Hi,

I am using SQL Server 2008 R2 Ent. Edition 64 bit reporting services. The source data for report is at remote server and it is SQL Server 2005 Ent. Edition (though I don't think this matters here.) I have set the <WorkingSetMaximum> to 5GB for SSRS

I am testing the performance of report server and running a report with 100K records with 20 concurrent users. All 20 reports gets executed successfully. When I try with 25 or 30 users only 21 reports execute successfully when I see the ExecutionLog table. I see this exception in the report service log file. Please help.

Calculated Columns in a Form Library receive error: Value does not fall within the expected range.

I have a forms library that posts the date the form was created. We would like to create a calculated column that allows us to look at these forms based on the month and year they were created. I had created a calculated column that extracts the month and replaces the number with a text string by using an if statement; "IF(MONTH([Proposal Date])=1,"January","") It goes on to evaluate each month and replace the number with the text string. This formula worked for quite some time, though now when I try to add any calculated columns or edit any existing calculated columns on this form library I receive the following error: Value does not fall within the expected range. Now my existing calculated columns (like the one above) do not work and I can not create new calcualted columns. Any insight would be awesome as this has been plaguing me for a couple of months now.

In one specific SharePoint calendar, on one specific week in that calendar when we select the "more items" link in the monthly view (or the expand all option) we get the following error:
The "ListViewWebPart" Web Part appears to be causing a problem. Index was outside the bounds of the array.

Web Parts Maintenance Page: If you have permission, you can use this page to temporarily close Web Parts or remove personal settings. For more information, contact your site administrator.

If we select a different week the expand and collapse works fine in that calendar.

"Out-of-Range" Error When Passing DateTime (DD/MM/YYYY) into Stored Procedure

Hi everybody, I hope some of you will be able to help me regarding this datetime problem. The query in the stored procedure doesn't accept DD/MM/YYYY format, although all dates are being saved in the format of DD/MM/YYYY hh:mm:ss. Example of query that throws the error: @sDate = '31/8/2010' @eDate = '1/9/2010' SELECT * FROM tb_Schedule where scheduledate >= @sDate and scheduledate <= @eDate  Error:  The conversion of a char data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range datetime value FYI, the SQL Server 2005 is defaulted to British English(2057)for all logins and the DB server itself and my server Regional and Language is set to English (United Kingdom). Any help will be appreciated. Thank you very much.

Error Creating Spatial Index - Could not find spatial tessellation sheme 'GEOMETRY_GRID'

I am trying to create a spatial index on a column of type geography in Server Management Studio. We are running SQL 2008 Workgroup. I setup the index and click ok, but getting the error:

Could not find spatial tessellation sheme 'GEOMETRY_GRID'. Specify a valid tellellation scheme name in your USING clause.

What in the world does that mean? We have created other spatial indexes in different tables successfully.

Projects giving the error "Value does not fall within the expected range."

I have a solution that contains four projects. This morning, when I opened up the solution in SQL Server Management Studio 2008, three of the projects gave the error "Value does not fall within the expected range" and were marked as unavailable. I removed them from the solution. When I attempt to add them back to the solution, nothing happens. How do I fix this?

Rebuild Index Error -1073548784

I am getting the following error on Rebuild Index Maintenance Task.

"Executing the query "ALTER INDEX [PK_cartrige] ON [dbo..." failed with the following error: "A severe error occurred on the current command.  The results, if any, should be discarded.
A severe error occurred on the current command.  The results, if any, should be discarded.". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly."

Where can i find more details on troubleshooting this error and find more details on the error. It seems to be a persistant problem since sql server 2005.

Details:

  1. -Maintenance Plan has been working well for months.
  2. -Std Edition Sql Server 2008
  3. -Db Integrity check successfull
  4. -sort result in tempdb is off
  5. -keep index online while reindexing is off
  6. -local server connection works for all other jobs prior to the task

index and timeout error

Hi,

I notice there is a relation between a table index and ado error(few modificaions, updates commands),

If I disable the index, and no error, otherwise, weill get in the ado error:
Error Detail: Timeout expired
Error Source: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server

Can someone help me track deeper? Is it a deadlock caused by the index and udpate sql?

Thanks in advance.

StringBuilder.ToString() Throws a System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException Index was out of range

I have the following code to show a logging window that has the last 64000 chars of code. Every new line I add the first line will be deleted:

m_sbText = new StringBuilder(65000);

private void AddLine(string LogMessage)
{
   if (m_sbText.Length > 64000)
   {
      m_sbText.Remove(0, m_sbText.ToString().IndexOf("\n") + 1);
   }
   m_sbText.AppendLine(LogMessage);
   textBoxLog.Text = m_sbText.ToString();
}

When I let this run the first time I got an OutOfMemory exception because I forgot to add

textBoxLog.UndoLimit = 0;

So this UndoLimit problem is still happening in WPF dot net framework 4.

I added the UndoLimit and let this run for a night. Once every few hours the textBoxLog.Text = m_sbText.ToString(); line raises a System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException Index was out of range exception on StringBuilder.ToString(). Because I do not do anything with the Index I suspect the StringBuilder to mess up internal indexes.

Index Rebuild failing with sql error msg 8966, level 16, state 2, line 20

Working with a customer trying to help him re-index his database. Database is a little over a terabyte and I gave him a re-indexing script to run on his SQL Server 2005 Enterprise server.

FYI
It had been recommended by a 3rd party load testing company that all of our re-indexing be done in "offline" mode so the re-indexing was done in offline mode for this customer.

The first reindex attempt stopped with a "severe" error message in the "query window" when sql reached the largest table in the system, which I found out contains about 29 milliion rows. The previous indexes had been successfully rebuilt or reorganized based on the percentage of fragmentation.

I asked for the sql error logs and found the "severe" error message written to the log around the time of a "sql server restart". I asked the customer and he admitted to restarting sql server. I suspected that the reindex script had not completed but could not be sure.

I decided to approach it next by rebuilding the index on the huge table only. He called me the next day and told me the rebuild had failed. He sent me the error logs and he also informed me he had killed the index query after it had been running for over 24 hours.

I found some IO errors in the sql error logs referring to "15 seconds" had been exceeded a
