SFTP client library needed

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 21, 2010    Points: 0   Category :.NET Framework

Hi all!

Does anybody know any open source or commercial SFTP library with source code (c#)? I've been trying SharpSsh and found it very unstable and and very poor and durty written. So, I'd rather get another library than fixed the SharpSsh bugs.

What the lib should do: returns folders contents, download files (rather big - may be about 1GB or more), deletes files. Nothing more. Yes, there are several libraries on the marker, all of them look so cool :) The problem is to make right choice.

Using SQL Server 2008 R2 client with Enterprise Library

All,

I am modifying an existing application that uses SQL Server 2008 as the database and Enterprise Library 4.1 for Data Access .

What I need to do is to make it use the SQL Server 2008 R2 client to take advantage of out of the box failover capabilities.

Any idea how I can accomplish this?

Thanks

Silverlight client object model : Read a document from a document library

How do I read/download a document/file from a SharePoint document library using silverlight client object model? The most closest function that I found was: Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.File.OpenBinaryDirect() but this seems to be throwing an exception "Operation not supported".

Help needed in versioning through code in document library?

Hi

I have a situation where i need to move the document form one library(LB1) to another library (LB2) thorugh event handler code. For documents which are not available in LB2 it is working fine but a case where document is already existing in LB2 i need to maintain the version instead , whereas my code is replacing the document already present.

Can anybody help me getting the versioning done through code?

Many Thanks

View previous version of a file in document library using Client Object Model

Hi,

Using Server-side object model, it is pretty simple to get the previous file versions. Say I wanted to view a file in its initial version, all I’d need to do is :

file.Versions[0].File

When using Client object model, I couldn’t any analogous method/property which would let me fetch the previous version of file.

Can somebody point me to a sample or the property which would serve my purpose?

Trying to open a sharepoint library in Windows Explorer via IE 8 results in the error "your client d

I am attempting to connect to a Microsoft Sharepoint library, via the "Actions -> Open in Windows Explorer" option from the Sharepoint page.  When I do so, I get the error message "your client does not support opening this list with windows explorer".  In short, I am trying to get the "drag and drop" functionality of a Sharepoint library.

I am running Windows 7 64-bit and IE8.  The target Sharepoint environment is a MOSS 2007 EE.  My Windows "WebClient" service is running, and I have no problem connecting to this exact library via a Windows XP computer running IE8.

Error while using Silverlight class library in .NET 4 Client Profile project

Failed to figure out where to post this problem.

I have two projects in solution: Silverlight 4 assembly and Console application targeted .NET 4 Client Profile. There's an interface in Silverlight assembly which has a return value typed IEnumerable<IPEndPoint>. In console application I'm trying to implement this interface. I have the following error compiling console application project: 'PeerToPeerNameResolver' does not implement interface member 'INameResolver.Resolve(string)'. 'PeerToPeerNameResolver.Resolve(string)' cannot implement 'INameResolver.Resolve(string)' because it does not have the matching return type of 'System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<System.Net.IPEndPoint>'

I've never defined my own class IPEndPoint, nor IEnumerable<T> interface. How can I get rid of this error? Method code is

		public IEnumerable<IPEndPoint> Resolve(string name)
{
var peername = new PeerName(name, PeerNameType.Unsecured);
return

Does Microsoft provide any SSH Library for SFTP Connection implementation in VC++ using Visual Studi

Hello,

I work on Visual Studio Extension Package created for Visual Studio 2003 & Visual Studio 2005, which is now migrated to Visual Studio 2008.

Our package adds capabilities to Visual Studio to create custom project using proprietary compilers. A project created under this product acts just like any other Visual Studio project.

With this package, users can develop applications on Windows, build them and then deploy the final object on destination servers using FTP session.

We need to enhance this product to implement SFTP connection feature for Secure File Transfer while moving the files to the server.

I would like to know whether Microsoft provides any SSH Library along with correspondings APIs to implement the SFTP Connection feature in VC++ with Visual Studio 2008.

Appreciate any help.

Please Note that, I had put this query on 'Visual Studio Extensibility' Forum, (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/Offtopic/thread/1fddc1ae-c69d-4cfa-ba04-948f2b1a392a), which was then moved to 'Off-Topic Posts' by MSFT, as the query seemed to have little relationship with VSX.

Kindly guide me on the correct forum for better help if this que

Programmatically submit Infopath Forms to the Sharepoint Library from client computer

Hello. I have a task to programmatically sumbit/update/delete infopath forms (from .NET console application) to Sharepoint server 2007. The application must work from client computers (without Sharepoint installed). Therefore I've decided to use Sharepoint web services (Lists.asmx), but after some time of investigation I've figured out that I can't work with Forms Library via Lists.asmx service. Please, advice me the most optimal solution. Some choices that I see:

- use some another web service to work with "Forms Library"

- use "List" (instead of "Forms Library") on Sharepoint (am I right, that I can submit/update/delete forms as file attachments? Am I right that this could be achieved with UpdateListItems/AddAttachment methods of Lists service?)

- implement a server and client applications to use Sharepoint Object Model on server side

Please, advice me the right solution. Thank you.

Use jQuery and ASP.NET AJAX to build a client side Repeater

By sending only data to the client, you can profoundly reduce the size of what you send and see a substantial increase in performance. You also allow yourself the ability to easily add features like light-weight sorting and paging on the client. This can not only improve your users' experience, but reduce server load and bandwidth requirements.

Practical Multithreading for Client Apps

Writing applications that use multiple threads is often considered an advanced programming task, prone to errors. In this month's column, I'll focus on a practical application of multithreading in Windows® Forms applications with some real benefits, while attempting to keep things simple. My goal is to present multithreading in an approachable way that addresses a very common need: writing applications with a user interface that remain responsive to the user.

Upload a File to a SharePoint Document Library - Part I

The following helper class demonstrates a few techniques that allow documents to be uploaded to a SharePoint document library programmatically without using the API or a custom web service. You don't need to specify a document library name, and it will create any folders specified in the URL as required. File meta data will be updated if any properties are passed.

A flexible charting library for .NET

ZedGraph is a class library, Windows Forms UserControl, and ASP web-accessible control for creating 2D line, bar, and pie graphs of arbitrary datasets. The classes provide a high degree of flexibility - almost every aspect of the graph can be user-modified. At the same time, usage of the classes is kept simple by providing default values for all of the graph attributes. The classes include code for choosing appropriate scale ranges and step sizes based on the range of data values being plotted. Moreover, ZedGraph is compatible with .NET 2.0, and VS .NET 2005.
