I am getting an error when sending email via asp.net. The error is "Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: 5.1.1...User unknown."
However, the email is getting sent. Why is asp.net returning this error?
I'm using VS 2008, vb.net, running 2.0 framework. This happens regardless of whether I'm testing my application from my local machine or running production version. Also, I can send a batch of emails and get the error for some but not all.
I would like to be able to count of the error messages really being accurate, so this situation is unhelpful to our users, because they will start to just ignore all error messages.
I am using a "Script Task" component. I am trying with following three simple steps:
1) Obtain the excel content in HTML
Dim reportInHtml As String = GenerateHTMLReport()
2) Generate an excel with below code:
Dim message As MailMessage
message = New MailMessage(fromAddress, toAddress, subject, String.Empty)
Using memoryStream As MemoryStream = New MemoryStream()
Dim contentAsBytes As Byte() = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(reportInHtml)
memoryStream.Write(contentAsBytes, 0, contentAsBytes.Length)
Dim contentType As ContentType = New ContentType()
contentType.MediaType = "application/ms-excel"
contentType.Name = "Excel_Report.xls"
I have a document library with Content Approval value set to “Yes”.
When contributor clicks a "submit for approval" button, I would like send an email out to approvers automatically. I can setup a workflow to do it. But would like to find if there is OOTB function
I can enable at document library level so it will send out email notification without any build customized workflow process.
My workflow has a Start Feedback Process action, which contains some pre-defined instructions. One of my instructions is to use a particular link to open the workflow history page – I have added this to force the user to open the form via the
workflow history page (we're using Forms Services) because the email’s default link opens the form in the InfoPath client, not the browser. It also allows the user to be returned to the page where they will complete their workflow task (we're trying
to make navigation as easy for them as possible).
Although I have defined my own set of instructions, the email notification I receive includes some standard text that links to the InfoPath form’s xml file. I don’t want users inadvertently clicking the “To complete this task…”
link at the bottom of the email and having the form open in InfoPath. Here is an example of the email I’m referring to:
I have a task - I need to email total number of products sold on the subject line of the mail task.
I have Execute SQL task process like select count(*) from tablename. Then I need to Mail the result set like "Total products sold September 2010 : 15000" on teh subject line.
I created a variable bit i dont know how to assign it on the subject line of the Send Mail Task.
I would really appreciate if you can guide me.
Thanks for your help.
I am in the modist of rolling of SharePoint2010 pilot phase to internal users in my organization, I would like to hear from the experts on the following.
While trying to cerate a re-usable workflow in SharePoint Designer 2010, I am using the default action of "To-Do Task" , the issue here is in the out-of-the-box it sates that I got to hard-code the users whom I want to send this email, but I would like users
to choose whom they would like to notify rather than hard-coding.
I am creating a document library in which there are few columns present (like Assigned To,Task Status,Reviewr etc.)
I want to send alert or email notification when the status value is changed. Alert should go to "Assigned To" selected value from the Reveiwers name.
I have tried this with "alert me" functionality provided by WSS 2007 but I think it will not sufficient for me?.
I am not able to proceed please help me?
I'm trying to figure out the empty field that should be populated in the email that a user receives when adding an alert. The missing field is the bit in single quotes that is blank. I have added a link to a screenshot below as well.
What is the source of this field? Any ideas why it is blank?
thanks in advance.
Alert 'xxx' has successfully been added on
You will receive alerts in e-mail. The timing and criteria for the alerts depend on the settings entered when the alert was added.
You can change this alert or any of your other alerts on the
My Alerts on this Site page.
We have taken backup and restore site in different box with all document and workflow (including workflow status) using STSADM.
Now the new backed up site is sending email notification for completed task from new box where task status is showing as completed.
Is it something that we also need to take backup of workflow runtime also? Not sure
I have a issue with workflow (out of box) email alerts. We get the email alert for a workflow intiator but not for an approver
Due date alerts are working fine, only the job immediate alerts are not coming,
When approver is trying to reassign the task to some person, even he dont receive any email for his new task.
pls suggest me on this issue.
all the settings are fine,
thanks for the help.
