Support Multiple Site Bindings: multipleSiteBindingsEnabled

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 21, 2010    Points: 0   Category :WCF
According to post "Hosting Enhancements in .NET4 and Windows Server AppFabric" (http://blogs.msdn.com/endpoint/archive/2009/12/08/hosting-enhancements-in-net4-and-windows-server-appfabric.aspx) WCF 4.0 supports multiple site bindings.
But when I added <serviceHostingEnvironment multipleSiteBindingsEnabled="true"> I got the following error: "Parser Error Message: Unrecognized attribute 'multipleSiteBindingsEnabled'. Note that attribute names are case-sensitive."
Enviroment: .Net Framework 4.0 Beta 2

Multiple database support with Entity Framework

One of the features introduced in Entity Framework is being database independent. Which mean each database provider can support Entity Framework by implementing its provider.

This feature allows you build applications independent from the underplaying database provider. In this post I'm going to show how to build an application that support multiple databases using same conceptual model made by Entity Framework.

Go Global: Designing Your ASP-based Web Site to Support Globalization

If you have a Web site for your business, you already have an international presence. But how can you make sure users in any country can access your site effectively? The Trigeminal Software site at http://www.trigeminal.com has pages localized into up to 48 languages and allows users to see pages in the language of their choice. This article describes how the site was implemented and how issues such as whether the site should use frames and what character set to choose for multibyte languages were dealt with. Which database to use for storing dynamic content, whether to use static or dynamic pages, and how to implement localized solutions on both Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 is also discussed.

Exposing WCF Service for multiple clients with the feature of multiple database support

i have ceated a WCF service and hosted it properly. now i want to Exposing this Service for multiple clients with the feature of multiple database support. In this functionality how could i do the proper multiple database management. what i am doing now:1. i am taking database string from the client.2. Then setting the refference of above provided database to the all functions call.ISSUE: if the mulitple clients calling the service at the same time and both are giving different database string then the database string provided by the clients is overlapping.....

Incorrect hostname in EndPoint location in WSDL for a service with multiple bindings and with multip

We have a WCF web service that is exposed through multiple bindings.  The site is  accessed through multiple IP Addresses/Hostnames (internet/intranet).  Some of the bindings use http transport while others use https transport. The web application is configured to use .NET 4.0 with multipleSiteBindingsEnabled="true" so that we shouldn't have problems with multiple ip addresses/hostnames. What we see is that when the WSDL is accessed using a http based URL (external), the hostnames in the endpoint addresses for http transport based bindings in WSDL are correct (ie, they use the hostname header from the request) while the hostnames in the endpoint addresses for https transport based bindings in the WSDL are incorrect (ie, they do not use the hostname header in the request - they seem to use the hostname from the first available binding in IIS for that scheme and end up with the local machine names/ip addresses in the URL).   We could work around by setting the external hostname/ip in the first binding in IIS for the respective scheme, but then WSDLs accessed from intranet clients would have wrong URLS now. This happens the other way around as well, ie, when the WSDL is accessed using https, the https based addresses are fine, but http addresses in the WSDL are not correct. It looks like hostname header is used only for WSDL endpoint addre

Multiple net.tcp endpoints with different portnumbers on the same web site

I have multiple services that have to run under one website. Two of the services have a net.tcp endpoint. The addresses are formatted as follows: net.tcp://backend.ourcompany.com:9080/Product1/2010/09/Service1/Service1.svc net.tcp://backend.ourcompany.com:9081/Product1/2010/09/Service2/Service2.svc net.tcp://backend.ourcompany.com:9090/Product2/2010/09/Service2/Service2.svc Both services have their own Web.config. Currently both services have a different base address in their Web.config and a relative endpoint address. Everything worked ok with just the fist service installed, after installing the second I keep getting this error: 'This collection already contains an address with scheme net.tcp.  There can be at most one address per scheme in this collection. If your service is being hosted in IIS you can fix the problem by setting 'system.serviceModel/serviceHostingEnvironment/multipleSiteBindingsEnabled' to true or specifying 'system.serviceModel/serviceHostingEnvironment/baseAddressPrefixFilters'.' Since the multipleSiteBindingsEnabled is only for http (why?) I tried getting it to work with the baseAddressPrefixFilters but I don't really understand how that would help me in my case. Is it possible what I'm trying to do here? Otherwise this would be a big fail of IIS, in a self-hosted environment I'm doing the same thing for years. I now want to migrate my ex

CAML query to access List data across multiple site collection.

