Published site - wrong links

Posted By:      Posted Date: August 26, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

we have published our sharepoint site outside domain.

Unfortunately big problems with links in document library appeared.

The url for outside users is "it.company.cz", the internal url is "sp001:55680".

When I open the page and select Shared Documents, the site is still it.company.cz. But when select any folder in document library the site url changes to sp001:55680.

Strange is that the mouseover url is correct but when I click it, it changes to internal url.

Mouseover url: http://it.compay.cz/Shared%20Documents/Forms/AllItems.aspx?RootFolder=%2fShared%20Documents%2fProjects&FolderCTID=&View=%7bBEBFF1D2%2d5910%2d4A36%2dB049%2d971F95E752E7%7d

After click url: http://sp001:55680/Shared%20Documents/Forms/AllItems.aspx?RootFolder=%2fShared%20Documents%2fProjects&FolderCTID=&View=%7bBEBFF1D2%2d5910%2d4A36%2dB049%2d971F95E752E7%7d

Please help.

New Document Library in a subsite is inheriting permissions from wrong site

I have a site collection (using the out-of-the-box Business Intelligence site template) called "BI Home". A couple weeks ago I created a bunch of subsites (Finance, Regulatory, Marketing, etc.) all using the BI site template, and then created a Document Library called "Reports" in each one of those subsites. Those are all working as expected. Yesterday I needed to create a new subsite (again, a BI site just off the root site collection) called "Operations". I created the subsite, and then created the "Reports" document library underneath it.  When I went to modify the permissions of the new document library (located here: /Operations/Reports), it said it was inheriting permissions from it's parent: "BI Home".  Why would this be?  Shouldn't the parent be "Operations" ?? All my other sites' "Reports" folders are inheriting permission from their respective parent, but any new sites I create seem to have this issue. Thanks in advance for any insight someone may provide! [SharePoint 2010 RTM on Win2k8R2 using SQL 2008R2 RTM on Win2k8R2]

sharepoint 2010 personalization site links

 I get the following error when i want to add a link to the personalization site links. Dutch translation(Er is een fout opgetreden tijdens de zoekopdracht. Als het probleem zich blijft voordoen, neemt u contact op met de beheerder van de portalsite) English translation is a bit like (there is an error occurred during the search exercise if the problem exist, contact the administrator of the SharePoint site) It's a migrated SharePoint 2010 (Dutch) environment. And I think the reason is that I removed an audience that was connected to a personalization site link. Greetings Frido

View All Site Content Showing the wrong number of items

NOTE:  Similar post also had no answer: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointecm/thread/f775ba0d-648f-4be3-9017-78539915b281/ I am the Site Collection Administrator/and also tried logging in using Farm Account.  I go into View All Site Content and I show 15 documents.  When you actually go to the All Items view (and I double-checked, no filtering), you only find 9 documents.  Versioning is not turned on.  I am a developer, so I also used the Web Service to try to troubleshoot.  The Lists.asmx web service shows an Item Count of 15 using the GetList method.  However, using the GetListItems method, the item Count reports 9 items, which is what I see in my browser. Is there an stsadm command that I can run that will "true up" this number being reported in View All Site Content? Thanks in advance. - Update -  MOSS 2007 v 3.0 server farm.

Site usage report simply wrong

I have a site, in a site collection (obviously) using MOSS2007. The usage reports are very low.  Yesterday it claims only two users visited.  Seeing that this site has the "Daily Dilbert" I was sure that this was wrong.

A quick look at yesterday's log file shows shed loads - I got up to 20 users before getting half way through the file.  Many of those users don't show on th user list either.

All the settings look OK - something is obviusly being registered - the Landing Page (the one with the Dilbert) has some hits against it - just not nearly as many as the hard logs say.

It means I have lost confidence in the usage reports across the site collection now!

Any ideas?

Adding to Published links to Office client applications via code

For a current sharepoint 2007 moss project it would be nice to automatically put certain document libraries into the word save as menu for certain users.

This can be achieved using Published links to Office client applications.

To automate this it would be nice to develop a script that automatically a link into Published links to Office client applications based on the document library security.

The web service PublishedLinksService only has method .GetLinks and I cannot see anything in the object model.

If anyone knows if this can (or definately cannot) be done then the guidance would be very much appreciated.

Flash Video not loading when my site is published

I have a WebForm which has an ImageButton. When clicked, it will open a new window (using javascript). This new window,will load an html page (video.html).

