Sending Email alerts before expire date on document (using Sharepoint Designer)

I need to trigger an email alert 2 weeks before the expire date on document (document library).

The document library has a List/Site Column for an Expiry date.

I need to clarify the following:

I assume it is possible to create a CALCULATED field (Alert Date) of DATE (assigned to List/Site Column) that would

have a formula of: Expiry date - 14 days.

Is it possible to trigger a workflow (created in Sharepoint Designer) AFTER the Alert + Expiry dates have been set

and ONLY if the Alert Date  = Todays Date?

Is it possible to add a variable in the workflow of type DATE that MAPPED to the current item 'UPLOADED' to the

Document Library and was calculated against the number of days to be subtracted?

If this was possible could it be bound to the PAUSE UNTIL DATE action?

The Workflow would only then be triggered (p

SharePoint 3.0 document libary imcoming email settings

I am having problems with a SharePoint site. I was able to create incoming emails on the site for a document library. The server was on an SAN solution and it got corrupted. The site was restored. I am able to create incoming email settings on the central admin page. The problem is when I go into the site I cannot create incoming email settings. The ones that were created before the server crashed works fiine. I cannot create any new ones. The question that I have is this a permission issue for the site ?

Word Document date property defaulting to an incorrect value.

Within a SharePoint document library we have a custom column that is a date (Inactive date). If you look at the properties from within SharePoint on a document the date is empty. If you open the document in Word 2007 and look at the properties the date has acquired a value, always the same value 30/11/1999. If you save the document and look at the properties in SharePoint again it now has the value.  Unfortunately in Business terms this now shows that the document is “In Active”. I traced the date back to the template document on the library. I edited the template document by removing the date and saving it. If I then create a new document and save it again the properties in SharePoint show an empty date. However if I then open the document again in Word the date appears. This problem does not occur with word 2003. How can I stop the date defaulting to this value when a document is opened in Word?

Unable to filter the "E-mail To" field in email enabled document library

Hi, We have setup a few email enabled docuement libraries to store emails relating to project work. Is there a way to make the "E-mail To" field in the library be filtered? It is greyed out and doesnt give you the option. The "E-mail From" and "E-mail Subject" are able to have a filter applied to them but for some reason the "E-mail To" field wont let you filter the content. The probelm is that there are over 500 files in the library and the easiest way to find messages is to be able ot filter this column in the library if it is at all possible.

Document Review / Circulations Query

Hello all, I have recently started with a fresh install of SharePoint 2010 and so far I'm very impressed.  We have had a specific requirement for a document review system.  A user would like to send documents out for review to a group of people.  So far I have discovered the circulations, this allows us to setup a circulation, the limitation is that it does not email the recipients and it does not remind them.  The other option is to create a document library with a workflow to setup tasks for users, we can get this to email and subsequently remind users but if I send the task to a group it only creates one task (the first person who completes the task stop the workflow and we lose the audit trail for all other users).  It can be assigned to single users but for ease of maintenance I would like to send to a group so that end users can add people rather than editing the workflow every time a new user is required.  In an ideal world the circulation list would email the users and subsequently remind them via email to read the document.  Does anybody have any thoughts on this? Thanks for help.

Set read only permissions on a document based on review status

I have a document library that has excel files that users create using a Content Type template.  Then there is a workflow that runs on it and allows the user to change state of the document to Strted, Prepared, Reviewed.  I want that once the status is set to reviewed, a workflow runs and changes the permissions on the document to read only.  The user is part of a group... so not sure how to handle the permission.  Any advice?

Date time of a document is not synchronized with the server

I upload a new document to a document library on SharePoint 2007. The time on my computer and on SharePoint server was correct, despite this the modified time of the document was set to an hour forward.

What can I do to fix the problem.

How can I edit the link to the document in a Approval Task email?

With the 2010 out of the box Approval workflow, the emails and tasks work just great, however, when a user receives the email, the instructions look like this:

To complete this task:
2. Perform the specific activities required for this task.
3. Use the Open this task button to mark the task as completed. (If you cannot update this task, you might not have access to it.)

Currently, we are using a friendly url for our users, in order to access their SharePoint site.  The <LINKED DOCUMENT> when clicked on, gives them an error and doesn't take them to the actual document in the SharePoint site, because of the fact that we are using a different url name for the site.

If there any way I can edit this auto-generated email so that the links will always be to the friendly url of our SharePoint site with each document?

Thanks in advance!

Create Email Message and Send to Client For Review before Sending

Please read this post carefully. I am not looking to actually send an email using ASP.NET.

I am looking for a means by which ASP.NET can create an Outlook MailItem and stream it to the client machine for the user to review prior to sending. I know that its possible to create files such as Word docs and Excel spreadsheets an then stream them, but I don't know how to do it with ASP.NET.

SharePoint Document Libraries not receiving email

I am having an issue with my document libraries receiving incoming emails.  Talking to our Exchange guy, the emails make it through Exchange and appear to be delivered.  I can see the email going into the drop folder in the mailroot.  It leaves the folder, but is never delivered to the document library.  Does anyone know what my next step should be?

Let me know if you need more info.  I'm at a loss.