Hi   Is there any way to get the Task List data across multiple site collection using CAML query. Currently, I have the code which will retrieve the data from a single site collection. Using a List View web part to display documents from multiple document libraries from different site

Hi there, I am trying to have one web part display documents (or list items) from different document libraries (or different lists) from different site collections. I have achieved this under a single site collection using Data View Web Part (using SPD). I have also achieved displaying a single document library (or a list) from a different site collection by using List View Web Part. but I am not sure how to get my head around displaying documents or list items from different document libraries or lists across site collections. I have thought of using SPSiteDataQuery or ListViewByQuery, but they all seem to focus one site collection at a time. If any of you have done this before, please share your best practice on this one with me. Much appreciated. Clark

thanks for any help or information.

Search across multiple site collections

I am working on a MOSS 2007 farm and like to know what would be a best way to setup Search so that I can search across multiple Site Collections? Basically, our SharePoint farm use to have only one site collection with lots of subsites. We reorganized and  promoted a lot of those subsites to site collections. After the promotion, I noticed that on each of the new site collection under the search dropdown, the only search scope that was available was “This Site”. I was able to fix this by changing search settings and creating a custom scope by providing the link to the Search Center site that had already existed in the root site collection. However, when I try to search from any site collection using the "All Sites" search scope, no results are displayed and I get a blank page. Any idea what I might be doing wrong? Thanks in advance for your help.

Multiple Approval Not Working using Site Content and Structure

Hi all

I have two dummy users. I have given one user contribute permissions and the other as approve permissions. I have enabled content approval on my document libraries, pages library etc. I have created a few pages, documents etc  using the dummy user having contribute permissions. Now using Site Content and Structure's pending approval section i am unable to approve these docs using the second dummy user having Approve permissons.

When logged in as dummy user 2 (having approve permissons) I am able to see all the documents requiring my approval in the pending approval section of Site Content and Structure. But when i check all the check boxes and click on approve its not getting approved. The page refreshes but the items still remain in the pending approval section without any change.

Please Help...

Multiple Sharepoint site design

Hello All,

My company uses standard license MOSS2007 in our corporate network. There is another network “production” that corporate users do not have access to.

I would like to create an additional site in production network using my existing standard license. The purpose if this is to limit corporate users access or even to see the site.

Is that possible? I don’t have a deep knowledge of a SharePoint so forgive my lingo and please provide details when responding.

Allow Multiple Bindings for One Service Contract

OK. For the purpose of this post, I only have one service contract. The user needs to be able to authenticate using either a) Active Directory (basicHttpBinding), or b) Username/Password (customBinding). Configuring this seems to be pretty straight forward. I just created two services with the same contract. Here is my server side config in its entirety:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<!-- Services.Service.endpoint.endpoint.dns should be something other than "localhost"-->
<!-- behaviors.serviceBehaviors.serviceCredentials.serviceCertificate.findValue should match-->
<!-- Notes on setting up these services: http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3557200&SiteID=1-->

Is a Site that contains multiple Lists where the list should be able to create an InfoPath Form(form

I guess what I'm asking is, is this possible?

I have a System that I'm trying to implement in SharePoint. It basically is a Site that contains multiple Lists. The list should be able to create an InfoPath Form(form1). Then I need to create multiple InfoPath forms(form2) that is basically a sub-form of form1. Form2 will have its own List containing only form2's that relate to form1. Then create sub-form(form3) to form2.

Using a combination of InfoPath and SharePoint is this possible?

ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript Snippet Support (VS 2010 and .NET 4.0 Series)

This post covers another useful improvement in VS 2010 - HTML/ASP.NET/JavaScript snippet support. Snippets allow you to be more productive within source view by allowing you to create chunks of code and markup that you can quickly apply and use in your application with a minimum of character typing.

Visual Studio has supported the concept of "snippets" for VB and C# in previous releases - but not for HTML, ASP.NET markup and JavaScript. With VS 2010 we now support snippets for these content types as well.
