What does Error Output option "Redirect Row" do?

I'm reading this http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms141679(SQL.90).aspx but I don't quite understand about the Error Output option "Redirect Row", the error or the truncation data row is directed to the error output of the source, transformation, or destination. It sounds to me that the error will be output to somewhere but how I know where.  In the Advance Editor for Destination, I find the Input and Output Properties and it has Output Columns under OLE DB Destination Error Output. For example, if I set the Error Output option to "Redirect Row" for a Destination component, what does it mean?  Is there any article which shows an example of "Redirect Row"?

How to catch error in session variable in globals.asax(Application_Error) and redirect to same page

Hi, i have a login page where username got to enter his/her username or password. After Login , Redirect To Previous Page Instead Of Destination URL set

Hi .

I have developed an asp.net project with asp.net membership for login.

I have login control in a page and for that I have set the property destination URL to a particular page say defaultlogin.aspx.

It is also working fine, when I use to login from home page.

But if i navigate to different pages of my website say first to home page, contact us page, about us page etc. Then after that when I click on login page and key up the login information in the login control.

I use to redirect to the last page which I have visited the last. It is not redirecting to the destination page which I have set in the login control.

What's the problem here?

Plz help me with the above issue.

Thanx in advance.

Response.Redirect cannot be called in a page callback error message.

Hi.  I'm using the Dundas Chart Controls in VS 2005.  These controls are built utilizing AJAX.  I have a basic page with a dundas chart control containing a funnel chart.  The funnel contains Quotes, Sales Orders and Invoices.  When the user clicks on the control, I want to determine whether they clicked on Quotes, Sales Orders or Invoices and transfer to the appropriate Details Page.  I've got the code working to determine which transaction type they clicked on; but, I get the "Response.Redirect cannot be called in a page callback." error when the page tries to redirect.  Note: I get a similar issue if I try server.transfer.

 Here's my code:

Dim hitTestResult As Dundas.Charting.WebControl.HitTestResult = Chart1.HitTest(e.X, e.Y)

            If Not (hitTestResult Is Nothing) Then

                Dim clicked As Dundas.Charting.WebControl.DataPoint = hitTestResult.Series.Points(hitTestResult.PointIndex)

                Select Case hitTestResult.PointIndex
                    Case 0

Redirect the output to excel

Currently  I have a ASP page that brings data from the database and display in a grid, something like this

     DataSet dsReport = sqlServer.GetReports ((txtbox1.Text), dropdownlist1.SelectedValue,dteDue);
            DataGrid1.DataSource = dsReport.Tables[0];

what i want is instead of data in a data grid display have it in a excel file  so I used

RenderExcel(dsReport.Tables[0], strFileName);

But instead of getting the data from the database in the excle file. I get the input asp page displayed in the excel. Pleae can anybody suggest what to do?

Thanks in advance

Recordset Destination Component Error in SQL Agent

I am using the Recordset Destination Component to populate an Object Variable, and then using a For Each Component to loop over that Variable.  The package executes perfectly if I run it from within BIDS, however, when I execute as a Job Step within the SQL Server Agent, I get the following error:

Description: Component "component "Recordset Destination" (34)" could not be created and returned error code 0x80070005. Make sure that the component is registered correctly.  Code: 0xC0048021  Recordset Destination [34]     Description: The component is missing, not registered, not upgradeable, or missing required interfaces. The contact information for this component is "Recordset Destination;Microsoft Corporation;Microsoft SqlServer v9; (C) 2005 Microsoft Corporation; All Rights Reserved; http://www.microsoft.com/sql/support;0"  Code: 0xC0047017

I have tried executing in the Job Step every way I can think of...as command line from file system, from within SQL Server, as 32-bit, 64-bit, Windows Auth, SQL Server Auth...

Any Ideas?

SSIS - Derived Column Error Rows will not redirect to table

I am new to SSIS and I have created a package that generally successfully takes a Flat File Source, runs it through a Derived Column transformation and then pushes the data into a SQL Server Database.

