Programmatically retrieve data from the associated row in SharePoint and use the data to do math

Posted By:      Posted Date: August 26, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

I am trying to pull all of the associated data from a SharePoint list row to an InfoPath form repeating table.  I would like to select 1 unique value from the row and have the other fields auto-populate with the associated data from that row.

SharePoint Columns and also names of InfoPath fields 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.

I have a dropdown that is connected to column 1 and I would like to select 1 and have it populate the rest of the fields from that row.  I am currently doing this with information and C# code from:  http://www.bizsupportonline.net/infopath2007/sharepoint-list-retrieve-value-same-row-repeating-table-infopath

Data Connection doesn't retrieve all data in sharepoint

Hi all,

    I had this data connection in my form template (IP 2007), which is supposed to return all form entries from a sharepoint form library and display it in a html popup dialog. It did retrieve some of the entries from the form library and display them but not all . One interesting point I found out is that if I manually updated the content of the forms that has NOT been retrieve by the data connection , these updated forms will be retrieved and displayed in the html dialog  after the form is re-opened which initiate another query through data connection.

   I didn't create any udcx file to store the data connection info into a file. I wonder that's why this happens even though the data connection does query the form library every time I close the form and open it up again. This is urgent, any suggestion would really help. Thanks very much!

How to retrieve data from SqlDataSource and pass to a variable?

Hi there,

I have a page in my website where there is very little code-behind. I only have two lines of code in Page_Load() and the rest of the code is declarative ASP.NET code. I have a FormView control which uses a SqlDataSource to get some order information. The SqlDataSource calls a stored procedure called usp_GetOrderDetails, here's the code for the SqlDataSource:

    <asp:SqlDataSource ID="sdsFormOrderDetails" runat="server"
ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:ForexDB %>"
ProviderName="<%$ ConnectionStrings:ForexDB.ProviderName %>"
SelectCommand="usp_GetOrderDetails" SelectCommandType="StoredProcedure"
UpdateCommand="usp_UpdateOrder" UpdateCommandType="StoredProcedure"
<asp:ControlParameter Name="orderId" ControlID="grdOrders" PropertyName="SelectedDataKey.Value" />
<asp:ControlParameter Name="orderId" ControlID="frmOrderDetails" PropertyName="SelectedValue" />

Regarding Business data catalog in SharePoint

Hi All,

          I am using business data catalog to display the records present in the Active Directory based on the user selection of samAccountName. Since the number of records present in Active Directory are more than 3000 the user has to iterate through each page to get to a particular record. I want to add a kind of filter to my Definition file that user can search for a particular samAccountName from the list of samAccountName displayed in the business data list web part. I am using office server SDK by microsoft to generate the application definition file.

Any help regarding this will be appreciated.

How to create scrolling table for columns in a SharePoint Designer Data View

I have a fairly complex SharePoint Designer 2007 Data View they have added two more requirements.

1. Have the columns on the right side be able to scroll left to right as there is a large number of columns, while the first 3 columns on the left side stay locked in place.  This is only one list not two, and because of some other requirements I have it must remain to be just one list.

2. Then they also need to have scrolling up and down of the entire list with the headers locked in place.

The first requirement is more important than the second, but preferrably I need to do both.

I am new to XSL so not familar with the syntax. Is this something I can do on a custom Data View? Does anyone have any examples of how?

I have a drawing that show how it needs to look but I don't see an option here to upload a graphic.

So here is a link to my graphic example uploaded to my blog area: http://lindachapman.blogspot.com/  or just the image here: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_aB01ue__NvQ/TGL42MOvrGI/AAAAAAAAAA4/c3xP4uCy4BU/s1600/Scrolling.png

I failed to mention that 3/4 of the columns are HTML Calculated fields wh
