WSS 3.0 Content & Structure Reports aren't working

I'm having trouble with one specific site and the content and structure reports.  In all my wss 3.0 sites, I go to Site Actions>View Reports and choose a specific CAML query.  In one site, I choose a default report such as "Checked out to Me" and I am taken to just the View: Default View. I'll change the drop down again to a different report again such as "Checked out to Me" and it refreshed the view again back to Default View.

What's going on? Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hello, I have 4 production sites that I work on.  1 of these sites uses content deployment to the other 3 sites to keep the top page and navigation in sync between the 4 sites. We a sort of different from the norm, where content deployment is used for test -> production. At the global site I have created a content and structure report that shows only a users incomplete tasks.  I wrote the caml on a different system and got it running on a dev system, then copied the query to production.  Thing is that the query works everywhere except the one global site that content deploys to all other sites.  If the query were broken then it wouldn't work at the other sites, but it does so I don't think it is the caml query.  Just in case I have included it below. <Where><Or><And><Eq><FieldRef Name="AssignedTo" LookupId="TRUE"/><Value Type="int"><UserID /></Value></Eq><Neq><FieldRef Name="Status"></FieldRef><Value Type="Text">Completed</Value></Neq></And><And><Membership Type="CurrentUserGroups"><FieldRef Name="AssignedTo"/></Membership><Neq><FieldRef Name="Status"></FieldRef><Value Type="Text">Completed</Value></Neq>

Multiple Approval Not Working using Site Content and Structure

  

Hi all

I have two dummy users. I have given one user contribute permissions and the other as approve permissions. I have enabled content approval on my document libraries, pages library etc. I have created a few pages,documents etc  using the dummy user having contribute permissions. Now using Site Content and Structure's pending approval section i am unable to approve these docs using the second dummy user having Approve permissons.

When logged in as dummy user 2 (having approve permissons) I am able to see all the documents requiring my approval in the pending approval section of Site Content and Structure. But when i check all the check boxes and click on approve its not getting approved. The page refreshes but the items still remain in the pending approval section without any change.

Approve Multiple Through Manage Content and Structure Not Working

  

I am trying to approve multiple list items by doing the following:

  1. Manage Content and Structure.
  2. Changing the view of the list to "Pending Approvals".
  3. Selecting all items.
  4. Choosing "Approve" from the "Actions" menu.

Doing this does not result in any approvals; all items remain in the "pending" state.  Some things to note:

  • There are no workflows for this list.
  • I can approve each item one at a time and the status updates to "approved".
  • I am logged in as a site collection administrator.
  • I have tried logging in as the system account to no avail.
  • I have tried choosing "Publish" from the Actions menu to no avail.
  • There are no errors in the event viewer.

Can someone please help with this issue?  I am planning on having lists with hundreds of items and the bulk approve functionality is definitely a requirement.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

Content and Structure Report not showing all items

  
I have an environment where the Site Owner is not seeing all items pending approval when they access that view from the root node in the Content And Structure section.

We can see pending items in this view if they access some of the lower level nodes in the tree structure, just not from the top node.

I've noticed that the second level nodes are not inheriting permissions from the root node, but I'm not sure if that is relevant. I've also checked the CAML for the Pending Approval view and it has not been altered in any way.

Any ideas?

Administrative Reports not working

  
Any of the reports that are listed in the Administrative Report Library (CrawlRatePerType, Querylatency, etc.) all generate the same response that is: The chart cannot be rendered. This may be due to a misconfiguration of the Microsoft SharePoint Server State Service. For more information, contact your server administrator. About middle of that statement, there is a column that has data in it, but no graphs by any means. I have verified that the State Service was selected during the configuration wizard and that I have a search center setup. Any idea's as to what would be causing that, or what could be done to fix it? Thanks Gary Adkins

Why is the Content by Query Web Part CommonViewFields attribute not working as expected?

  
I am using the Content by Query Web Part to show data from a Custom List.  I have already added to the XSL "ItemStyle" sheet so that I can pick the correct Item Style.  That has worked fine - I have been able to show whatever fields I would like and apply any CSS Styles I would like to them.  The issue I am having is in formatting the field correctly.  I have two different fields in my current example that need to be formatted: [1] I want to show an Image, but right now it shows the URL  [2] I want to show Rich Text, but right now it shows all the HTML Code as Plain Text.  I have looked at many articles online, and they all tell me to change the following in the WEBPART file from: <property name="CommonViewFields" type="string" /> to: <property name="CommonViewFields" type="string">Thumbnail, Image;Teaser, RichHTML;</property> What I am doing wrong?  The Web Part still runs, but it does not format the fields any differently.  Thanks for the help!