Page.ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(this.GetType(), "Open", "<script>window.open('Video/video.html','mywindow','menubar=0,resizable=1,width=420,height=310');</script>");

This html page contains a FLV Player, that loads a flv movie (myMovie.flv):

<table width="500" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
    <td height="374" class="bgvideo">
    <table border="0" align="left" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
        <td width="166" align="left" valign="top" style="padding-left:25px; padding-bottom:95px;"><object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="352" height="240" id="FLVPlayer">
          <param name="movie" value="FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf" />
          <param name="quality" value="high" />

Anything wrong with creating an Intranet/IIS web site as a subsite under Central Administration?

After installing WSS 3.0, we can set up a subsite under the Central Administration.  My question is: if we want to create an Intranet,
i.e. an IIS Web site/web application, is it okay to create this Intranet under the CentralAdministration?  It seemed to me it is not right
to create an Intranet under the Central Administration, but I don't know anything wrong.

Site content type's column with wrong field type that was created once will not work if re-created

I've created the column 'MyDescription' with type 'Multiline Enchanced Text' in my custom content type derived from 'Page'. But later I understood that 'Publishing HTML' is better for me. I've removed the 'MyDescription' column and recreated 'MyDescription' with type 'Publishing HTML'.

Page layout for my custom content type uses this code to display field

<PublishingWebControls:RichHtmlField FieldName="MyDescription" runat="server"/>

But page falls without any error information. I've deleted and recreated page: it fell always.

When I created column 'MyDescription1' with 'Publishing HTML' type in my custom content type and changed code to this

Everything on subsite published but site is still not public

Hi all,

This is my first forum post accompanying my first try with SharePoint.

I have set up af set as subsite to a larger general site. Now that pretty much all the customization of the master and layout pages is done I want to see how it looks like to the public. So I tried publishing all the sites and everything, but user credentials are still necessary to access the site.

Honestly I don't understand it, for I have set all pages, layouts, masterpages and everything I can think of to published, but still, no luck. What am I missing? When i press the 'Check for un-pubslished items'-button on any page it says that there is nothing unpublished. I is really getting quite frustrating. Especially because this page needs to be done sunday or monday at best.

Do the welcome pages of the site (and my subsites of which i have 8-9) have to by of the type 'Welcome Page' in orden for the page to be public? It doesn't seem to make any difference, when I change the page type to welcome page in stead of ordinary (custom made) page layout. Although I haven't tried making all the chosen welcoma pages of the whole subsite (child subsites included) Welcome Pages.

But I'm now reaching the pulling-out-my-hairs stage of frustration. Can you help me in any way?

Thanks in advance

Published Sharepoint through ISA, but only the main site works

I have created a publishing rule on ISA 2006, and tested connecting from the Internet, through address https://www.company.com/ to our Sharepoint site successfully; however,  I could only open pages and libraries under the main site, not any other sites under the farm, such as https://www.company.com/Dept1, https://www.company.com/Dept2.

The error message in web browser was HTTP404, just as if the web sites do not exisit.

What's the actions I need to do to make them to work?

MOSS 2007 Intranet Home page "My Links" suddenly missing. "My Site" is there.

Hi all,

If anyone has seen this issue, or is aware of it, your help is appreciated it.

Our intranet homepage is suddenly missing the "My Links" link on the top right corner.  The welcome message and "My Site" shows up.  When I click on "My Site" and it takes me to my profile, I can see the "My Links" on that page.

However, it is no longer showing on the homepage.  This is the case for all users.

How can I re-enable it or make it show on the homepage again?  Anyone know what would have caused it to suddenly disappear?  We have not been making any changes to the home page or the intranet.

Changing the graphics on the home page of a SharePoint site

When you create a site in Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services by using the default Team Site template, the home page includes two default graphics. A Windows SharePoint Services graphic appears in the body of the page, and a picture of a house in a circle appears near the site title. You can change these graphics to customize your site. Changing the smaller graphic requires a Windows SharePoint Services compatible Web page editor

Take a tour of your SharePoint site

What is a SharePoint site for?
A SharePoint site is a Web site that provides a central storage and collaboration space for documents, information, and ideas. A SharePoint site is a tool for collaboration, just like a telephone is a tool for communication, or a meeting is a tool for decision making. A SharePoint site helps groups of people (whether work teams or social groups) share information and work together. For example, a SharePoint site can help you:

Coordinate projects, calendars, and schedules.
Discuss ideas and review documents or proposals.
Share information and keep in touch with other people.

Six easy ways to customize your site using Web Parts in SharePoint

Becoming familiar with Web Part customization techniques gives you a range of page-customization choices. For example, you can customize your site's home page so that it displays the specific information that your team needs. You can rearrange the list items on the home page, add lists, and even change the images on the home page. As you become more familiar with Web Part Page customization techniques, you can build interactive Web Part Pages that makes the data in lists more dynamic and useful, and you can add new Web Parts that provide access to external data and Web services.
