I'm trying to install the trial version of SharePoint 2010. I went to this web site

and download it.

But when I run the setup, it asks me to enter the product code. I wonder how I can move forward.

2007 VHD - Workflow Setting throws "The trial period for this product has expired"

I recently downloaded the SharePoint 2007 VHD from this link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=67f93dcb-ada8-4db5-a47b-df17e14b2c74&displaylang=en The above link shows 5/3/2010 as Date Published.  So I am assuming that this is the new version of VHD published this year. I am able to login to this VHD and also view the default SharePoint site.  But, when I goto Workflow Setting of a List and click on NEXT button, it throws "The trial period for this product has expired" error.  This error is not written in ULS LOGS. I also noticed something strange in "WIN03_MOSS_README.htm", which is part of this download.  The Program Details section in this Readme says: The evaluation period for this virtual machine image ends @ 2/22/2011.  NO EFFORT SHOULD BE MADE TO ACTIVATE THIS IMAGE.  After 2/10/2010, the evaluation period is over and the image should be discarded.  So what exactly is the expiry date of this VHD?  Is it 22-Feb-2011 or 10-Feb-2010?  Can someone from Microsoft VHD team provide a valid response. Thanks & Regards, Kamlesh | Blog | Twitter | Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

Cannot Restore Backup from Sharepoint Server 2007 to Sharepoint Server 2010 Trial Version

After installing the trial version of Sharepointn 2010 I wanted to restore my Sharepoint 2007 sites to it but received the following error:  "The site collection could not be restored. If this problem persists, please make sure the content databases are available and have sufficient free space." I went on to create a new content database in sharepoint 2010 but it still did not work. The old database i.e the one used by the sharepoint 2007 server is SQL 2005. During the installation of the sharepoint 2010 version I selected SQl Server Express for the database. Is there any specifics for migrating from MOSS 2007 to sharepoint 2010? Thanks for helping

Setup Error: This product requires ASP.NET v2.0

Please help, trying to install WSS 3.0 on a x64 W2K3-server that is running WSS 2.0, but i get an error at the beginning of the setup:

"This product requires ASP.NET v2.0 to be set to 'Allow' in the list of IIS Web Server Extensions"

I have verified that it is set to allow, so that is not the issue.

KERNELBASE.dll, version: 6.1.7600.16385, time stamp: 0x4a5bdbdf Exception code: 0xe0434f4d Fault off

Hi all just am getting this error with KernelBase.dll, what's happening at my application end is that I am using .NET Framework to determine if network connectivity is available, raise an event from underlying dll to inform application when network connectivity is established, or network connectivity is unavailable. Nothing really special here just using standard stuff out of .Net framework here.  Have seen similar incidents with KERNELBASE.dll reported, but no one is really giving out any info on what exception 0xe0434f4d is a code for.  Knowing what the execption would be, would allow me to find a quick workaround to the problem. BizTalk seems to have similar issue with KERNELBASE.dll.

Additional info that may help is that I am running the .NET application on a Windows 7 machine with less than 100MB of storage space, well below the recommended minimum of 300mb, but am testing the .NET application through it's paces now. It should work if Windows 7 is working.

Below is the extract taken from the Windows application log:-

Reference to a non-shared member requires an object reference in code generated by ASP.NET

I am working on converting a project from C# to VB and am facing this weird issue. 1 page cannot compile and I get the reference error, but the weird thing is that the compiler shows the error as coming from ASP.NET generated code. Visual Studio shows me that error is coming from my ASPX page. I cannot seem to figure out why or where this error is occuring. Also if I take the inherits attribute out I don't get the compilation error. The code in aspx page is below:

<%@ Page Language="VB" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="diff.view.aspx.vb" Inherits="MR.ControlApp.diffview" MasterPageFile="~/Site1.Master"%>

<asp:Content ID="Header1" ContentPlaceHolderID="head" runat="server">

        <%j = j + 1

Check trial and registration version software and his activation

My question is

When the user opens the application for the first time after installing it they should be prompted to either enter a registration code or activate the     30-day trial.  The user should not be able to use the application before first activating a trial period or registering the software.

 - algorithim  is needed that generate key which match the installed software code.

Please let me know if any one have any soluation for this problem.

Find version of DLL from .NET code

Hi All,

How to find version of DLL from .NET code?

Windows Service crashing on call to unmanaged code, even though console app version works

I have a C# program that at some point calls 2 functions from an unmanaged dll using p/invoke.  Everything works fine when I'm running in a console app.  When I compile the same program as a windows service and run it, it crashes.  The console app and service should be identical as far as my code is concerned... all either program does is create an object from another assembly of mine and run a Start() method on it.

I have used VS2010 to debug the managed and unmanaged code, and when I step through the Console app everything looks great.  When I attach the debugger to the service, i can step through the first function in the unmanaged code, control returns to the managed code, and then later when it comes to the point where it calls the second unmanaged function, the process terminates immediately before the debugger steps into the first line of unmanaged code.  There are no exceptions that I can see, and the only thing written to the event log is the generic "service terminated unexpectedly" message.  Running "sc query" on the command line lets me know the win32_exit_code is 1067.

Im running everything in .net 4, on winxp 32bit.  The serivce is running as Local System ideally, but the same behavior exists when I run it under my user account.