Hi, I can't get my content rating to work.  I can give something a rating, and when I go back, there is nothing there.  I know about the timer service, and have wated (over a week) and also ran the timer service using the stsadm command and nothing seems to work.nonam

MS Filter pack for Zip files content search not working

  
I am facing a problem related to Zip files content search. Searching of content inside zip files doesn't return in search results. But searching for zip file name returns filename in search results. Folder inside the List shows Access Denied when try to open using Manage Content Structure

  
Hi All, We are facing this issue in one of our site, when accessing the folder from Manage content structure. Folder is inside a list which uses a folder content type. When we try to open this folder use manage content and structure it throws access denied. any idea how we can check this as we the permissions are properly inherited and all the folders are checked in . Sub Page_Load - not working in the content page.

  
Hi there,I am using a content page (tellafriendaction.aspx) which uses a master page (PublicMaster.Master)The masterpage Page_Load event (in the code behind page) is working and is called when tellafriendaction.aspx page is called.But the Page_Load event in the content page (tellafriendaction.aspx) is not working or is not called when i call the content page while i am debugging the application.(Note: I have an html form in TellAFriend.aspx content page. External content types are not working in SharePoint 2010 Web Front End in DMZ

  

I have discovered that my Web Front End server will try to connect directly to the SQL server I have listed in my external content type.  I am able to render the contenct properly on my SharePoint 2010 App server, but when I try to render the list on the DMZ server I receive Cannot connect to the LobSystem (External System).   Is there a way around this?  I would like my Web Front End to connect only to my SharePoint 2010 App tier which has access to all of the databases in my infrastructure.  The Web Front End only has access to the App tier.

When we go to a subsite of a web application, we get the message: "No data is available for this report. Usage analysis might have been enabled recently, or there might have been insufficient usage to report in any values for the report"

We have followed the instructions to configure the site usage reports on the farm and have checked to see whether the reports feature is activated etc. We do have the logs folder location at default path and have ensured the wss_adm groups have the appropriate permission. We also have logs turned on at the iis web app area.

This problem is farm wide and occurs on the different web applications we have in the farm.

so plz any help???

Move page in Site Content and Structure alters revision history and makes old content available

  

This sounds bizzare, I tried it on an OOTB publishing site.

I have a page X in site A. Page X has version 1.0 and 2.0 approved and published, no minor versions anywhere. I choose to move page X to site B. Page X now has revision history version 1.0 (published and available) and version 1.1, which is exactly the same as version 2.0 but no longer visible to the outside world.

So the first problem is that moving a page makes a previously published and overwritten version of the page content available again. If I publish the page it goes to version 2.0, but I have to remember to do this. Also because I approve the page, my user id is associated with the publication of the content (which is sorta ok) but the original author of version 2.0 has now presumably been lost to the ether ... or the green swirling icon of death.

But I don't publish page X because I think "oops I meant to move page Y" and move it back to site A, without first publishing version 1.1. Now I have version 0.1 and 0.2. 0.1 matches the original version 1.0, and version 0.2 matches the original version 2.0, however the best bit is that the timestamps are such that version 0.1 is now checked in after version 0.2.

I then publish the page, I now have version 0.1 and 1.0, where 0.1 matches the original version

Usage Reports / Graphical User Statistics stopped working

  

Hi all,

our usage reports (e.g. at /_layouts/SpUsageSite.aspx ) stopped working after we migrated the database from one server to another. The "raw statistics" (_layouts/usagedetails.aspx), however, are still showing some numbers.

All services are still running, all relevant settings in Central Admin (SSP, Operations) are still active. Does anyone knoe what could be the cause for this?

Team Foundation Server Reports not working

  

Hi all,

I'm having the same problems as this:

but I'm using Team Foundation Server 2010 and not 2008. The hotfix does not work with 2010 :/. The files are different.

Are there any people out there using TFS 2010 with Sql Server 2008 (not R2). I can't seem to make it work! 

Any ideas?
