How to disable Office Web Apps (OWA) for the MySite Web Application in SP 2010?

We have OWA installed on the SP 2010 farm and works fine. We would like to disable the OWA functionality only on the MySite Web App. We want to use OWA on the other web application that hosts our team sites. What are my options?

Office Web Apps: Disabling the feature and just normally download Office documents?

Apparently it's not a good idea to uninstall Office Web Apps, as it leaves the farm in an inconsistent state. (http://blogs.architectingconnectedsystems.com/blogs/cjg/archive/2010/04/30/Uninstalling-Office-Web-Apps-_2D00_-Be-Careful_2100_.aspx) Is there a way to disable Office Web Apps after it's been installed and activated? I tried disabling the service in the Site Collection Managed features, but when I click on a document it still opens in the Office Web Apps instead of downloading it to my computer.

Do you need to license Office Web Apps seperate from sharepoint server 2010 enterprise license?

Hi All, I been reading this article http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff431687.aspx#bkmk_ins_exis_farm  and have come to the conculsion that if you want word viewing services and power point services you need to license and download office web apps separate from the SharePoint Licensing/download. Can anyone confirm this that may know more about the subject? I thought those services would come along with enterprise but from what I’m reading I guess not.   Regards, Jeff

Office Web Apps - View Word doc in the browser error

I have been trying to figure out why I keep getting this error everytime I try to view a word docx document in the brower of my SharePoint Server 2010 site. Office Web Apps - View in Excel not present

I installed on out SharePoint 2010 server Office Web Apps. With some problems I finally could get Word and PowerPoint working. I had an issue where Edit in browser of both formats worked fine, but View did not. I threw an some errors. My event viewer displayed SQL Server error complaining about SPService account does not have permissions to sertain WSS_Content_ database. The viewers started to work after I granted the Account some priviliges.

But now I can't seem to get Excel working in Web Apps. On Excel files I won't have the required actions (Edit in browser and View in browser). I also noted that on Central Administration Manage Service Application -> New doesn't have the Excel Viewing Service possibility.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Office Web Apps installation problem

I'm trying to install Office Web Apps on a WinSrv2008 R2 with SharePoint 2010.
The problem that occur is that when I run the setup.exe in the root folder of Office 2010, it doesn't prompt me for a product key.

The installation just progresses and installs the whole Office package on the server.

There must be a work-around for this.
Any ideas?

the version of Office Web Apps is 14.0.4763.1000

Is that a Beta or RTM version?

How can I check the version of Office Web Apps?

Open document(s) in Office web apps (from User controls)

Hi forum,

In my sharepoint application we are using Visual web part (with User control) to display document(s) stored in a Document Library of my sharepoint site.

And we WANT to open the document, from Hyperlink in Usercontrol, in Office web apps. Which could be done as suggested in following link

but the issue with that is it shows the Header & Toolbar which are not required in our case.

I tried playing with the below URL by adding variour request query string parameters like '&popup=1' . But No lock.

Currently i'm trying to find out OWA web part which does the needful for me.

Please share your opinion on the same. Any pointer on the same are warmly welcome.

Thanks in advance
