a value then add the name condition to the linq query". Any input would be appreciated.
