how do I create email reminders for multiple tasks with a secondary workflow?

Hi,

I need some advice regarding a issue I picked up during the creation of a secondary workflow to be used for email reminders. I created the workflows in sharepoint designer 2007.

Current situation;

I have a complex primary workflow that creates multiple tasks (about 9 tasks). Its important to note that these tasks get created in sequence. Therefore a task will only be created once the previous task has been completed (It's pretty much an approval workflow). Maybe I should also mention that I disabled the automatic task email notifications and replaced them with send email actions in my primary workflow (this should, however, not relate to my problem).

My Problem;


I created a secondary workflow to handle the email reminders. However, the email reminders only seem to work for the first task (task 1 ) created in the primary workflow. This is the steps I created;

1) First I checked that I'm going to send the reminders for the tasks created by the primary workflow, by verify the primary workflow name in a condition.

2) Once I verified the primary workflow I added the reminder time to the Created date of

I have put the "createTask" activity inside the "whileActivity" and specified the cycle conditions

But obviously i get an error when tryng to create two tasks with the same name, id and properties.

Cannot create email alerts for multiple users

  
Hello, I created an email alert for a document in a library. In the "Send Alerts To" box, I added multiple user names separated by semicolons and saved the alert. However, when I open the alert again, only my user name appears and the additional user names are gone. Why is this happening and how do I fix this problem?  Thank you in advance.

Workflow AND/OR Tasks - how can I create one that occurs/recurrs on a weekly basis.

  
Hi All, Any ideas how I could configure SharePoint 2010 to trigger a workflow for a site member that notifies them to perform  a specific task ? I have a timesheet template that I intend to create a content type from. the use case is that each site member needs to fill out a timesheet at the start of the week to indicate what work they will be doing for the week. Is it possible ( using customisation ) to create a workflow so that a site member is prompted to create a new timesheet at the start of everyweek ? Alternatively can a recurrent task be created instead ? i.e. on the monday of every week create a new task for each site member to "create new weekly timesheet" Thanks and regards, Counie  

SharePoint Designer Workflow to email multiple recipients listed in a custom list

  

Hi all,

I created a workflow in designer attached to a form library. I also have a custom list "Admins" containing names of persons that serves a different purpose but would also like to be used as recipients for the workflow email everytime a new item in the form library is created.

I have been searching the net and tried out few work arounds but so far able to send to only one person in the "Admins" list. The list has a column "Admin Name" which is of type "Person or Group".

Workflow or Time Job for email reminder on Tasks List in Share Point 2007

  

I need to send a reminder to the person whom a task has been assigned 3 days before a due date. We also wants to re-use this workflow/time job on other lists as well. Name of the lists can be different??

 

Also if the due date gets change it should change the reminder accordingly.

Which approach i should take to achieve this??

SharePoint 2010 Workflow - Creating multiple tasks

  
I'm working on a SharePoint 2010 workflow which will assign multiple tasks to a list of users.

I'm using the Multiple Tasks webcast from Scot Hillier as a guideline

I've created the custom activity to create a single task, and used a replicator to start the this custom activity for every user.
However, the sub-activities in my custom activity are not shown(as opposed to webcast).

I have a requirement where i need to build a visual studio for sharepoint workflow where i can send email from different address as we have on the code plex like this..

State Machine - Create AND wait for multiple tasks

  

After spending quite some time on this and researching every link I could find, I still am unable to make this work. I'd think this would be an every day case that many people encounter. Document approval with multiple reviewers.

But all the workflow examples I can find have one of two things in common. Either they are sequential and don't allow the workflow to revert to an earlier 'state/step' OR they are state machine but then only track one task at any point in time.

I need it to be a state machine since the workflow could go in circles between different groups of reviewers until they all agree. I need to be able in any given state, assign tasks to MULTIPLE users to review that document, and then also WAIT till ALL the users in that state have finished reviewing that document. Only then can it go to the next state and a different SET of reviewers. From there it might go back to the initial reviewers if they're not happy or it might move on to the next state.

I had tried using a replicator in the submit state to create multiple tasks for all the users (my replicator fired multiple times but only one task would get created). But then when I tried to create the second state to wait on all the tasks that were created, that was a whole other set of issues. I was also starting to go down the road of a statemachine triggering a bunch of sequentials but

Create multiple workflow instances from within the workflow

  

I am creating workflow service that uses a pick activity with multiple pick branches having multiple ReceiveActivity instances, the first pick branch supports workflow initialization by using RecieveAndSendReply activity, CanCreateInstance property is set to 'true', while others use the initialized workflow (they have Receive activity only and CanCreateInstance property is set to false). Content-based correlation is used. The workflow is working without any problem.

But It does not work when I call the service operation of the first pick branch from one of other branches.  I want to create a new instances of the same worklow by calling the initilization branch. What is best way to accomplish this?

Trying to send email using Sharepoint Designer 2007 workflow and email enabled list

  

I have a a list that recieves email. I have few fields that shows me the originator: "E-Mail From" and "E-Mail Sender".

I am trying to create a workflow that will generate an auto reply to the originator but the SPD fails to recognize the email address in these two fields. It's either truncating part of it or uses the html ( href=mailto:Demo@DemoSomething.com) in the To field.

How to create WSP or Package for workflow in Share Point 2007?

  

Hi,

I am working on SharePoint 2007. I have created 2 List called "Config List" (this is a list) and "Vacation Form" (this is form library & form designed in infopath). I have also created a workflow on form library "Vacation Form" in Share Point Designer 2007.

With the use of this workflow I am creating some task and updating "Vacation Form".

Now I want to deploy these three thing (Config List, Vacation Form & workflow) on other server.

How do I create a package or WSP file to install these things on different server.

I’ve got strange problem. I’ve created workflow with Visual studio 2008 which works fine. If workflow create task user gets email with alert and it works  - user gets email.   The problem is that I would like to use Workflow component: “SendEmail” for some cases. And if I enter directly into component email address for field: “TO” the message will be delivered. But if I use simple code with the same email address for field ”TO” it doesn’t work (field TO is empty now).

Using a workflow to create a user task

  
Hi, we have a inforpath form that our HR Team fill out when we have a new user join the company, the form once submitted will upload to a sharepoint forms library and also put and entry in a shared calendar that the HR , Facilities and Corp IT team have access to.

what i am trying to do though is get it to create a task in a task list on the same site using some of the fields on the form to populate fields in the task list. i have used Sharepopint desginer to create the workflow and when i test it the workflow status show completed but the task never shows in the task list on the site

any ideas would be greatfully recieved
