Upload Multiple Documents to Asset Library fails for files >100 MB

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 22, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

The upload of large files > 100 MB fails with the "Upload Multiple Documents / Drag & Drop"-Feature, where it is no problem to upload the failed files as single file via Upload Document - "Browse..." with filesize up to 2GB.

Any workaround or configuration tricks known?

(Windows Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2008 R2, SharePoint Server 2010)

can you upload multiple documents (to a doc library) and set content type and meta data at same time

can you do this?  it doesn't seem like the dialogs support this functionality.  As an alternative i tried doing it in a grid type view after the fact but i couldn't get the grid view to show the content type, even worse, the grid view would let me add meta data to content types that didn't even have that column as long as it was in the view!!

Sharepoint 2007 Upload Multiple Documents error on Windows Vista

Hi all, I am having an issue uploading multiple documents from a share using the "Upload Multiple Documents" on the toolbar in a document library. The user experiencing this problem has a Windows Vista machine that recently replaced XP. They have mapped shares that they use. The shares work fine in windows explorer, but when you click the + next to the share through the "Upload Multiple Documents" function on sharepoint, the machine thinks for a while, then removes the + and shows no documents. Anyone know why this is happening?

Cannot upload multiple documents from DFS network drive with Windows 7

Hi,   We have a Moss2007 installation with SP2 and CU update October 2009. All our clients have a network drive to a DFS link. We use XP, Vista and Windows7 clients   Our DFS structure: DFS-Namespace\A LOT OF DFS-Links\   Problem: When a Windows 7 user want to upload multiple documents (Doc Library menu->Upload->Upload Multiple documents), he cannot expand the DFS network drive. This problems is only on Windows7 and not on XP or Vista.   I think that Windows 7 has another interpretation about the DFS links because when we try to upload multiple documents from a network drive that is linked directly to a DFS folder, you see all the folders and documents when expanded.     \\DFS-Namespace\DFS-Links   -> Not working \\DFS-Namespace\DFS-Link\folder   -> No problem     When you go directly to the network drive though Windows explorer, you see that Windows 7 show a folder with shortcut icon instead of a normal folder icon for a DFS LINK. Windows Vista show’s  an normal folder icon for a DFS Link. Maybe not relevant, it ‘s only a remark.     Someone any idée?   Regards,

C# Upload multiple files in sequence

I have  a project that requires me to upload multiple files to an FTP server. I have the code working perfectly as long as I upload one file and close the connection. The problem I am running into is when I try to upload more than one file. I keep getting different errors depending on how I configure the code. For example, I can upload the first file using a WebRequest... and then run the Stream and upload fine. However, when I go to the second file, I run into an error where it tells me that the Stream is not clsed. Not a problem, I can close the Stream but I run into a problem on the second file because I get a differnet error telling me that the Stream is open. We configured the code to open the connection upload the file, close the connection, open another connection upload the file and close it but that is causing problems. My goal is to open a session, open the Stream, upload the file, go to the next Stream and upload the file, and close stream and connection. Basically I want to upload the files just as if I was using a BAT file, which by the way works great, but I want to accomplish all of this with C# instead of calling a BAT file. I pasted the code below and I would really appreciate your help. I need to upload the files in order and not all at once. Thank you in advance FileInfo ToUpload = new FileInfo("D:\\FTP\\FTPScripts" + "\\&quo

Need a good solution on how to allow a user to upload multiple files

Im currently working on a project where i have a form that users fill out in order to submit issues.
My ask is to give the user the ability to upload multiple files together with the form submission and also go back each time they have an update and upload more if they need.
The way i have it right now is that i only have one FileUpload Control and once the Save button is clicked the file is save in the database together with the form info.

I already has a separate table for the files with reference to the ticket but im just not sure how can i allow the user to submit as many files as they want in an easy way.

Any ideas?
