Visual Web Developer 2010 Express "Copy Web Site" using different login

I created a site and am trying to grant another pesron access to upload changes to it without giving them my super-user login.

I made a login for her but I can't test whether it works or not because no matter how much I "disconnect" in the Copy Web Site page of VWD 2010, reconnecting to the same site always logs in as my superuser account without prompting me for a login again.

How do I test is the account it set up correctly before having her try to upload to it?    I want to force the login to remote site dialog to pop up again to test her account.

Any ideas?

Hi ! I'm using SSRS 2008 with WSS 3.0 (integrated mode) and I want, from a report in a site A, to link to a report in a site B. I'm using the full path to the report and when I paste it in a browser, it correctly shows the report. When I click on the link of the action in the report from site A, a report (having the same name) from site A is displayed instead... Any help would be appreciated Thanks Paul

Problem Saving Files to A Sharepoint 2010 Site from Office 2010: Saves locally by default rather tha

Hi we are starting to use sharepoint 2010 / word 2010 and have found an interesting bug/problem. Sometimes when a user tries to save a file (by clicking on the save button in the quick access toolbar for word 2010) the save dialog comes up with the users local "Documents" folder as the path (not the correct sharepoint path where the document should be saved).  (I should say that we are creating the file from sharepoint by using a toolbar on the document library, with the new button)  We are using a content type and a template attached to the document library when we create the file.  This is really annoying because the user might not notice that the document is saving locally and not to sharepoint.  I have found a strange workaround which involves clicking the [File] tab on the ribbon in word 2010, then clicking "Save and Send" and then clicking the save button again.  At this point word 2010 seems to "remember" that it is trying to save document to sharepoint and shows the sharepoint document library. This is a real nuisance which could lead to documents being lost/misfiled if people don't realize that this is happening.  Can anyone help me? Thanks Kevin krd

Problem with LayoutTemplate and the Login-control

Hi, I'm trying to make a login-form for my website, but i needed to customize the standard-layout, because the validators made the login-button move a couple of pixels to the right of the textfieldsWhen using the LayoutTemplate, I can't seem to get the login to work.. When adding a button with "Login" as the ID, shouldn't that button handle the loginprocess from the membership-providers validateuser-method?If not, and I'm supposed to handle the loginprocess myself? And if so, how do I get to the validateuser-method? I don't wanna have the method in two seperate places if I can avoid it..

Cookies used in login to SharePoint site

I am trying to logon to my remote site while using SharePoint Designer 2007 and my login fails each and every time.  I loaded Fiddler to see what is going on and can see that there is a cookie being passed which contains an invalid pwd.  I have deleted all the stored cookies in IE, but still see the invalid pwd being sent to the host.  If the cookies are not stored in the IE files, where might they be stored?

membership provider with custom login form problem / question

Hi all, I am using the .net membership provider, and I can get past the membership.validate user ok and into my secure page.   The problem I have is that when I reach the secured page, I have a login status control which isn't changing from login to logout.   Below is my login code:If Membership.ValidateUser(txtUsername.Text, txtPassword.Text) Then Response.Redirect("/auth/Default.aspx") If chkRememberMe.Checked Then FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie(txtUsername.Text, True) Else FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie(txtUsername.Text, False) End If Else lblLoginStatus.Text = "Oops! Login not found!" End If    Thanks in advance.

Forms Based Authentication - problem with custom master page and login page

I have successfully enabled and set up FBA (Forms Based Authentication) on my SharePoint 2010 Foundation server. The thing is that I need to customize the look and feel of the login page. I have successfully customized the page (and master page) to look the way I want, however, when I try to log in, I get the following error/message on the page:
"Forms Based Authentication on classic Web applications has been deprecated".

What I've done:
Made copies of /_layouts/simple.master and /_layouts/login.aspx and renamed the copies. The markup in the master page is MUCH simpler than the original, but I've kept all the ContentPlaceholders that I don't use (most of them) in a hidden <asp:Panel at the bottom of the page.

I've changed the web.config file:
<authentication mode="Forms">
      <forms loginUrl="/_layouts/loginCustom.aspx" />

So, I'm not getting any errors on the page until I try to log in. When I use the default settings (login.aspx and simple.master) it works just fine (but damn that page looks ugly!).

Does anyone know what I might be missing?

Update: I believe the reason it doesn't work is because my custom login aspx is not part of the Claims Based Web Application (because it's sitting

Sharepoint - Site Restore Problem

'm unable to restore our Sharepoint site from backup because of a 'is already an object with the Id ..... in the database from another content site collection' message that I continue to receive during the restore. I have already delete the site collection and created a new one from a blank site on numerous occasions but I continue to receive the same message. Please assist.

SSP problem: This page is accessible only from an SSP admin site

I am facing some problem in SharePoint 2007 SSP. Actually I have restored the SSP databases (SSP db and SSP search DB) on the development environment using SQL database restore option. After the restore, I have used Restore SSP option to create a new SSP and mapped the restored SSP DB and search DB. The SSP restore operation was succeessful but when I try to navigate to Search setting in the newly created SSP it is giving me the error that "This page is accessible only from an SSP admin site. " The same error messages is coming for some other links as well in same SSP.

Can somebody guide me how to solve this problem?

Small site embedded login validating against Active Directory and redrecting to SharePoint site

I am only finding pieces of this information.

Challenge: Have a standard page with a login box in the corner that is exposed on the web.  The login will validate an employee against AD and also redirect them to a site collection.

I have found information on claims based authentication and the AD Membership provider.  I have also found information on form based login pages.  Most of these examples though just modify the SharePoint form login.  I want to create just a small login box on a page that is already created.  The one thing that I can't seem to find any really solid information on is the redirect to a site collection.

Can anyone tie all of this together for me?  Am I using the correct terminology and heading down the right path.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
