Normally you have a master/detail relationship. Sort of the gridview, user selects a value and then a formview shows the full detail of that table or another table for that row of data. This is typical in a one-to-many relationship of one table to another.
Is it possible to somehow create a formview from a gridview which is really a detail of all of the rows in the table. Sort of a many-to-many relationship.
Example: Customer adds items to a table. Each item has other items related to it. So 1 item in table 1, shows 4 items in table 2, but 2 items in table 1 means we need to display 8 items from table 2 because we want to see all of the "many-to-many" values in table 2.
Anyone know if this possible, or do you need to drop down to codebehind programming and iterate through each row, query the second table and build a manual Dataset? Just want to make sure there is no built-in mechanism to handle this case.
