Error on deployment

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 20, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

I have developed a project using SQL Server Express edition and VS2008. It is working fine on the development pc but when i deploy the application on any other machine i am getting the following error. What is wrong here? I want to make such a setting of server and DB that it will run on any machine when deployed.

"An attempt to attach an auto-named database for file D:\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\Smart Trial\Smart Syncronix\SmartDB.mdf failed. A database with the same name exists, or specified file cannot be opened, or it is located on UNC share."

What needs to be done?

deployment error on x64 when compiled as x64

I have a service application that I compile as x86, x64, and any CPU.  It installs correctly on x86 using either x86 or any cpu.  It installs correctly on x64 if I compile as x86 or any CPU but if I include the wrong DLL the any CPU version crashes so I have to be careful where the any CPU version is installed.  If I compile the x64 it gives me a BadimageForamtException during install. I would prefer to only have the two installs x64 and x86 which limits the odd errors when using the any CPU version but I need to resolve the BadimageForamtException first. I know the problem is more than likely one of the related DLL is 32 bit only my problem is finding it.  Is there a quick way of determining if a DLL is 32 or 64 bit?  It would be nice if this detail was displayed in the list of properties in VS when you click on the references. Import Error: Could not process the file Documents/Application Deployment.mht as a Single File Web P

Hi there everyone, Version: Windows Sharepoint Services 3.0 with Cumulative Update June 29, 2010 applied. I am having issues importing an exported site into a different domain. I've overcome most of the issues and actually got most of the site to import, however, the import process get's stuck on import a Single File Web Page document from a document library. I believe the original cause of this error is http://support.microsoft.com/kb/980079 The issue I face now is, I already have a large number of .mht files in my document library which I do need to import into the test environment (or that I might need to restore in a DR scenario). Does anyone have any information on either: forcing the import commmand to "on error resume next" (ie. not stop processing when it encounters an error) fixing the already corrupt .mht files in the database easily The error text from the import command is: Error: Could not process the file Documents/Application Deployment.mht as a Single File Web Page document. at Microsoft.SharePoint.Library.SPRequest.CreateOrUpdateFileAndItem(String bstrUrl, String bstrWebRelativeUrl, Guid& docId, Object varDoc, Int32 docLength, Int32 exists, String bstrCreatedBy, String bstrModifiedBy, Int32 iCreatedByID, Int32 iModifiedByID, Int32 iVersion, Object varTimeCreated, Object varTimeLastModified, Object varProperties, String checkInComment, Int3

WCF REST deployment Error: "Resource Does not exist"

I am trying to access http://localhost/TestServiceHost/TestService.svc and I am getting the following error: Error Description: 'Resource does not exist' This may be because an invalid URI or HTTP method was specified. Please see the service help page for constructing valid requests to the service. The funny thing is that http://localhost/TestServiceHost/TestService.svc/help is working fine. Not only that, all my endpoints are working fine. I am using IIS 7.5 (Win 2008 R2). Application developed using .NET 4.0.  Following is the code (extracted from my prototype) and configuration:   <ServiceContract()> Public Interface ITestSvc <OperationContract()> <Description("")> <WebInvoke(Bodystyle:=WebMessageBodyStyle.Bare, Method:="POST", UriTemplate:="GetCodes")> Function GetCodes(ByVal oReq As ReqGetCodes) As RespGetCodes End Interface Public Class TestSvc Implements ITestSvc Public Function GetCodes(ByVal oReq As ReqGetCodes) As RespGetCodes Implements ITestSvc.GetCodes Dim o As New RespGetCodes Dim lstGetCodes = New List(Of ClassGetCodes) From { New ClassGetCodes With {.App_Code = "a1", .SystemFlag = True}, New ClassGetCodes With {.App_Code = "a2", .SystemFlag = False}, New ClassGetCodes With {.App_Code = "a

MOSS 2007 Content Deployment Error

I have trouble with a staging environment that I recently set up.  I went through the error logs and finally got the staging environment functioning without errors, but previous to working through those errors, we successfully made a content deployment path and job and ran it.  Now, the Destination central Admin is giving permissions issues.  I changed and restarted some services and some component services..  Are there any specific things I should check related specifically to content deployment as far as services on the server?

