SAP Connector 1.0 for SAP BI

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 22, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

Has anyone tried the SAP Connector 1.0 for SAP BI?  It is a component for SSIS that allows you to move data in bulk to and from SAP BI 7.0 via SAP's Open Hub Services.  I have followed the example in the published white paper "Using SQL Server 2008 Integration Services with SAP BI 7.0" but have had no luck.  I am able to connect to SAP BI and begin the extraction process but the SSIS package fails with an OutOfMemoryException.  It looks to me like the component may be having trouble interpreting the metadata coming back from SAP BI.

Here's the ouput.

BCS Custom Search Connector Concurrency

I wrote a custom search connector (.NET assembly) so that external ECM repositories can be indexed using either search service application (sharepoint or FAST).  However, the indexer process only calls my code one request at a time which isn't going to be fast enough in most cases.  I tried setting up a crawl impact rule, but still only a single request at a time.  If I change the impact rule to slow the crawl down, it works.  If I set the impact rule to handle 8 concurrent requests, it ignores it. Anybody have an idea on how I can get it to call my connector concurrently?Dan Hunsinger

Troubleshoot Microsoft Connector 1.0 for SAP BI

I have installed the Microsoft Connector 1.0 for SAP BI (April 2009 feature pack) on a Windows 2008 R2 server with SQL 2008 SP1 (Cum Update 6). I have established an SAP BI Connection and SAP BI Data Source. The Data Source is able identify the OHS_Destination, Process Chain, and respective Columns. Confirm that the librfc32.dll is installed correctly. The Output of the Data Source is connected to a simple OLEDB destination. When executing the package, it fails at the SAP BI Data Source with the following errors: [SAP BI Source] Error: Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.SapBw.Connectivity.ERPException: FAILED Execution failed.    at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.SapBw.Connectivity.RFCFunction.Execute()    at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.SapBw.Components.OHSExtractor.ExtractNow(Boolean InRuntimeMode, String GatewayHost, String GatewayService, String ProgramID, String ProcessChain, String DestinationName, String ExecutionMode, String PropertyRequestID, Int32 Timeout) [SAP BI Source [61]] Error: Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.SapBw.Connectivity.ERPException: FAILED Execution failed.    at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.SapBw.Components.OHSExtractor.ExtractNow(Boolean InRuntimeMode, String GatewayHost, String GatewayService, String ProgramID, String ProcessChain, String DestinationName, String ExecutionMode, String PropertyRequestID, Int32 Timeout)    at Mic

WF 4 State Machine connector and state

Hi, I've got a couple of questions 1. In WF 4 State Machine connector XAML i have this   <UserControl.ContextMenu x:Uid="cxtMenu"> <ContextMenu> <MenuItem Header="Open new window"/> </ContextMenu> right after  </UserControl.Resources> However, the context menu that I see is still StateMachineDesigner contextmenu. What is wrong?  2. For catching mouse double click on connector, there is "OnConnectorMouseDoubleClick", but I can't find something similar for state mouse double click ( I see that it works because it makes the activity visual root). How is this handled? 3. How I determin the activity which has a specific outgoing connector? "GetConnectorModelItem(DependencyObject obj)" returns StateMachine. I'm interested in getting a state somehow Thank you very much

SQL Reporting Services Data Connector for Dynamics CRM 4.0 issue

I can't find a Dynamics CRM topic and I'm hoping someone here will recognize the problem that we are having with integration between Dynamics and SRS.

Dynamics CRM server deployed fine. But we are having this problem when trying to install the Dynamics SRS Data Connector (an additional component that is supposed to be installed locally on the SRS server):

Trouble is, the SQL server is a default instance, and SRS is hosted on a default web site listening on port 80. In fact, this is just a plain default install of SQL 2005 and SRS 2005 on one server. Nothing has been customized. And yet we get this error when we try to install SRS Data Connector on the local SRS machine:

"Unable to validate SQL Server Reporting Services Report Server installation. Please check that it is correctly installed on the local machine."

But the SRS is installed and running fine! I can even see and run reports that the Dynamics CRM Server install had created on the SRS server! And yet the setup program insists that SRS is not installed and it won't proceed with installation.

