SSIS User Defined Data Type (Alias Data Types) and OLE DB Command validation

Hello everyone, I've been having an issue with trying to run my SSIS package on a server, and it seems to be failing on the OLE DB Command step.  What we have in our SQL 2005 DB, is a User-Defined Data Type (base type char(7)) and the OLE DB Command is supposed to call a proc that passes in a value of this data type. ie:  CREATE PROCEDURE myProcedure ( @passedInFromSSIS MY_DATATYPE ) AS .... In my SSIS package, I have the type defined as DT_STR with a length of 7.  Now, when I run the package locally (via Visual Studio), the process runs with success.  However, once the package is deployed on a server and run from an application (note: it is run under a different user), the process fails on a validation step with a "Invalid Parameter Number" error. Now, if I change the input parameter in my proc to the base type of the user-defined data type, the process works again. Has anybody run into a similar issue or know what may be causing this issue?  I first suspected perhaps I needed to grant permissions on the user-defined data type (since I was able to run it under my security context, but not under the application's), however noticed that there isn't security tied to the types.  Any other thoughts?  Please let me know if you need further explanation.  Thanks!

2008 R2 Upgrade Advisor from command prompt fails

I've run the 2008 R2 Upgrade Advisor (from the GUI) successfully, finding several upgrade issues in a run which takes around 20 minutes. When I run the command prompt version of the tool, using the config file created by the GUI run, it returns immediately with no error message and having created no report. Here's the command:

C:\>"C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Upgrade Advisor\UpgradeAdvisorWizardCmd.exe" -ConfigFile "C:\Documents and Settings\MyLogin\My Documents\SQLServer 2008 R2 Upgrade Advisor Reports\MyServer\Config.xml"

Why is the command doing nothing? I need this to automate my pre-upgrade analysis work.

How do I install and run MSDE2000A (mssql$netsdk) on the command prompt of Windows 7?

Hello. I'm trying to install MSDE2000A on a Windows 7 machine, and the database book I'm using described doing so through the command line. First I installed it to C:\< folder >. Everything went fine (except for a Windows 7 compatibility issue notice), until I started to actually run it. I was in the directory in the command line, and I typed net start mssql$netsdk. As a result I get the response

"System error 5 has occurred.

Acess is denied."

After trying to look up a solution, I found that Windows 7 had an issue with developer stuff being put outside of users' directories, so then I installed it again, this time in C:\Users\< username >\< folder >. The same problem occurred.

Where do I go from here?

TreeSelector : playing with generics and type inference

create a generic way to define a selection starting from a tree of objects, the most simpler way as possible.

Let's start with the beginning...
Here is a very simple little interface defining a node of the tree, basically, a value and the references to the child nodes.
