I have a large SharePoint database of 100,000+ documents administrated by a separate group. Part of my work involves gleaning information from individual documents in a quick and efficient manner. Although SharePoint has a search function built
into the site we have, it seems more geared towards finding individual files rather than the "raw" style of results that might come up from a Windows Explorer search.
All the documents have been indexed and the SharePoint search runs very quickly. Unfortunately, I need to be able to see ALL search results within a single window so that searches can be saved and cross-checked with other searches.
I need a way to produce very "raw" search results (columns with filename, location, size, date modified, etc) for any search I conduct
Is there a client program that can use a pre-existing SharePoint file index but output in different ways?
If there is not client program; is there a way of modifying the search output format to display all results in a more minimalistic fashion on a single page?
Thank you for any advice you can offer.
