MemberGroupManager Class /w Multiple Farms

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 22, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

In MOSS 2007 MemberGroupManager will rollup User's SharePoint Sites Membership, for that SSP, but now the User Profile Service Application in SharePoint 2010 can be shared, I believe across Farms, so will the Users' profile contain all Sites Membership within all Farms using Service?  Does any documentation exist for multiple Farms using top level Services Farm for Profile, Matadata, and other services?

Thanks in advance.

Server Farms: Application Center 2000 Offers World-Class Scalability

Application Center 2000 simplifies the deployment of a Microsoft .NET-based application to clusters, which are shared-nothing, loosely coupled computers that appear as one virtual computer. This allows all the computers in Application Center 2000 clusters to provide the same service or Web application at the same time. This article explains network load balancing and component load balancing for COM+ components with Application Center 2000. Accessing the features of Application Center 2000 though the MMC snap-in interface and the command-line interface for batching administrative tasks is also covered.

Storing multiple data types in a class?

I need help writing a class that will contain three values per item.  I'll be passing parameters to a report: Parameter Name, Data type (int, string, date, etc), and Value. When I pass those values to the report using the class they should be in original form (i.e. an integer should be a numeric, a string should be a string, etc.).  I can do it converting the data's value to strings on one end, and reconverting to the original data type on the other, which seems like a lot of runaround. Is there a simple way?  Also, if I'm able to store & retrieve the data in it's native format I don't need the "Data type" stored. Any help or tips will be appreciated.

Questions about creating a class that returns multiple values

Hey all,

I am a little stumped, been trying to find some references to this but I am coming up with more confusion than anything else.lol

Here is my scenario using asp.net and VB.

I have an aspx page with about 10 label controls on it and a couple of image controls. Their data will be all populated dynamically by a single URL query string that is passed to a 3rd party url query string that retrieves an xml document with all of the information on it. I am currently just using the page load event and from that I can get everything I need and populate the page elements no problem with all of the code existing on the aspx.vb page.

However I thought for this project as I go forward I would like to create a vb class that handles all of the work instead of using the code behind page which has become quit convoluted.

I am not completely new to creating classes, I've done them before, and some pretty complex however this one is new due to the fact that I want to return multiple values.

So my thought is to approach it this way.

1.       On the page load event I grab the URL query string, and pass it to the vb class to begin the process.

2.       In the class I create a function that loads the xml document into memory.

3.     &n

How would you handle this? Multiple instance of a custom class...

Forgive me if this isn't the appropriate place.

I have the following data.

BATCH	CODE	HOUR	SAMPLE	FILTER	FINAL	BLANK	uNDF
10484	1	30	0.5011	0.4630	0.5254	0.0081	10.8362
10484	1	30	0.5061	0.4666	0.5363	0.0075	12.2901
10484	1	30	0.5051	0.4688	0.5383	0.0060	12.5718
10484	1	30	0.5064	0.4623	0.5352	0.0074	12.9344
10484	2	30	0.5035	0.4637	0.5371	0.0074	13.1082
10484	2	30	0.5092	0.4726	0.5397	0.0075	11.7046
10484	2	30	0.5051	0.4645	0.5368	0.0060	13.1261
10484	2	30	0.5062	0.4642	0.5392	0.0081	13.2161

 I am using the following class.

using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Linq;
using System.Web;

namespace CvasAdmin.Classes
{
  public class invitro
  {
    [Serializable]
    public class invitroDetail
    {
      // pk of the foxpro Dbf
      public double sampleid;

Multiple File Upload Class

I'm using this example here:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa479405.aspx

And have added some GUID for unique filenames.

I'm in the middle of trying to get the 3 filenames as strings and thought I'd put it in an external class file, but when I build the page:

.cs
public class MultipleFileUploader
{
    public static Boolean doMultipleFileUploader(string sFileUpload01,
        string sFileUpload02, string sFileUpload03)
    {
        HttpFileCollection uploadedFiles = Request.Files;
        string sFileGuid = System.Guid.NewGuid().ToString();
        for (int i = 0; i < uploadedFiles.Count; i++)
        {
            HttpPostedFile userPostedFile = uploadedFiles[i];
            try
            {
                if (userPostedFile.ContentLength > 0)
                {
                    string serverFileName = Path.GetFileName(userPostedFile.FileName);
                    string getFileExtension = Path.GetExtension(serverFileName);//get the file extension
                    string sSaveLocation = Server.MapPath(sFilePath + "/") + sFileGuid + getFileExtension;
                    userPostedFile.SaveAs(sSaveLocation);
                    string sFileName = sFileGuid + serverFileName;
                    string FinalFileName = sFileGuid + getFileExtension;
                    HttpContex

Using a class multiple times on one page

I have a class in my App_Code folder called Order. On one of my pages I am trying to create two different orders using this class.

Private Order1 As Order
Private Order2 As Order

Sub Page_Load(ByVal Sender As Object, ByVal E As EventArgs) Handles Me.Load

        Dim CartID As String = "4525543"
        Order1 = GetOrderFromDatabase(CartID)
        Order2 = Order1

        Order2.Shipping = 3
        Order1.Shipping = 2

        Response.Write(Order1.Shipping)
        Response.Write(Order2.Shipping)

  End Sub

When I run the page each of the Response.Write statements ouputs a 2. But this is not correct. One should be 3 and the other should be 2. Does anyone know why this is not working?

Multiple database support with Entity Framework

One of the features introduced in Entity Framework is being database independent. Which mean each database provider can support Entity Framework by implementing its provider.

This feature allows you build applications independent from the underplaying database provider. In this post I'm going to show how to build an application that support multiple databases using same conceptual model made by Entity Framework.

Class Diagrams

Class diagrams show the static structure of the systems. Classes define the properties of the objects which belong to them. These include:

Attributes - (second container) the data properties of the classes including type, default value and constraints.

Creating a Simple Class in C#

The second article in the C# Object-Oriented Programming tutorial describes how classes are created in C# and how behaviour, in the form of publicly visible and private, hidden methods can be added. This demonstrates some of the uses of encapsulation

Static Class for Beginners

In general, the members of a class can be accessed by instance of that class when they are in public, but there comes a situation to access or call members of a class without an instance and this can be achieved by declaring them as static

Multiple Column Dropdownlist for the ASP.NET DataGrid

Based on my previous control "Multiple Column DropDownList for ASP.NET", I received many emails asking for the same control to be used in the DataGrid for web applications. Here we go.. This control can be used as the regular MS DropDownList in the DataGrid and also as a regular dropdownlist. It has all the properties, like DataTextField, DataValueField, DataSource, SelectedIndex etc. The download file contains the samples both in VB.NET and C#. In this sample, I have used the Northwind database of SQL Server.

ASP.NET Multiple Selection DropDownList with AJAX HoverMenuExtender

Recently, I was looking for a multiple selection dropdownlist control for my new project. After spending some time researching for it, I decided to put together all my finding in one web user control. This web user control consists of an ASP.NET AJAX HoverMenuExtender, JavaScript, StyleSheet and CheckBoxListExCtrl . The final product will work with or without a MasterPage and you can drag and drop more than one instances of the control on to the page.