Either the URL for the destination Web application is not valid, or you do not have permissions to the Central Administration site on the destination server farm.

Error details: The remote Web service request failed with this message : 'Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.'.

Content Type Deployment Error

Error occurred in deployment step 'Recycle IIS Application Pool': Provider load failure

I am using Visual Studio 2010 to create page layouts and preview images(http://blog.beckybertram.com/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=71). I was successful in creating page layouts but the image was not coming properly.

So I decided to change the path of image and deploy the project (Empty SharePoint project). But this time, I am getting an error
Error occurred in deployment step 'Recycle IIS Application Pool': Provider load failure
I am sure there is no relation between changing image path in elements.xml and this error.

I also browsed through and found some related issues, but they are not specific to VS 2010 or SharePoint 2010. And I am apprehensive of implementing them.

1. The logged in user is site collection admin and local admin
2. Windows Management Instrumentation service is running
3. App pool's identity is configured to the local admin & password has not changed.

Thanks in advance

VS2010 RTM bug?? Error Occurred in deployment step 'Add Solution': Value cannot be null. Parameter

I'm getting this error with Visual Studio 2010 (RTM) deploying to SharePoint 2010 (also RTM).

An "Empty SharePoint Solution" project with an OOB "Module" item added. Try to deploy and I get:

Error Occurred in deployment step 'Add Solution': Value cannot be null. Parameter name: s

The account I'm developing with has:

  • Domain Admin
  • Local Admin
  • SharePoint Farm Admin
  • Site Collection Admin
  • SQL "sysadmin"
  • SQL "DBOwner" on all config / content databases
  • UAC is disabled

The WSP package is created successfully, and if I roll it out using STSADM then it works perfectly. For some reason though Visual Studio 2010 thinks that it cannot be deployed!

Any ideas??

Error occurred in deployment step 'Retract Solution': The language-neutral solution package was no

I've got the same error as those who opened this thread, but I'm looking for the cause of this error rather than deleting the solution file from SP2010 Server over and over again.

I was developing and deploying with VS2010 and SP2010 Enterprise Edition just fine for over three month now and out of nothing this error pops up again and again for the same solution. I can't tell what I've changed or which software I might have installed in the meantime, so I can't give any hints what causes the errormessage. Which might be interesting: I installed my SP2010 Enterprise Edition in english and installed the german language pack afterwards. Kind regards, Andreas

ListDefinition: Invalid field name error after successful deployment

I deployed a list definition + instance with no deployment errors.

The lists consists of four fields, the title field where the display name is changed, two text fields and one lookup field.

The sample data provided in the elements.xml file are in the list as expected, except the data in the lookup field column, but this is another issue.

When I want to view or edit an item or view the list settings in an error occurs:
Invalid field name. {53c894b1-5f56-438f-9cc0-57f8d00863cb}

The guid is of the renamed title field, which is referenced in a content type and a view.

I renamed the standard fields wirh schema.xml entries:

        <Field ID="{29EEE9D5-7241-403C-B327-1343E7BAE8EC}"
           DisplayName="Anzahl Posten p.a." />

Error occurred in deployment step 'Add Solution': An object of the type Microsoft.Office.InfoPath.

While trying to deploy custom SharePoint workflow solution in VS 2010, along with InfoPath custom task edit form, I ran into the following error message.

Error occurred in deployment step 'Add Solution': An object of the type Microsoft.Office.InfoPath.Server.Administration.FormTemplate named xxx already exists under the parent Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPFarm named xxx Rename your object or delete the existing object

How can I resolve this problem? I have did some research but none helpful so far.
