DVWP filter values

Posted By:      Posted Date: August 26, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Hi,

I've created a DVWP that pulls data from three lists. I've enabled the filter/group/sort toolbar. Each of the lists has a Person field which I am able to display correctly in the table (using disable-output-escaping="yes"), however, the values in the Filter drop-down still have all the HTML code.  How can I get the values in the filter drop-down to display correctly?

Thanks!

How to filter Values in a ChoiceField, which is used in different ContentTypes?

Hi,

i have a Base Content Type which is called eaBaseContentType. In this ContentType i have a Field which is called Document-Type. Its an Choicefield with some List of Values.

My Problem is, that i derive from this Base Content Type 10 other ContentTypes and i have to filter the ChoiceField down. That means, that i have the following structure:

eaBaseContentType

      -->   eaSubContentType1 (Derived from eaBaseContentType)

      -->   eaSubContentType2 (Derived from eaBaseContentType)

      -->   eaSubContentType3 (Derived from eaBaseContentType)

      -->   eaSubContentType4 (Derived from eaBaseContentType)

      -->   eaSubContentType5 (Derived from eaBaseContentType)

The eaBaseContenttype has a ChoiceField. But i need only a Part of the values in the drived ContentTypes. How could i do this? I have tried to put a Column  (called Document-Type) only in the derived ContentTypes and not in the eaBaseContentType, but then i get an error that the Field in the Site Column Collection already exists.

How could i achieve this?

How to filter a List View by multiple values for one filter field?

Hi, I need to create a dynamically created link to a List View with a filter on one field, but with multiple values. Example: http://<server>/Lists/<list>/Allitems.aspx?FilterField1=Name&FilterValue1=John/Jack/Jonas which should give me all items where Name equals John, Jack or Jonas. Is this even possible?

Runtime filter values differ from values setup in designer. SQL server 2005

Hi,

I am confused as i have setup values for the filter criteria for company as 'JTWO' & 'STOC' in design mode of report builder however when i access the report from report manager the values that prompted  @ runtime are AARFT05F and ARRTUEID'.

any reason why report builder should change the filter criteria @ runtime.

DVWP filter customisation

Hi all,

Using: WSS 3.0, SharePoint Designer 2007

I have created a DVWP to display data from a custom list on a site and this is working great for the most part.  However, I have a query regarding the DVWP filtering:

I have turned on the toolbar to display the filter options and when I click the filter icon, I can see all of my columns listed - so far so good.  The issue I have is that I want to cut this down to only show 2 of the columns available (I currently have 10 columns).

Anyone know how to customise this?

Cheers.  Dave.

Filter document library based on multiple lookup values

Hello,

I have a very unique requirement for MOSS 2007.
Lets say there is a list of projects; A, B, C, etc.
Then there are phases of the project: Design, Develop, QA, etc.
When the documents are uploaded to a document library, a project and phase is selected at the time of check-in.
I want to create a project page to show project documents by showing documents for each phase in a different web part: eg. Design web part, Develop web part, etc. all bringing documents from the document library.
So far, all good. This can be created by using web parts, views and filters, etc.
Now, I want to create a custom list with Username, Project, Phase. like this:
User1, Project A, Design
User1, Project A, Develop
User1, Project A, QA
User1, Project B, QA

Now, if User1 goes to this project page for Project A - the user sees documents in all 3 phases.
if user1 goes to Project B - the user sees only QA documents.
I will be ok with just showing and hiding web parts completely.
or showing the web parts, but filtering out the documents. either is fine.

I have tried a combination of filters, CAML, etc. but getting values from a custom list to apply the filter is where I am stumped. I want the custom list as it will be easier for the end user to manage permissions for each user for each project for each phas

How to send filter values to a PivotTable filter when using SSAS cube as data source?

Hi,

I have created a custom filter web part that implements IWebPartParameters. I'm able to send values from this web part to and Excel Web Access web part and get it to set a pivottable filter based on this value.

Now, I want to do the same for an Excel Pivottable that's connected to an SSAS cube. However, I can't get the parameter value to set the filter. Is there some special format that I need to send the values in to be able to set a pivottable filter for a SSAS cube?

Thanks,
Chris

How to use DVWP to filter multiple columns in a document library

I am not new to SP, but newer to developing in SP, so I need some help please.