Probelms with SAP BI Connector

Hi All,

We are using SAP Bi Connector to retrieve data from SAP BW through OHS using SAP BI Connector.

However , we get errors sometimes and we are not sure whether this is a error from SSIS side or SAP side or is it becuase of some server constraints [High usgae]

Error is :

BCS Connector

I am trying to create a list based on an external content type. In that process I created a BCS to SQL Datatbase table which has more than 8000 records. When I set up the BCS connection I basically used the default settings. Now when I try to create the list based on that content type, I am getting the following error:

Database Connector has throttled the response. The response from database contains more than '2000' rows. The maximum number of rows that can be read through Database Connector is '2000'. The limit can be changed via the 'Set-SPBusinessDataCatalogThrottleConfig' cmdlet.

Any pointers as to how I can change the limit?

MySql connector/net problem

I have a asp.net 4.0 site that can't connect to my hosting company's Mysql server

im using Mysql connector/net 6.3.4 also installed on host server.
i can run the site from my dev server or from my web Hosts server. as long as the connection string host name points to my dev mysql server ....all is good work great.
i have also tried using another company's hosted mysql server... everything works good.

all three databases were created from same dump file...

all three Mysql servers are v5

It would seem to me that my web site code is good.

whenever i change the server host name in the web.config file back to my hosting company's mqsql server i get this error.

This is the error:

Connectivity between SQL Serevr 2008 and SAP BW using Microsoft Connector 1.0

         I am trying to connect to SSIS 2008 to SAP BW using Microsoft Connector 1.0.

Following are stepes I performed.

1. Created RFC on SAP BW Server.

2. Created Prcess Chain in SAP BW.

3. Created SSIS Package using SAP BI Source. Here I set Execution Mode : P Trigger   Process Chain.

The process chain is executing fine on SAP BW Server, But it is unable to send back a notification to SSIS package.  And here my SSIS package failed.

I am getting following error message :

[SAP BI Source] Information: Process Start Process, variant Start Variant for MSBI has status Completed (instance D8Z84GJ2RLV7WCI2IYK5CZ1R3)

[SAP BI Source] Error: An internal exception occurred.
An error occurred during the dispatch of the incoming function. The last return code was "RFC_FAILURE".

Before this error I am getting following messages are :

[SAP BI Source] Information: Process Data Transfer Process, variant Z09_O101 -> Z09_H101 has status Active (instance DTPR_D8Z84GJ2RLVZKYTTUHZRFEG0V)

[SAP BI Source] Information: The component is waiting for a notification.

using odbc 3.51 connector , i need to call stored proceedure from visual studio

I have visual studio 2008 , and i have connected to mysql with odbc 3.51 driver. i am creating a login page, in which i pass the username and password from textbox to parameter and transfer it to the stored proceedure.The code in the login page is

protected void btnclick_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
            OdbcCommand cmd = new OdbcCommand();
            cmd = myconnection.con.CreateCommand();
            cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure;
            cmd.CommandText = "pro_Login";
            cmd.Parameters.Add("PrmUserName", OdbcType.VarChar, 50);
            cmd.Parameters.Add("PrmPassword", OdbcType.VarChar, 25);
            cmd.Parameters["PrmUserName"].Value = txtusername.Text;

Outlook Social Connector and Activity Feed error

I am testing out the Outlook Social Connector. The Facebook and LinkedIn providers work great, however when I try the MySite provider
I receive an XML validation error.

The connection appears to be successful however when I click on "Finish" in the dialog I get the error message. This is the standard
SharePoint activity Feed

Using Fiddler, I see:

The error is presented after the UserProfileService call. After clicking Ok, I see the final request.

<soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"

FAST Search Connector won't crawl my Content Sources

Can anyone help me figure out why I am not able to crawl the Content Sources for the FAST Search Connector?

The error from the ULS viewer is:

Failed to connect to 1sv-sp2010.wirestone.internal:13391 Failed to initialize session with document engine: Unable to resolve Contentdistributor

I followed the install steps found at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff381267.aspx, including the post install validation.  FAST seems to be working in every way except the crawl.

The port number 13391 was found in Install_Info document. "Content Distributors (for GUI SSA creation):          1sv-sp2010.wirestone.internal:13391"