I have a Derived Column Error Output set up, but it is not working.  If the data has an error the entire package fails, not just the specific row.  I have tested the package to load successfully and then manually gone into the flat file and changed the data to purposely create an error in one row. Having cleared the load table I rerun the package and it fails entirely rather than redirecting the one bad row.

In the Derived Column Transformation Editor I set the Error and Truncation values to Redirect Row for all the columns.

In SQL Destination Editor for the bad rows I am only mapping the ErrorCode abnd ErrorColumn values to the destination table fields of the same name.  Could this be the problem? Should I map all the fields?  I would like to map all the source (derived) fields into a single text field in the destination table if possible.

The Advanced settings have only the Table Lock and Check constraints boxes checked.  Timeout is 30.

I am not really sure how to set the Advanced Editor properties.  I have left them at the default values.  Any suggestions here?

Error handling on a ADO NET Destination

I have a Data Flow Task on Visual Studio 2008.
In this Task, I have a data written in a ADO NET Destination. In it, I have set 'Redirect row' in case of Error handling.
So, I have put a script component destination where I wrote error data in a table.
But: I have only ErrorCode and ErrorColumn fields for error info?
It seems that I have a detailed error in case of 'Fail component' in the ADO NET destination and only two numbers (and ErrorColumn is always 0) in case of 'Redirect row'?

1. Redirect row error data:
ErrorCode ErrorColumn
-1071610801 0

And I can obtain the description with:

errorDescription = ComponentMetaData.GetErrorDescription(Row.ErrorCode);

2. Fail component error data:
Error: 0

SSIS Data flow OLE DB Destination error

I am getting the following error In the data flow task , its failed at ole db destination. Please help me as soon as possible. Thanks in advance

Problem redirect debug output to a file using trace listener

I have created a debug listener to redirect the output from the Debug/Console window to a file(with a call stack), using the following code:

void SomeMethod()
    // Create a file for output .txt.
    Stream debugFile = File.Create(fileName);

    // create TextWriterTraceListener named "file"
    TextWriterTraceListener debugWriter = new TextWriterTraceListener(debugFile, "file");

    // add to debug listeners
    // set callstack to be shown
    Debug.Listeners["file"].TraceOutputOptions |= TraceOptions.Callstack;
    // set auto-flush
    Debug.AutoFlush = true;

but the output won't redirect to the file I specified, it is always empty. I am calling this from the constructor in my main form. Is the place where I'm calling it from a problem?

What I am trying to achieve here is to have the exceptions from the Debug output window placed in a file with a call stack, so that I can find them and correct them.

Anyone have any ideas?

Comma-Delimited Output

One of the common tasks performed when retrieving data from a SQL Server database is returning the result as a comma-delimited output instead of a result set. This task can be performed by using a CURSOR selecting the column to be concatenated together. Each row returned by the CURSOR is then concatenated together into a variable separating each one by a comma.

IsapiModule Error 500 Issue

I am about exhausted trying to figure out this error:

HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error

Description: The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred.

Error Code: 0x8007007b

Notification: ExecuteRequestHandler

Module: IsapiModule

Requested URL: http://localhost:80/ReportServer

Physical Path: c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.2\Reporting Services\ReportServer

When I enable Failed Request Tracing Rules and view the log output I am supposing that the actual problem is in the 2nd call where there are 2 backslashes before the actual filename in the specified path:

CALL_ISAPI_EXTENSION DllName="C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\\aspnet_isapi.dll"

Response.Redirect slow

I'm in the middle of migrating servers and on the new server Response.Redirect is extremely slow. It takes around 20 seconds for the browser to get the redirect. This is something that was quick on the existing server. It's an ASP.NET 2.0 application, both servers are running IIS6.

Additionally, if I "manually" do the redirect, it's fast. For example:

Existing way:

takes around 20 seconds on the new server

New way:

Response.Status = "302 Moved Temporarily";
Response.AddHeader("Location", url);

is fast on the new server.

Any ideas why Response.Redirect would be so slow on the new server?