I am attempting to convert my company away from nested folders on SP. Elsewhere I saw a way to add multiple custom columns to a document library and then use a different web part (I thought the Form Web Part, but that only lets you filter on one column at a time) to filter the document library using those columns.

Ex: I have three columns:

* Market - with the checkbox choices being Employer, Public, Payer, and GovEduLab. A document could be a part of all, some or one of those markets.
* Product - with the checkbox choices being Care Solutions and Behavioral Solutions. A document could be a part of all, some or one of those markets.
* Process - again, checkbox choices being Account Planning, Commissions, Contracts, etc. And again, the doucment could be a part of all, some or one of those markets.

I want to create something that will allow the user to use some kind of "form" to filter find any document that is a Public-Care Solutions-Contract document and only show thsoe documents in the library.

This is what I have been trying to make it look like, but I am not tied to this:

Using jQuery to Filter Table Rows

The project is using the .net GridView control, so I had limited control over the output HTML code. Still, I think this code can work for most tables. One thing to notice: you should use the class "filterable" on your table or on one of its parents for the code to work.
First, we need a text box:

GridView Multiple Filter AJAX Control

This AJAX control enables the user to filter data within any column inside a GridView. The user can add multiple filters and can delete existing ones too.

How to Pass Values Between Web Pages ASP.NET

You can pass information between pages in various ways, some of which depend on how the redirection occurs. The following options are available even if the source page is in a different ASP.NET Web application from the target page, or if the source page is not an ASP.NET Web page:

Use a query string.

Get HTTP POST information from the source page.

The following options are available only when the source and target pages are in the same ASP.NET Web application.

Use session state.

Create public properties in the source page and access the property values in the target page.

Get control information in the target page from controls in the source page.

JQGrid Loading deleted values

Hi,

This is quite strange. here is the issue:

Some Info:

1. I'm using a multi-select jqgrid.

2. I have my own delete button to delete multiple orders

The problem:

When i press the delete button on the pager of my jqgrid, the records are deleted from the database but JqGrid shows some records (4-5). On refreshing the grid, correct numbers of records are shown.

Here is the code:

function delorder() {
        var amg = $("#horder").getGridParam('selarrrow');
        var cont = amg.length;
        if (amg.length > 0) {

Where to Filter the companies returned by the EF?

Hi,

I am just starting with dynamic data. I have an enttity framework called UsersModel.edmx.

It returns a list of all companies in the tblCompany table. This list is really big.

I need to filter the list returned to all user controls on the client so that it only returns the company that have a CompanyTypeId= 2 or CompanyTypeId= 3 and company name != "".

1 - Is it possible to filter the company list returned on the server so that I can filter only once for all the controls that use that on the client?

My ideas was to do something like this using linq and lambda but I am not sure how:

return tblCompanys.Where(c => c.CompanyTypeId == 2 || c.CompanyTypeId == 3 && ).Where(c=>c.CompanyName != "").OrderBy(c => c.CompanyName).Distinct().OrderBy(c=>c.CompanyName);

2 - I have created a partial class and a metadata class and added the DisplayColumn attribute to use the company name and sort by company name ascending.

Could I use the code to filter the returned companies in this? where?

namespace MarsMedicalModel
{
    [DisplayColumn("CompanyName", "CompanyName")]
    [MetadataType(typeof(tblCompanyMetadata))]
    public partial class t

How to cast integer values as an array of enum values?

Hello all!

I'm working with VS2010 Beta2, ASP.NET and Dynamic Data. I'm using VB but will certainly be happy to receive a C# example if necessary. Laughing

I used a few of Steve's examples (Writing Attributes and Extension Methods for Dynamic Data and Dynamic Data - Hiding Columns in selected PageTemplates) to create a custom property attribute to be applied to a dynamic data column and want it to accept an array of enum values (each value will represent a dynamic data page template where this column should not be displayed).  My new attribute works fine when I hardcode it like this, meaning the HideColumnIn attribute is properly populated with the array of enum values:

<HideColumnIn(PageTemplate.List, PageTemplate.Edit)> _
Public Property My_DD_Column As Object

However, I want to store the values to be used for the HideColumnIn in the DB as integer values that correspond to the
