Applying SQL 2008 SP1 CU 2 in MOSS environment

Posted By:      Posted Date: August 26, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Hi all,

I have a dedicated SQL 2008 x64 std edtion with SP1  for MOSS 2007 SP2, I would like to apply the CU2 for activating the lock memory page feature, I would like to know if there any incidence on the sharepoint farm after applying this CU on my SQL server?

Thank you for your feedback about that.

SQL 2008 servers and MOSS 2007 with SSRS

I need help figuring out the limitations in a multi-database server environment and MOSS 2007 installation with SSRS.  Here is the run down:

  • I currently have MOSS 2007 server with backend on SQL 2005, which also acts as the SSRS server.  In addition I have another SQL 2005 server where business data resides and against which most of the SSRS reports run.
  • Future plan (over which I don't really have a say) is MOSS 2007 with backend on SQL 2008, which will remain to be the SSRS server.  The second SQL server with business data will be migrated to SQL 2008 R2.

Questions: does this architecture requires SSRS 2008 add-in or SSRS 2008 R2 add-in (integrated mode)?  Will there be an issue of building SSRS 2008 reports that go after SQL 2008 R2 and SQL 2008 data mix?

it says reloaded  from the system restored

i am still getting the same error.

When i manually go to my  C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.0\Windows Workflow Foundation i can see a folder for SQL that's it nothing more than that..

Applying custom CSS to the MOSS 2007 Calendar control Month view

hi,

I have a requirement to use the MOSS 2007 Calendar Control - month view is to apply a custom css to have a look and feel as per our requirements.

We tried applying the custom css to the MOSS 2007 calendar control - month view, it does take the custom css and applies it, but when i click on any date and come back to the calendar control, it changes the CSS of the MOSS calendar control back to the default one.

Let me know if anyone has any suggestion on  how to customize the calendar control for css for our intranet application.

Your response would be highly appreciated.

regards

SQL Server 2008/MOSS 2007 Reporting Nightmares

I am having issues of the Reporting services kind...I have 2 issues in regards to executing rdl report files (excel reports work fine) when they're read through sharepoint reporting.I'll give you a rundown of the components and layout I'm using first of all. I'm going to put in as much information as I can find, so if you see things that are irrelevant it's just because I want to dump as much as I can incase it tweaks someones brain. FYI I have rebooted the computers and IIS many, many times.Servers:Both of the machines below are VMs on Xenserver. We run on a /23 network for these servers. The domain functional level is Windows 2000 mixed (yeah, I know). Devsp40: devsp40 is a Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 Enterprise edition x64 server (winver 5.2 R2 Build 3790.srv03_sp2_rtm.070216-1710 : Service Pack 2) running MOSS 2007 Enterprise SP2 and WSS 3.0 sp2 (it recommended I install that) x64. I extracted the install files and put the updates in the update folder for installation. The IP is 10.200.200.66. Visual Studio 2010 Lab Environment for Student to deploy to a IIS 7.5 web server with SQL 2008

Currently the environment I am trying to create is a teaching lab for Visual Studio 2010 and ASP.NET website development. The intent is to setup an environment where students can create a website with an attached database written with the assistance of Visual Studio 2010. When the website is completed they need to use one of the Visual Studio deploy technologies to upload the website to a locally run server (Windows 2008 R2 with IIS 7.5 running and SQL Server 2008.) I am responsible for setting up the correct deploy technology in Visual Studio as well as setting up the IIS 7.5 deployment server that is running the right version of SQL Server. I have already started this process and figured out how to configure a deployment package in visual studio and have it published on our local server. I am trying to get a very streamlined environment that does not require students have to configure a lot of SQL strings and IIS settings because this is not really what the teaching lab is all about. Just to let you know, we have had  this exact setup using Visual Studio 2008, Server 2003 with front page server extensions on IIS 6.0 and SQL Server Compact edition running on the server. My issue is that since it is now time to update everything there does not seem to be something comparable. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If someone has an idea of the

After applying a self-signed cert to MOSS 2007 web app, IIS 6.0 sets the IP Address back to default

I am trying to configure FBA with SSL on my moss 2007 farm, but after web apps are created, and I switch the Authentication Provider for the "FBA" zone (Extranet), it changes the IP's back to default, so then I switch it back to the right IP, and run the SelfSSL.exe to assign the cert, then go back and check the IP, it is set back to default. I need to set the IP because, without it, it stops the site. This is the IP listed under "Multiple SSL identities for this Web Site". This behavior has to have surfaced before, Any idea?
