Hope I might be able to find some help on this one...

I developed a simple web part which posts HTML form contents to a SharePoint list - on first deploy, it worked fine, using the Web Part project base from VSeWSS 1.1, but after deployment, I noticed I fat fingered a url for redirection, and went back in to change it. Now, on deployment I get the following error:

ContactUsForm -> C:\Visual Studio 2005 Projects\ContactUsForm\ContactUsForm\bin\Release\ContactUsForm.dll

Creating SSIS Package Variables Programmatically

Hi There, I am fairly new to SSIS.  I am creating a number of custom SSIS Tasks that I want to be able to share information between at runtime.  I figured that the best way to do this was through package variables, as in the Execute() method each custom task has access to the package variables through the VariableDispenser object.  I have managed to read variables at runtime that I create in the designer, however I am having trouble creating and writing to them.  I have created a very simple custom task below that I would expect to create the specified variable... [DtsTask(DisplayName = "TestVariableWriter")] public class Variab : Task { public override DTSExecResult Execute(Connections connections, VariableDispenser variableDispenser, IDTSComponentEvents componentEvents, IDTSLogging log, object transaction) { try { string varName = "TestVariable"; string varValue = "TestValue"; Variables vars = null; variableDispenser.LockForWrite(varName); variableDispenser.GetVariables(ref vars); if (variableDispenser.Contains(varName)) vars[varName].Value = varValue; else vars.Add(varName, false, string.Empty, varValue); vars.Unlock(); return DTSExecResult.Success; } catch (Exception ex) {

How to migrate sharepoint site in 2007 with custom solution package and its content to sharepoint 20

Hi Experts, Recently, my organization is planning for SharePoint 2010 upgrade. We decide to go with Database content migration as it is less impact with down time due to hardware and software requirement (64 bit) in SharePoint 2010. We have a sub-site which contains a lot of customization such as master page, custom list, web parts and a lot of content. There is also a solution was built for that sub-site as well. However, as the time past by there quite a few update and manual creating from power users which concern to me that the solution package that we have does not up to date that can be use for SharePoint 2010 upgrade. I am planning to re-package the solution for the upgrade with all the changes users made for SharePoint 2010. But the question is how do I migrate the content of existing site when we upgrade to 2010? It is also possible that they want to change the sturction of the site when migrate eg: make this new upgrade site as top site collection instead of sub-site. Another concern is what happen after I finish making re-package the solution but during the re-package period users might make more change to the existing site? I would greatly appreciate for any ideas, suggestions as well as best methodology I should take.   Thanks praneth

Error occurred in deployment step 'Retract Solution': The language-neutral solution package was no

I've got the same error as those who opened this thread, but I'm looking for the cause of this error rather than deleting the solution file from SP2010 Server over and over again.

I was developing and deploying with VS2010 and SP2010 Enterprise Edition just fine for over three month now and out of nothing this error pops up again and again for the same solution. I can't tell what I've changed or which software I might have installed in the meantime, so I can't give any hints what causes the errormessage. Which might be interesting: I installed my SP2010 Enterprise Edition in english and installed the german language pack afterwards. Kind regards, Andreas

Error creating package - Failed to save package file

I have Windows Server 2008 R2. I had just installed SQL 2008 SP1 Dev Ed. on my box and got an error message when I tried to create a package using the BI IDE. But the project was created regardless without any packages. When I tried to create a new package in the project, I received the same error again.

Following is the text of the error details:

Content Editor text format functionality lost after deploying branding solution package

I've got two identical SharePoint 2010 servers.  One is a dev box and one is production.  We've got a branding solution package.  After deploying the package on the production server, when I go into edit a page, the text format functionality in the content editor works fine, i.e. I can change font, font size, font color, etc.  However, when I deploy the solution package on the dev server and then attempt to edit a page, the text format functionality is disabled/broken.  I can utilize bold, underline, or italicize but cannot change font, font color, font size, etc.

I've copied a site collection from my production site (which works perfectly) over to the dev site with the same results, meaning once on the dev box, the copied site collection no longer has editing functionalilty in the content editor. Permissions are set the same on both boxes and as mentioned, editing works fine until deployment of the solution package on the dev box.   Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could Visual Studio installed on my Dev box cause this?

Creating Deployment Package for RDL & Data Driven Subcription Setting

I've created a ASP.Net web application which have reports. The reports using SSRS, rdl files and using report viewer control to show the report from our webpage.

I must deliver the application using Installer (Deployment Package), it is easy for ASP.NET to create deployment package.
But how about the Report Server Project (RDL), how I create the deployment package for that? and if I've data driven subscription setting for some reports, how can I include those too in my deployment package.

I don't want to deploy it manually one by one to Production Server.

Any advice?

'Package.xsd' Error when creating a Slipstreamed, Prepared Instance of SQL Server 2008 R2

I am trying to create a Prepared Instance of SQL Server 2008 R2 using an install that is Slipstreamed to include SP1. I followed Option 1 as described here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd638062.aspx and then was creating the Stand-Alone Prepared Instance as described here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee210664.aspx. The System Configuration Checker passed with no errors, and then I hit this error:

SQL Server Setup has encountered the following error:

The element 'Package' in namespace 'http://www.microsoft.com/sql/slp/Package.xsd' has invalid child element 'Rules' in namespace 'http://www.microsoft.com/sql/slp/Package.xsd'. List of possible elements expected: 'Properties, Datastore, Extensions, MsiPatches, RuleGroups, Sequences' in namespace 'http://www.microsoft.com/sql/slp/Package.xsd' as well as any element in namespace '##other'.

Error code 0x84B10001.

Any ideas as to the problem and solution?

Creating a SSIS package to get data from free DBF (Visual FoxPro table) in 64 bit SQL Server

Hi everybody,

I originally posted in the wrong forum MSDN Thread

I'm trying to create (for test purposes) a package to load data from VFP table into SQL Server 64 bit. So far I can not figure out how to do it - I created DSN as outlined in Todd's blog, but I don't know what to do next.

Can someone please give me step by step instructions so I will know if it's possible or not? I was under impression it's not possible, but Todd's blog seems to suggest otherwise.

Thanks in advance.
