SSRS Report Sorting issue in Dashboard created usign Performance point services in sharepoint 2010

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 21, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

I have created a report in SSRS and this report is integrated within a dashboard created using performance point services in sharepoint 2010.

The report is a simple tabular report with 5 coulmns and interactive sorting is enabled on each of them.

Sorting works when the report is viewed separately but gives "Report Server Error" when I try to sort (on any column) inside the dashboard.

I have user IP instead of host name in the report server url.

Please help.

SharePoint 2010 - Performance Point & Dashboard Designer

We have successfully installed SharePoint 2010 onto our dev machine; we have also followed the documented steps for configuring Performance Point; http://blogs.msdn.com/b/performancepoint/archive/2009/11/24/deploying-performancepoint-2010-soup-to-nuts.aspx.  All seems fine however we do not seem to be able to create a connection from Dashboard designer back into SharePoint.  When we check the logs we get the following error Critical   An unexpected error occurred.  Error 5678.  Exception details: Microsoft.SharePoint.Upgrade.SPUpgradeCompatibilityException: There is a compatibility range mismatch between the Web server and database "WSS_Content_PerformancePoint_1", and connections to the data have been blocked to due to this incompatibility. This can happen when a content database has not been upgraded to be within the compatibility range of the Web server, or if the database has been upgraded to a higher level than the web server. The Web server and the database must be upgraded to the same version and build level to return to compatibility range. We have a farm config on a single 64 bit box and SQL Server 2008 loaded.  We have un-installed and re-installed the site collection. Does anyone have any ideas? Eddie Barrett

I want to create an SSRS report that displays all the steps in an executing workflow along with its current stage.

Not able to use SSRS report with a parameter within Performance Point 2010

I have created a report in SSRS 2008 and have passed a parameter called Carrier to it. The report works fine on http://machinename/reports and am able to pass parameters to the report including the All Carriers parameter.

However I cannot get the report to run in PPS 2010. In PPS I have created a multi value filter called as Carrier and have passed this filter to this report. But when I execute this report I get the following error :

SharePoint 2010 Reporting Services report on sharepoint list rsExecutionNotFound

I cannot get SQL Reporting Services 2008 R2 to work with a datasource that is a sharepoint list.  Reporting services seems to work fine setup in SharePoint 2010 Integrated mode. When I try and run a report that is based on a sharepoint list, I immediatly get the following error: The report execution tp15sp4515l3seqqo4do3e45 has expired or cannot be found. (rsExecutionNotFound) This seems to be something I am doing wrong with the sharepoint configuration, I would guess.  I haven't tried a regular database query, but they used to work when reporting services was configured for native mode.  So I assume this is just a problem connecting to sharepoint 2010 lists, with the new SharePoint 2010 List connection type. Edit This has got to have something to do with a permission setting for the app pool account of sharepoint.  I read something once where it said you had to grant it permissions, but every guide I've found since then doesn't mention anything about it. This log entry is where the problem seems to be occuring, I just don't know what permissions to give TESTDOMAIN\spweb which is the app pool account. library!ReportServer_0-3!1bdc!09/01/2010-09:58:03:: e ERROR: Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ReportServerStorageException: , An error occurred within the report server database.  This may be due to a connection failure, tim

SSRS 2008 R2 and Sharepoint 2010 - performance problems

Hi all,

I'm currently in a DWH project using SSRS 2008 R2 x64 in Sharepoint Integrated mode along with Sharepoint 2010, and we're seeing massive performance problems even though traffic on the server is at a bare minimum. We're in development with a maximum of a few users online at any given time and the server itself isn't doing a whole lot...cpu is usually < 20%. We have timed the database queries and 90% of them are taking less than a second to execute while reports takes anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds to load (some heavier reports can occasionally take a lot longer). I am simply unable to get anything to load in less than 5 seconds, even the simples grid from a SELECT TOP 5 * FROM table query takes this long.

The server setup is suboptimal as SQL Server, Reporting Services and Sharepoint are all running on the same virtual machine but with the minimal amount of traffic we have this shouldn't really be a problem. The server is a Win 2008 x64 Datacenter with 4 CPU's and 16GB RAM.

A standard sharepoint page that gets data from the database is returned in milliseconds...why doesn't reporting services do the same? What can I do to increase performance?

Sharepoint 2010 and SSRS 2008 R2 deployment issue and Globals!ReportName issue

1. Does Sharepoint 2010 in integrated mode Support =Globals!ReportName

Or is there any equivalent of the above expression to work in sharepoint

2. I tried to Deploy Reports from BIDS 2008 to Sharepoint 2010. No matter what settings i choose for OverWriteDatsources, it always redeploys the Datasources.

Sharepoint 2010 w/ Webapps, Excel Services Webpart display issue.

I have Sharepoint 2010 installed with WebApps 2010, and can use it to edit documents in IE without any problems at all.  Word and Excel work just fine.

But on MOSS 2007, I could have it display the Excel page as a webpart, that you can click on, and open it anyways.   But no matter what I try in 2010, all I get is the Webpart heading has a link to the file that works, but the contents always reads:

To display a workbook in this Web Part, you must first select the workbook.

To select a workbook, open the tool pane, and then edit the Workbook property.
Click here to open the tool pane.

How can I fix the preview in the webpart?

Sharepoint 2010 Web analytics and performance point

SSRS Reporting Services issue with Rendering Report.

I have created a report that has a tablix with a single cell.  The tablix is set to a dataset that has multiple records, and for each record I am running another subreport inside the tablix cell.  I have the subreport creating a page break for each record, and when printed out the report is perfect, but in the interactive rendering mode with the SSRS Web Viewer, one of my pages comes out blank except for the header being present.

It is not adding an extra page, because in the print out that particular page is rendered with the correct data, but in the interactive mode it is completly missing.

I would appriciate any advice someone might have.

Thanks in advance.

SSRS 2005 setup compare - report performance issue

I have a SQL stored procedure that is a data source for the SSRS 2005 report. I use two servers with identical hardware, let’s call them Server1 and Server2. When I run SP directly on the Server1(SQL 2005) and Server2(SQL 2005) within SQL Server Management Studio, SP runs for 10-11 seconds on each server. When I run my SSRS report that is using the procedure within BIDS or SharePoint sites (each server has its own SharePoint site with supposedly identical setup), it runs for 20 seconds on Server1 SharePoint site and for about a minute on Server2 SharePoint site as wel as witin BIDS. There is no network traffic.

When I traced performance on both servers with SQL profiler while running report within BIDS or SharePoint, I didn’t notice anything unusual; it just takes more time to process statements on Server2. I also tested several other reports and they all perform the same on both servers with maybe only a few seconds difference (Server1 is a bit faster). I suspect that SSRS for Server2 has a different setup as the performance declines only
